Quick and attentive service and distinctly fresh fish in a smallish venue that felt a little hole-in-the-wall-ish. Our party of 3 enjoyed the 10 piece all-salmon nigiri, the sushi and sashimi combo, and two of their specialty rolls. They had a reasonable thematic drink menu, but we stayed with water this trip. This place may be Corolla's best kept secret for sushi. The place itself was quaint but had enough space for my walker. Everything we ate was fresh and delicious we also had two ichiban beers. The service was very friendly and accommodating. I think my favorite bites were the gyoza and the spider and fantasy rolls because they had real crab. I definitely would come back again. read more

This review is for a 4 roll carryout to-go order for dinner. We've been here a few times before, always for eat-in - definitely recommend this place for its fresh and authentic sushi and Japanese fare. The place is tiny inside - neat and clean and suitably decorated, nothing fancy but the super reasonable prices make up for that. Check out the menu screenshots I posted from their website. For authentic sushi - and there is LOTS to choose from on the menu - IMPRESSIVE. They offer classic as well as specialty rolls (with some creative roll names!) - the classic rolls were good enough for us but the specialty rolls looked tempting too. "They treat me like a king down in Okinawa and I may never come back no more" (Ry Cooder) We had a few hours to spend in Corolla before our Wild Horse excursion was scheduled to depart, so we journeyed over to the Timbuk II plaza and had a leisurely and very enjoyable lunch at Okinawa Sushi and Grill. We dove into their big lunch menu and my wife chose a Hollywood Box with a California Roll, Shrimp Tempura Roll, seaweed salad, a spring roll, and a side of white rice ($14). I went with a Miso soup ($2.50) and a Spicy Chicken Grill Bowl with broccoli, squash, carrots, and white rice ($13). My lunch was great! The sauce in the Spicy Chicken Bowl delivered a lot of heat to accompany all of the grilled chicken chunks and nicely coat the veggies and rice. I can't recommend this place enough - the sushi is fresh and delicious, outrageously affordable, and all the staff are kind and patient (especially with the mix of unnecessarily rude vacationing customers). Every year, we can't wait to dine in or get takeout from here. There are also a number of other non-sushi menu items that are yummy and flavorful. The only thing I could possibly criticize is that they ought to raise their prices (I don't know any sushi place that serves high-quality sushi at such a low price). Notably, the prices, however, are NOT shopping mall-food court-level dollars. The chicken teriyaki bowls were left unfinished by both boys, which ...um, never happens. My daughter's shrimp yakisoba was undone by overdone shrimp. The miso soup was what it was supposed to be. Yay? As forgettable as the kitchen items were, the sushi was more disappointing. We ordered an assortment of nigiri and rolls. The quality of the fish was average to below average. Even more telling, the sushi rice was poorly seasoned. Yes, the quality of the fish and how it's handled is prime, but the care with which the sushi rice is prepared can sometimes be as revealing as to a where a sushi joint sits on the spectrum of good to bleh.
