3 of us went here this afternoon, and it was such a treat!! Each of us got the custard taiyaki. It came out piping hot and made it 1000% better! The custard on the inside was creamy, warm, and delicious, and the outside batter was perfectly crispy. We again got the OG snow bowl with red bean, and the Green snow bowl with red bean. The seating inside is on the smaller end, it isn't big compared to some of the other places next door (Tous les Jours, Da Maat), but about an hour before closing I was still able to get a table. I ordered a green snow bowl and mozzarella cheese taiyaki. The taiyaki is made fresh on the spot and I appreciate it. It came out hot and when I took a bite there was a nice cheese pull and a light crunch. The green snow was a matcha snow bowl with red bean directly on top and red bean in the middle. The combination was a great match because the taiyaki was hot and salty, while the snow was sweet and cold. It's funny too because after I finished eating, the employee also told me that this selection of items is unanimously agreed to be the best order (a cheese taiyaki with green snow) to get here according to every employee. Bingsu is one of those delicious treats that is refreshing on a summer's day! And if you're in California, a summer's day can happen in the middle of May! This place is adorable. It reminds me of a cute cafe in those Korean Drama's that are all over Netflix now (squee!) and I love it! There are some chairs for customers to sit in, and you order at the front cashier. Aside from bingsu they also have drinks (hot and cold) as well as pastries and cookies. I got the strawberry mini snow cup and my husband got the blueberry mini snow cup. And they were adorable! The strawberry was not too sweet, super cold, was lined with many cuts of strawberries, and sort of melting by the time we got it with the consistency of almost ice cream. It was really good! The blueberry was super cold, with frozen blueberries on top and with what seemed like corn flakes sprinkled beneath it. Again the consistency was like ice cream with maybe sweetened condensed milk. I liked my strawberry more because I didn't care for the crunch of the flakes and it made it too sweet in my opinion. Parking is easy as there's a big lot in front of the cafe. We were first introduced to bingsoo in Seattle a few years ago and then really fell in love with it on a recent trip to Hawaii. Bingsoo, or snow bowl as they refer to to it, is a Korean shaved ice dessert with sweet toppings. We opted for their strawberry snow bowl & an Oreo snow bowl. They were both delicious. Adorable bingsu spot in Torrance with a variety of sweets and drinks. I always dine at the Korean restaurant a few doors down and visit Okrumong for dessert. There's always plenty of parking and it's pretty quiet in the plaza which is nice. They offer Bingsu in many flavors, taiyaki and other baked goods, coffee and tea for those skipping dessert. I always opt for the Injeolmi bingsu (soy powder) and custard taiyaki. The bingsu is perfectly powdery, creamy and nutty - with a generous portion of red bean on the side. The custard taiyaki is made to order - it takes a while for the staff to make but the freshly made crust and chewy inner filling is worth the wait. The only real downside to Okrumong is the price. I can't justify spending $13 on shaved ice all the time, and there's good dessert in the area for a fraction of what you'd pay here! read more

I usually don't crave shaved ice, but after having dinner in town, I wanted some dessert, and Okrumong wasn't far away. I decided to give it a try and headed over. It's a cute little dessert-café just next door to King's Hawaiian and the interior décor is very cute: it's to resemble the coffee scene in Korea, and I really liked how comfy, intimate, yet classy it was. I ordered a mini sesame bingsoo, as I was way too full from dinner to tackle the original size: the shaved ice was nice and powdery, melt-in-your-mouth good. Sesame flavor was on-point, although I wish there was more sesame added to it: towards the end, I didn't have enough sesame and was basically eating plain frozen water. Tasty was pretty good, though. I will say that I wish the bingsoo were served in nicer bowls, instead of disposable plastic cups-- besides making for a more aesthetically-pleasing dish, it'd be easier to dig through the shaved ice while eating. Overall, decent spot for a sweet dessert fix. I will say the mini bingsoo were a bit pricey at almost $7, especially since it's just ice with some flavorings and toppings. Wow wow wow! This place is the cutest Korean cafe I've been to lately. The aesthetic reminds me of the little cafes in South Korea. Not too sweet, cheese flavor was very pronounced, and texture was creamy and decadent. It was my favorite type of cheesecake: dense, indulgent, but not toooo heavy. It's not a cheesecake with the graham cracker crust, which I prefer. I ordered additional slices to bring home with me. Oreo snow bowl: 4/5. Perfect treat for a hot summer day. Tldr: if you're looking for korean dessert comfort food spot, this is the place Been here a couple times and finally decided to write a review. The desserts here are nice comfort food. This time around I got the mini Oreo snow with a side of mochi and custard-filled taiyaki. The oreo mini snow was topped with a small scoop of cookies and cream ice cream, and oreo piece, and chocolate sauce. The texture was very fluffy and the mochi was nice and chewy. The taiyaki took an extra couple minutes since it was freshly being made but it was definitely worth the wait. The outside crust was crisp but light when I bit into it. The mochi texture inside was similar to the side order of mochi that we got. Those two paired with the creamy custard in the middle was delicious! Have been here before many times and will keep coming back again.
