We are long time residents of TRL. I have heard wonderful things about Old 76 Smokehouse. We tried it this past weekend and were not disappointed. We shared a combo platter with ribs, brisket, pulled pork, coleslaw and beans. I would put this bbq up against any of the Kansas City BBQ mainstays. Food and service were outstanding! We went in one day last week and I guess they were very busy. The guy running the counter did say that they were out of a lot of things as they make things daily and we did get there close to closing time. I appreciated the honesty, so I figured we would try again later in the trip We went back the next day and ordered a family dinner which included 3 meats and some sides. We had a ton of food and really enjoyed. We were very happy we went back. The key lime pie and bread pudding were good as well. We were having a 3 brothers reunion on Indian Point and needed dinner for our last night together. Old 76 was perfect. Great vibe, delicious food and the people who work there are the best. Really made us feel at home. Their sides are homemade - excellent slaw, potato salad, beans - and dinner rolls light as a cloud. Their meats are top notch. Great brisket, ribs and bologna, which was a surprise. If there was one thing I would suggest steering clear of, the chicken is a little dry. We rolled into Branson, went to the condo, unloaded our gear, and decided it was time for dinner. First place I came across on Yelp was this place. Good reviews so we thought we'd give it a try. We got the full rack of ribs platter to split, including mac n cheese, onion rings, and the homemade roll. The onion rings were freshly cooked and awesome. The mac n cheese was excellent! The ribs were the best I've had in quite some time. Not heavy on the spice rub, falling off the bone, and tender. My wife and I were quite happy. We had to get a quitter box to take the rest with us for lunch the next day. Oh, and the roll was just wow. Go support this outstanding local business. read more

Wow, incredible food. The portions are huge and the meat is smoked to perfection. The loaded BBQ nachos can feed a table. My wife's loaded bake potato was so large she will get thee meals out of it. Best meal we had in a Branson!! And we went to some great restaurants. Very unassuming being attached to a gas station but don't let that fool you!! Very welcoming atmosphere and staff. Ribs were fall off the bone tender and a half rack was more that enough. Loved all the sides we had which included the corn casserole, the "pit beans", and the potato salad. Brisket was fork tender, burgers were big and juicy with great flavor. Try it!! You won't be disappointed. Expect this place to be in a stand alone location next time we come up from Louisiana because they will need more seating! read more

Everything was delicious with a great smoked flavor. Beans were on point. I got the lean brisket and would have liked to of tried the fatty.

this place is a little gem. 10 minutes from us- I tried it out today for lunch with a friend. it was so good I toomy mom & dad lunch and delivered to them in Lampe, Then stopped back through and brought home dinner. my favorite is the chicken but if the chicken is sold out you cannot go wrong with the Prime Rib or pulled pork! please don't forget the delicious sides or the key lime pie! Tried calling in an order and was told there not taking call ins but welcomed to come get take out. Ordered at 11:58 and waited til 12;53 to get food. Ordered 2 bologna sandwiches and a chicken sandwich. Plates looked good. Nice presentation. Chicken sandwich was tasty but the smoked and seared bologna did not have a lot of smoke. Forget to add my order of onion rings and I didn't look before leaving. Ordered the bread pudding which they were out of so key lime pie was second choice and it was pretty good.
