This space is really cute! It's definitely more of a cafe vibe rather than a restaurant, but I really liked it. The staff was really friendly. The menu wasn't as extensive as other sushi places but I found that they were able to really focus on making the items on their menu well. Their fish was very fresh and tasty. I have no complaints and I would happily go back to dine again.

This is a cute, small sushi restaurant that resembles more of a cafe. My boyfriend and I had date night here and the staff were very friendly and attentive. The restaurant wasn't busy on a saturday night so we were seated immediately. The menu is pretty limited and there are no alcoholic beverages. They do have snacks and treats on the side available to purchase. We ordered the Mango Sunshine and the Spicy Geisha Roll. Both rolls were good, but I preferred Mango Sunshine. The slice of mango on each roll was the perfect touch. It provided a nice sweetness to the roll but not overwhelmingly sweet. The Spicy Geisha Roll was a good roll but I didn't feel like there was anything special about it. I actually was not a fan of the rice cracker balls on top of the roll. They were sparse so I didn't mind too much, but if I had a choice, I would remove it from my roll. Please note both rolls are their "spicy" rolls but they weren't spicy at all.

Came here on Valentine's day weekend after finding them online since they offer sushi boxes! It is a small restaurant located by the police department. We came in right when they just opened so the restaurant was still empty/quiet but they were welcoming and very friendly, offering for us to sit wherever we liked immediately upon entering. The server was helpful with choosing our options and transparent about wait times since we were getting a box (about ~30mins) and offered waters while we waited. We ended up taking it to go because we decided we wanted to enjoy the weather outside instead. Upon opening the box to see our order, the quality looked fresh and the presentation was excellent. The Geisha Roll definitely could have been spicier, but we enjoyed the taste on all the rolls nonetheless. They also provided utensils, soy sauce (reg & low sodium), ginger and wasabi to go. Will have to come back to try more rolls in the future!

Got the medium sushi box combo (traditional, deluxe, and specialty) rolls to go for a birthday day treat. Got the California Tobiko, Tempura, Spicy Tuna, Hawaiian, Rainbow Roll, and Dragon rolls. They were all delicious but Dragon my fav! Hawaiian surprisingly good too!

sushi was good and pretty decent price point! definitely a smaller restaurant, however still worth the visit. employees are super friendly as well :)

Great place to get quality sushi. This is actually my first time dining here since they opened. I have meant to come here but never never got to. I am so glad I got to try it out today. My roll was very fresh and tasty. Their plating is also quite nice and unique despite the simple decor in the restaurant. My husband has a nice quality bento too with delicious eel sushi, and tofu skin sushi of your choice. I will definitely try to order more from them. The owner is super friendly too. Love supporting a local family run business.

I'm still discovering more sushi spots in the Central Central Costa County area but I gotta give it to IKOI Sushi Cafe, this has been my best experience. Due to Covid there's limited seating since the establishment is pretty small and narrow. Everyone there was wearing a mask following covid protocol and I loved the fact that they disinfected our table prior to being seated. Our waiter was dope and super nice. I ordered a miso soup which was very flavorful and our sushi was excellent. Not too big, not too small, and it was affordable. I liked how instead of giving us a soy sauce dispenser, they gave us packets instead. I appreciate you, IKOI SUSHI CAFE!

Such a cute little place! The owner/staff were so sweet and wonderful - gives the place great vibes. There's a good variety of sushi and sashimi/nigiri options, and the prices are very reasonable. We got a bunch of sushi rolls and nigiri, and enjoyed all of it! The decor was lovely, and they had some cool Asian snacks for purchase. Definitely worth checking it out for a casual sushi restaurant!

I always try something new when I visit, and so far, I've loved everything I've ordered. The service is another highlight. The staff is consistently friendly and attentive, and I never feel like it's a hassle to ask for extras or sides, which is something I really appreciate. There's also plenty of parking, which makes the experience even easier. I think the prices are very reasonable for the quality of the food, atmosphere, and overall experience. I got the chicken katsu and salmon teriyaki. Everything tasted really fresh and was nicely prepared. The chicken katsu was definitely my favorite it was crispy on the outside, tender inside, and had great flavor. The salmon teriyaki was also tasty, although I thought the salmon portion was a little on the small side. The option to add another item for only $4 is a great deal too. Definitely a good spot for an affordable and satisfying Japanese lunch!

Delicious, and the best thing on our table. First visit for us at Toyosu, over on Locust in Walnut Creek right next to Matsu. The sushi menu runs deep, from straightforward nigiri up to omakase and A5 wagyu, and the quality was very good across everything we ordered. Long sake list too, plus beer and wine by the glass or bottle. Plan around the size of the room. Small place. If you want to sit down without waiting, be there when they open, otherwise expect around 30 minutes. Parking is paid street parking with a big garage nearby, so you won't circle for long. Service was the standout. Nothing was open inside when we arrived, so we took the covered patio out front, and they asked whether we'd want to move indoors if a table opened. We said yes and ordered. A spot freed up after our first round and they came straight over and moved us. Doing that on a full night, unprompted, is not nothing. Noise was better than I expected. The room fills up, but we talked normally the whole meal. Ask for the soy paper wrap. Not printed anywhere on the menu, but clearly an option, and a good change if you're tired of nori. Bring someone who's actually into sushi and order wide. We'd go back.

They don't really serve the classic sushi rolls we were expecting. We mainly went because my daughter really wanted sushi, but unfortunately she didn't like the options they had and barely ate anything. I also found the portions on the small side. The prices themselves weren't unreasonable, but they felt a bit high for the amount of food you get. That said, I personally enjoyed what I ordered. It just wasn't the kind of sushi experience I was expecting. I guess this visit taught us that next time we'll check the menu first instead of choosing a sushi place based only on the ratings.

Tucked away in Walnut Creek, this is the perfect intimate, casual sushi spot for a relaxed date night or dinner with friends. The welcoming atmosphere, attentive service, and fresh ingredients made for an outstanding dining experience. We started with the shrimp and vegetable tempura, which arrived hot, crispy, and perfectly light without feeling greasy. It was the ideal appetizer to share. For our rolls, we ordered the Volcano Roll, featuring spicy tuna and shrimp tempura, and the Arizona Roll, made with crab and topped with seared albacore. Both were beautifully presented and packed with flavor. The freshness of the fish was the star of the meal. The seared albacore on the Arizona Roll practically melted in your mouth, and every bite had a clean, fresh taste that showcased the quality of the ingredients. The Volcano Roll delivered a delicious combination of textures and flavors, with just the right amount of spice and crunch. Nothing was overpowering--you could truly taste the freshness of the fish and the care that went into each roll. The restaurant was spotless, and the staff were friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming throughout our visit. Fresh fish, crispy tempura, creative rolls, and exceptional hospitality make this a standout sushi destination in Walnut Creek. The only downside? Once you finish your last piece, you'll wish you had ordered more. We enjoyed our experience so much that we're already looking forward to coming back to try the omakase, which will definitely be on our next order.

Parking was a bit tricky as they had some sort of event and a lot of the streets were closed off so I had to drive around a bunch of times. Luckily I came earlier than my reservation time. I ordered the spicy edamame for appetizer, but it wasn't spicy and lacked a little in flavor/seasoning. I still ate it as I needed some sort of vegetables. For my food, I ordered my favorite salmon melt! This is a must order when you come. Always a hit! (I dipped my edamame in the sauce and it added great flavor to it lol) They had a Mother's Day special for handrolls and I was tempted to try it but didn't want to be super full, so I got two nigiri's instead; one hamachi and one spicy scallop. Both were so good! I would definitely order it again. Hamachi was fresh and soft. Easy to chew. Spicy scallop was made with a spicy mayo and cut up into pieces. Both were really good portion sizes.
