Gorgeous French bakery with a range of sweet and savory breads and cakes as well as larger breakfast fare. Every pastry looks beautiful and with such a huge selection it's hard to decide. The coffee is great too and stays on theme. I ordered a cafe au lait and, without being too expensive, really evoked memories of my mornings in Europe. I came on a slower Sunday morning, but the service was tip top, with the attendant ready to help with selections and walk me through the menu. This is a new location with one other store located in the heart of Hermosa Beach. Honestly, I enjoy this location more with it being easy to access without fighting beach tourism traffic. That Lady and I are refugees from the Palisades Fire and ended up staying a friend in PV. After three days of hospitality we had to move on, but before we left we took our hostess out for breakfast. We found Cafe Bonaparte on a side street, a day earlier. Having sampled some Parisian-style pastries we wanted to try their bakery. Well their Creations are wonderful. Their croissants, twists and brioche are incredible. They have various toasts, the ladies went fort salmon toast and I enjoyed a prosciutto omelette with a small side salad and brioches. Since I came for breakfast, I asked for a menu, found a table, went back to the counter to order and pay. Drinks and food are delivered to the table. Staff are patient, efficient, and friendly. I ordered a small latte and Croque Madame. All good. This location hasn't been open long but has quite a bit of business. Great looking pastries and desserts. This is a fun new restaurant established in the Riviera Village of Redondo Beach. They have a nice outdoor dining space as well as interior tables within the restaurant. What they are offer is tons of great bakery items, plus a lot of small or full meals. Notably, they also have a very nice selection of items for breakfast. This restaurant opens early, seven days a week. So, it's a great place to grab that early latte, to-go, bakery item, or anything else on the menu. In the early part of the day this is basically a grab and go sort of service. Though, if you want go for one of their meals, they do bring it to your table. In the evening, however, starting at 4 PM, they offer full table-service. If you want to come here to have a nice dinner, this is definitely a great choice. Overall, this is a great new addition to the area. They are truly unique in what they offer and their level of service. If I have one observation it is that the outdoor tables are a little too close together. Meaning, if there's a lot of people here, it can get a little cramped. I get that they hope to accommodate as many people as possible, but sometimes less is more. Overall, however, this doesn't take away from the overall level of their food and service. Whenever there is a french cafe, i have been more inclined to check out. Service: You can either sit down and they will serve your or you can go to the counter and they can bring it to you. Ambiance: Relatively small spot where you can maybe fit two parties of 6 and a couple of two seaters. You can eat outside too since it is near the beach. Food: the food, the reason why you can come to any cafe is the food. I was reading my bible while enjoying a bacon and egg crossant sandwich. ( you can get on wheat toast if you prefer). I got a vanilla latte as well. Coffee presentation was just your typical plastic cup. I hope next time they can serve it in a glass if served here. Delish none the less. Then the sandwich it self was a lot bigger than i thought which is always great. The french is known for their bread and pastries and it did not disappoint. Rivera Village seems to always be coming out with cute new places and Cafe Bonaparte is a welcome addition. It's a cafe as its name implies so order up front and seat yourself. I was feeling a cappuccino and omelette so I opted for their Ratatouille omelette. It hits the spot when you want a no nonsense breakfast by the ocean. If that's not your plan then at least grab some pastries cause they all look amazing. That's probably the main reason I want to come back: to try their pastries and desserts. Lovely little restaurant in Redondo. The service was good and if you sit outside, you'll get a great view of the ocean. My friends were disappointed in their meals. The croque monsieur was dry and the quiche didn't taste fresh and the portion was very small for the price. I had the Mexican omelette and I thought it was delicious, although it didn't look like it would be good. The baguette and jam were so yummy. You go inside to order, then they give you a number and you seat yourself. They bring the food out to you. There's metered parking in front of the restaurant, but it was free today. Happy Holidays! Located off Ave I in Redondo Beach. Parking can be tough with all the businesses around since it's metered street parking. This place is fairly new and recently opened. They have a pretty good extended menu of pastries and other eats since it is a cafe. The workers were friendly and helpful. I got the dark chocolate flourless it was good and not overly chocolaty or overly sweet. Also got a butter croissant to take home and it was fresh and good as well. The place is nice inside good amount of tables. Overall a good dessert spot. I'll have to come back and try more. read more

On a cold and drizzly day, the atmosphere at Cafe Bonaparte was warm and inviting. It was our first time here. My caprese sandwich was deliciously flavorful! The side of greens would have been better if it included tomatoes. My husband's side of turkey and rice soup was a perfect choice on a good day. I wish the side of soup was a little bigger- it was gone entirely too fast. My husband said that his turkey sandwich was "good, but not great." We finished our meal with the Chocolate Fantasy cake. Honestly, it was just ok - a normal chocolate cake about the size of the palm of your hand. The atmosphere was intimate and inviting. The service was quick and accurate. I really tried to love it, but maybe I should have tried their pastries instead of their drinks! I grabbed an iced matcha (which cost me about 10 freakin dollars!) and it was definitely made with the lower quality matcha they could source. I should have known though, because I asked for it to be unsweetened, only for them to tell me that the matcha powder already comes sweetened (red flag!!!). So glad they opened up a location in Redondo Beach. I've been to the Hermosa location before but I think I prefer the ambience of this new RB location, it's more spacious and has more of a modern bistro cafe feel. Like the other location, there's both indoor and outdoor seating, but parking is much easier here. The staff is friendly and helpful, makes everything right on the spot. The array of food options is extensive, it's a great place for breakfast, brunch, lunch. Their espresso, coffees and teas are decent (can be hit or miss). I've stopped here more for their pastries, breakfast items, and salads, not so much for the drinks. I have not had a food item here that I haven't liked. Their all day menu has some appealing entrees, which I'll have to try at a future visit. read more

First office Service; Devon they and the rest of the small staff have been great every time we have been there they have been very helpful with choices and making sure we were ok. Food wow, so far everything has been really good. The Salad's (have not had the chicken yet), the prosciutto and spinach pizza a little salty but in a good way. The boeuf bourguignon really good, but missing the onion for me. I'm looking forward to the dry aged burger and the croque madame. All in a a good food place right near the beach so nice to go for a walk after or before the meal. Note: I had gone to the other one before near like king harbor or something, not as good as this one was. The staff are really nice! It's also a great place to grab a quick coffee. It's like a block from the beach. Bonaparte is an ideal food stop for your beach day. We went here recently, on a recommendation from someone and all I can say is OH MY GOD. This cute little coffee shop, quietly and modestly tucked away -- has the absolute best coffee my husband and I ever had. It was pure perfection. We ordered cappuccinos and lattes, and it was so smooth and delicious, we are now ruined for places like Starbucks and the like. Their pastries are made right there in the kitchen, not brought in from another location, and the taste shows. We were in heaven enjoying them so much, we took some home. The taste is fresh and so pure, like you've stepped into a café in Paris. Best of all, the staff were so kind and hospitable. They were friendly and went out of their way for us, making us feel like we were visiting someone's home, and were the guests of honor. We love love love this place, and have quickly become regulars! It is by far the best coffee and pastry shop in the Southbay. Also, they have a full menu and dinner that starts in the evening that is super popular as well. We used to go to yellow vase for coffee and treats, but after trying this place, I highly recommend you give it a try because it put yellow vase to shame.
