I went here because I was really craving sushi and ordered two rolls. the Honolulu Roll and the Shrimp Tempura Roll. The Honolulu Roll tasted a little off, but the Shrimp Tempura Roll tasted just rotten. My boyfriend smelled it as well and immediately agreed that something was definitely wrong. And wasn't even willing to try it because of the smell. Something was definitely off and was not fresh. My boyfriend ordered the orange chicken and enjoyed it. I tried it and personally was not a fan. I also didn't trust the quality of the food anymore. It was really disappointing because I had been looking forward to sushi all week. I almost wonder if it was the sweetness of the house salad dressing that then made the cocktail seem a bit more sour than expected. The house salad was included with the lunch 3 Maki Special, which was 6 pieces of Philly, California, and Spicy Tuna rolls for $13.95. The combo hibachi lunch of chicken and steak for $14.50 was a great deal with a naturally sweet and salty teriyaki sauce and plenty of cooked vegetables and fried rice along with a soup or salad. Shrimp tempura appetizer came with 3 shrimp and a set of tempura vegetables- all perfectly crispy and not too oily, with a very light soy vinegar dipping sauce that's much less salty than straight soy. The service was efficient and kind and managed to welcome a walk-in group of 20 people around 4pm with barely a blink of an eye when setting up room for them to all sit together with no advance notice. read more

We got a number of rolls to split, the best of which was the Christmas Roll loaded with a number of different seafood options. I was able to pay on the site and I received texts to confirm the order, receipt with estimated time of pickup and when the order was ready. You cannot go into the store to pick up; there is a side window with a plastic bin that the server places your order in. I ordered the Super Star roll, ikura (roe), salmon, and California rolls. I also got a cup of miso soup. Everything was flavorful and the fish fresh. I applaud the restaurant for their creative rolls. I have Celiac Disease so I called ahead to see if they could accomodate my gluten free diet eithout cross contamination. I was told that there were many things on the menu that can be made gluten free. Even the egg drop soup is gluten free! The servers were a little confused when I arrived but the chef was very clear and said they use separate utensils, cookware and gluten free soy sauce in their dishes. It was good that I arrived after the lunch crowd and before the dinner rush so the staff were better able to handle all of my questions. I could order most anything on the menu and they could make it gluten free. I ordered Chicken & Broccoli which came with Egg Drop Soup. The soup was delicious! So was the entree! We've done take out several times and the food is always good. I especially like the egg drop soup. I'd skip the spring rolls. Soggy in the middle like they were fryed and reheated. Last time we had some chili chicken wings. Very good but a small serving. Beef and broccoli is very good. Enough for two with leftovers. I didn't get an opportunity to dine in, but I was coming back to our hotel late and wanted to pick up dinner on the way. Looked up their menu online and saw a plethora of sushi. I currently cannot eat anything raw but ordered an eel and avocado roll and a special roll with shrimp tempura to try. I asked my husband about the fish and he agreed that it was just okay. This was surprising since this is a beach town and I would think the fish would be more fresh. What was lacking from the sushi was made up in the beef and broccoli dish. Such a chinese menu staple that was prepared right- often times the sauce is not too flavorful when I order it in FL but this style made me nostalgic of my favorite takeout place in New Jersey growing up. Our nigiri pieces were fresh and really good quality. The toro was what I would expect from a fattier tuna belly slice. They had some different, unique rolls that were very good from a typical local family run business. I frequent local sushi places a lot in my home town and this was a step up. The only thing they didn't have that I really like is uni, but it's been a bad year for that quality wise and most places can't consistently get it and have it be good. There was no mention of their daily drink specials until I saw the small sign after we had our beverages. I missed out on the $5 Cosmo but instead had a nice $7 Long Island. The "happy hour" is a special appetizer, soup and sushi menu. Prices are discounted by $1-$2. We ordered a few hot apps: veggie tempura, and spring rolls. Both were meh. The tempura batter was too thick and not crispy. I'm not sure if it was sitting a while before it was brought out to us. It included one broccoli, many yam pieces, eggplant and one other root veggie. The spring rolls were tiny and the inside was mushy. Hubby ordered a spicy CA Roll. Honestly I can't tell you what was inside but it was not spicy and I'm not even sure of the consistency. Based on this appetizer experience we decided against dining here for a full meal.
