Our first visit and had a nice experience. I would describe OLA Restobar as a sports bar with music and new age Mexican menu selections (authentic with a twist?). Large inside dining areas, but it was a little loud, so we opted to sit on their small, street front patio. SERVICE: Very good, thanks to Valeria and the rest of the wait staff. Even the restaurant's Security was nice and acknowledged us every time they walked by. DRINK / FOOD: I had the Mexican Candy Flight margaritas ($14.50) which included Watermelon, Mango, and Tamarind samplers, very sweet. Delia had a Paloma ($21), which she thoroughly enjoyed. We shared two appetizers: Stacked Taquitos ($12.99) topped with sour cream and cheese, with guacamole and salsa verde; and the Queso Fundido OLA ($16.99), topped with 3 meats (Carne Asada, Chorizo, and Carnitas) and jalapeños. Cool spot with good food! Only reason why I'm not giving it 5 stars is because they don't make substitutions to their breakfast burrito (like not making it with pork for my friend's religious dietary reasons). Other than that, their menu is large and has many options. The service is great and food comes out pretty quickly. We came here to get a drink and hang out before going to our second location. We had always driven by here and knew of people who came to this place so we decided to check it out for ourselves. We got here in the early afternoon around 2 pm or so and due to a few sporting events happening at that time, there was a decent crowd, but nothing too crazy, which we enjoyed. I think this place must get really packed later in the evening/night especially when there is a big game/event happening. We sat inside, where there was plenty of seating; there is also good seating on the outdoor patio facing the downtown area. I got a drink that I didn't realize at the time was more like 2-3 drinks in one and came with fruit and Mexican candy, called the Cazuelazo; I opted to change the tequila to Don Julio to be more to my liking and all in all, it It tasted good. We also tried the Mexcian candy shots, which were pleasantly good as well and come with a Tajin rim; and their chips and guacamole are tasty (get w/o cheese if vegan/alergic). All the other staff did amazing checking in with us too. I got the good morning burger, and overall it was quite solid. When she came back another 10min later we got to place out orders. We arrived at 10:40, it's 1:37 right now, and my water still has yet to be filled a second time. I guess we have to ask for water as well for everything else. Between getting out drinks and wanting to order another drink it was 20min in between. When I ordered the second mango margarita she informed me that it was past 12 and would be regular price. Idk I ordered the queso fundido and also the two eggs Benedict Chile l. So their Benedict's plate, came with a salad, I don't remember reading anywhere it saying they put walnuts in their salad. I'm allergic to walnuts. So I had to ask them I take it back, wait again. But not I'm afraid to eat my food. Also the queso gets hard fast and it's not tasty unless you rush to eat it. Overall they could use more staff or better train their staff. Also make sure certain food plates like salad have the correct description of what they contain. I'm pretty sure they took the plate back and just removed the walnuts I highly doubt they made a fresh different salad so I didn't bother to eat it because it honestly looked like the same plate. Staff is super attentive and friendly. I love picture menus! Pretty drinks! Cons: the music was so loud- we had to shout to hear each other if we weren't right next to each other. Pictures showed huge plates and drinks but what came to the table in real life was not so much. The drinks were more sweet than they were stiff. Limited options for brunch. The spot was busy. It seems that lots of people come here to try the drinks, especially the michelada, margarita & mimosa flights. It's a little pricey..but then again everything is these days. I'd come back for the menudo that is only available on weekends, and I would like to try the non-brunch menu as well. Portions weren't big, but they were enough. Plates are in the $13-17 range. I visited this restaurant recently and was extremely disappointed After I paid and left, I discovered that the staff had fraudulently added a tip to my debit card without my authorization. I did not leave a tip on the receipt, yet somehow, one appeared on my final charge. This is credit card fraud, plain and simple, and completely unacceptable. I called the restaurant and I spoke with the manager, who told me "there's nothing we can do." That's completely unacceptable. A business should take responsibility for fraudulent activity, especially when it's coming from within their own staff. I've since reported the transaction to my bank and am considering further action with the appropriate authorities. If you decide to eat here, check your receipts and your bank statement very carefully. What could've been a decent experience was completely ruined by dishonesty. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! read more

My girlfriend and I took my parents here for brunch and it was an awesome experience! Aside from being loud from the music, they had an excellent variety for lunch and the service was spot on! We were seated right away and our waitress was delightful! We ordered 3 coffees and they were well presented, on a wooden board with cream, sugar and cookies! We proceeded to order and the food came out quickly! I ordered the pork belly Benedict with a banana Nutella crepe and it was delicious! I'm not generally a benedict person, but the addition of pork belly made all the difference! It was served with a hearty bowl of fruit as well. My girlfriend ordered the pancakes and although she wished it came with a little more syrup, she was pleased with consistency and presentation. This is my second trip to OLA. Had to text my son I was coming because I know it is one of his favorites. I was meeting a friend and i started with a flight of mimosas. At $4.99 before noon it was too good to pass. Don't judge, it was 11:50 AM. The drinks were very good and I was laughing because everyone took up their pre noon offer. When my friend showed up we decided that the last time we ordered the OLA Platter with taquitos, nachos, guacamole and more. It was really good and the two of us barely made a dent into it. Thank goodness we both have hungry teenagers that would love to have leftovers. Place was really nice although the music was a bit loud for a lunch at noon. The drinks had too much tajin but not enough alcohol. Now about the food. Huge menu and a lot to choose from. Often It is way too loud in there and often difficult to hear a conversation your trying to have with the person next to you. I heard recently they adjusted the volume some. Yes I get it was friday night and everyone is there to party but when you cant even hear the person sitting next to you, or you cant hear what the waitress is saying then the music is overly loud. Just a really weird encounter with security. We were a group of four that just came from Color Me Mine looking for somewhere to grab dinner. We get to the front, show our ID's to the first security guard and for whatever reason the second security guard standing right next to him asks to see them too--fine, whatever. Our friend stuck her ID back in her bag without putting it in her wallet, so she made a light joke while digging for it. All of a sudden, the second security guard says she's drunk and can't come in. We're all genuinely confused, because we're all stone cold sober and between coming from work, to painting figurines, to going to the restaurant, we wouldn't have even had a chance to get drunk. We ask the guard what makes him think she's drunk and he can't give us a reason why and just says it's policy that if he thinks someone's drunk, they can't come in. I ask to speak to a manager, he says we can call the restaurant to speak to a manager--and of course there's no way to connect with someone directly when calling the number and their mailbox is full. I go back with one friend, whom the security guard didn't say was drunk, and we go inside. The first security guard was going to let us in because he seen us literally 15 seconds ago, the second security guard demands to see our ID's again. While waiting at the front I ask the manager Geo what's the basis for determining if someone's drunk, he also can't give me a clear answer but offers that if my friend comes back, he himself can make that call. I ask for the security guards' names, he says something along the lines of Hector and Luis. It's loud inside, so I walk outside to call my friends to ask if they'd like to try again--they were uncomfortable and would rather meet at a nearby bar. That's fine, the other friend and myself will wrap up here and leave. I ask the security guards their names and they give me different names than what the manager tells us. I find it weird and was just gonna bring it up to the manager before my friend and I left. The two of us go back inside and while waiting to get seated, the security guard comes into the restaurant and tells us we need to leave. I ask him why and he says it's for customers only. I tell him we're customers and are waiting to get seated and he just stands there looking stupid before he walks back outside. We're about to get seated but at this point I'm annoyed, because between the security guard saying my friend was drunk when she wasn't, to the security guard telling us we couldn't go inside to talk to the manager and that we can call the restaurant, knowing that there's no way to get in contact with a live person and the voicemail box is full, to both the security guards and the manager lying about their names, to the security guard coming into the restaurant to tell us to leave because he's worried about us talking to the manager, it was all just so unnecessary and immature. I'm curt with the manager and address these issues, he gets stressed. Suddenly it's policy to not give us the names of the security guards--which is fine, but why couldn't Geo just tell me that in the first place instead of lying to me? If they would've cut the bs and been honest with me, I would've been gone and way less upset a long time ago. Geo brings out his general manager Camille who asks what the issue is, I retell the story and she confirms they can't tell us the security guards' names, which makes no sense to me, but I appreciate her being upfront instead of trying to lie her way out of it like the security guards and Geo. We go outside to speak with the problem security guard and he makes excuses at to why he came inside to try to pull us out, saying we could check the cameras to try and offset the conversation, which the general manager agreed was unnecessary. He then made the excuse that the entry way needed to be clear--but we were already inside and the doors were closed, so we obviously weren't obstructing anything. He keeps trying to make other ridiculous excuses and at this point I'm fed up. I tell him that the reason this is all an issue and explain to him that if he didn't have a clear basis as to why he made all these stupid decisions, then the next step is just to say sorry. I accept his half-assed apology and leave, the second I walk away from the podium the security guard is running to the general manger to make excuses and mope. Very disappointing. The biggest kicker was that after we ate at another restaurant and left around 11pm, we drove past the restaurant to see that the security guards weren't even at the front anymore. This restaurant has gotten A LOT of 1-star reviews in the past 30 days, so I hope they take into consideration that maybe taking some accountability and doing a little bit of growing up instead of trying to be sneaky and lie to customers could do wonders for their reviews in the future. read more
