Definitely a smaller quaint location, with MAX 10 tables; so if you plan on coming on a busy night I would highly recommend placing reservations. We went on a Tuesday night and the place was already packed. The server, at least on the day we went, was working OVER TIME. There was only 1 server and she operated as the bar tender, hostess, and server. I understand that its a small location but she was running and was still incredibly friendly despite the fact. The food is amazing. Everything we ordered was absolutely fantastic and we had a lot. We tried the Fire Fish Soozi, the Salmon Poke Bowl, the chicken Karaage, Garlic chicken noodles, and the Fried beef with garlic fried rice. I know a lot of the dishes have garlic in their name, just know that garlic is quite predominant flavor amongst multiple dishes. This is a great place to relax and enjoy some teas. The parking lot is pretty small but you can park along the street as well. There's not a lot of seating and it's not meant for big parties. We tried the tea sample (got 3 different teas to try) and they'll refill it with hot water as many times as you want. You can probably go through 2 or 3 pots of water for each tea but allow about 30 minutes for each pot. It also came with 3 smaller food items that we got to try and surprisingly, it's pretty reasonable at $39 per person. The nice thing is, you only get charged for one person while everyone else at your table can also try the tea. Service was good and very friendly. As for the food, it was pretty good, not out of this world but you're going for the tea and not necessarily the food (IMO). read more

I love a tea service! I love trying different teas. I saw that Old Asia Teahouse has a ceremonial tea service, but didn't pay attention to when they have them. Just on weekends between 2-4. I made reservations for 6:30 on a Sunday, so the ceremony was out; next time! I really recommend reservations, it's a pretty small place. Street parking, which wasn't too hard to find on a Sunday evening. I went with my sister, I ordered a hot cinnamon spice black tea and my sister got the dragon well tea. We did share a couple things. She ordered lentil soup with roti, it's vegan and gluten free. I ordered the tea leaf salad, also vegan and gluten free. We exchanged tastes and they were both good. She got the chicken nikudango all to herself. For dessert, we ordered Gold Bullion Cake: Bullion shape cake made with almond to share (VG, DF, GF) she also got the sooji cake to go. I went with a friend and we decided to share a few small plates -- every single one was delicious and beautifully presented. We started with Beef Masala Skewer -- yogurt-marinated beef with a Masala spice blend. The two skewers were perfectly seasoned and cooked -- so tender I could cut them with a fork. The flavor was rich, savory, and deeply satisfying. For our vegetable dish, we ordered the Stir-Fried Snap Peas with roasted garlic. The snap peas were crisp and perfectly cooked, and the garlic added just the right amount of depth. The portion was generous, too! We also tried the Chicken Karaage, sake-marinated fried chicken served with spicy Kewpie mayo. This classic Japanese dish didn't disappoint -- crispy, flavorful, and comforting. And last but not least, the the Salmon Poke Tower -- fresh salmon, sesame, avocado, mango, and cilantro. The salmon was melt-in-your-mouth fresh, and the flavors of mango, sesame, and the sauce came together perfectly. This might have been my favorite dish of the night! It all made for the perfect amount of food for two people. We drank some decaf green tea and enjoyed every moment of the experience. I love the concept of an Asian teahouse that offers various Asian fare! The decor and interior lends itself to oriental and romantic vibes. My husband and I came on a Saturday around noon. Since the space is small, I think it's recommended to come with a reservation as the seats can fill up quick but we came with no reservation and it wasn't an issue. We ordered a couple of teas, a Ginseng Tea and Burmese Tea. For food, we ordered a Chicken Karaage, Lentil Soup with Roti, and a Tea Leaf Laphet Thoke (Tea Leaf Salad). They carefully craft their drinks, it's like watching a bartender make a cocktail but instead of a cocktail, it's a tea drink. I love the Burmese Tea because of how earthy it was and the taste was complimented by the oat milk. Let me explain: Went to check out this new Teahouse and restaurant right off of Lombard Road (around Ktown BBQ and Carina's Bakery area) Their parking lot is tiny maybe 1 spot and 1 disabled parking spot but there is plenty of street parking around that area. This restaurant is not very big and you can tell they put a lot of effort into their decor to create a cozy and intimate setting with the dim lighting, bright red lanterns, and blue porcelain patterned dishes. It's truly a blend of traditional and modern vibes. We also got the booth (which I would say can comfortably sit 4 people max) and some other seating arrangements by the wall but not many tables altogether, excluding bar seating. The food menu is Asian fusion including small plates to share and 4 entrées and dessert options, but everything was delicious! The sauce on the Agedashi Tofu was light and flavored the soft tofu very well. Chicken Nikudango (chicken meatballs) was bouncy but the sauce was spicy and I don't think there was an indication of that on the menu. Our favorites had to be the Fried Beef with Garlic Sauce (MUST GET!) and the Stir Fried Snap Peas was the crowd favorite. This was a good amount of food to share among the 3 of us with no leftovers. Service was super fast and friendly and she came to check on us several times throughout our meal. We got a pot of the Green Tangerine Pu-erh and there was the typical tea preparation performed at your table: opening up the ball of tea and "rinsing" the first round of water unto the tea animal (ours was a cute tiger I'm not sure if they have different ones) If I may make a suggestion, since this is labeled as a Teahouse, I would have loved to learn more about the tea with perhaps a little card describing the tea origin and blend, have a timer for the most optimal seeping time at the table and hot water for us to add ourselves with our pot. Came here with my friend for the afternoon tea and this place did not disappoint. The inside is on the smaller side and feels cozy but not cramped. For their afternoon tea, they have a solid selection with some lower caffeine options for those who have a lower tolerance (me lol). We both loved the blue people oolong so much that we bought some to take home. The small bites that are included were different from what I've had at other places, which was nice because it felt like there was more variety. You also get a pretty good sized Donburi bowl which makes it feel like a meal. The service was great and the staff were knowledgeable about the teas. Love that there's a Teahouse in Beaverton that serves quality tea AND delicious food - these aren't just tiny sweet bites, they're savory entrees! The menu is a mix of pan Asian dishes, ranging from karaage to beef masala to garlic noodles prepared by the lovely co-owner; it's run by a couple and is a small family owned business! For two women, we ordered: Garlic noodles with tofu Salmon Poké Nasi Lemak with chicken A pot of Chrysanthemum pu'er tea Would certainly order it all again, but also eager to try some of their other small plates and entrees + dessert. Each dish is tasty with balanced flavors, the textures are just perfect (crispy anchovies, well cooked chicken, a soft but good chew on the noodle) and it was all carefully plated and prepared with thoughtfulness. Was especially pleased to start the meal with the salmon Poké, it was fresh with the bites of mango and cucumber plus a lovely light refreshing ponzu sauce. You can tell they care about their service and what they're serving! Not to mention the very cute decor and the little touches, like the adorable cat soy sauce bottle. Now, let's talk about the tea! They do tea service for pots of tea at your table - highly recommend for two or more people. They do the pouring of the first "rinse" and advise you on how long to see to the tea before your first cup. We had the chrysanthemum pu'er tea and it was a lovely blend that I could drink all day - very smooth fragrant. I love tea, and am delighted that there's an Asian tea experience on this side of town. As much as I enjoy a high tea experience, you have to reserve well in advance and it typically costs you $50/person so it's not something you can experience on a whim. But with Old Asia Teahouse, you get an intimate setting to slow down, catch up with friends and savor a few food cups of tea. They have an extensive tea menu, rotating seasonal teas as well as a create-your-own menu! If you've been to Waba or the previous versions of the various pocha's (Korean street style food shop) expect to be surprised. It's been completely renovated and has a Teahouse vibe. We wanted to start off with tea since they have a great selection. The waiter did a really good job explaining them and made recommendations based on what was to our liking. We started off with the chicken meatballs, yum definitely recommend and the crispy fish, which was also really good. We had the asparagus and the lentil soup with roti, now these two weren't as delicious fell short on flavor and salt. For the mains we had, lemak with chicken, and egg with curry sauce. The chicken was ok the egg curry was however flavorful we enjoyed it. And for dessert we had the sooji cake with coconut ice cream. It doesn't come with ice cream but paired together it's a delicious combination. All in all the service was better than the food. I was expecting some spectacular food. We went around for 10 minutes and couldn't find parking and some areas were kinda sketchy so had to order to go. We got seated two tables in from the front door, majority of seating is close to the door and I was cold! Granted it's December. There was maybe 2-3 booths that were seated away from the door off in a corner that didn't look like it catches too much cold air so that was good to know. It was great for a little date night. It's based around "small plates". We ordered the Poke tower, Garlic noodles and Garlic asparagus and ended with the crème brûlée cheesecake. It was a perfect amount for two people. I'd like to go again and order more including different things with friends. I enjoyed the ambiance and the service was attentive and kind. We also ordered two different teas, which was the highlight of our experience considering the establishment. This place opened in the fall of 2023. The owners of Top Burmese also own this establishment. I had learned about it on Yelp, Google maps, and Top Burmese, and was definitely curious to try this place out. It's absolutely adorable inside. It feels like an authentic tea shop in Asia or New York City. It's got a moody, but cozy dark vibe. Very sleek, chic, urban, but also traditional. Upon arrival, you see the expansive bar in the middle - it's definitely a bar, but instead of alcohol it's adorn with tea, tea pots, loose leaf, and all the assortments. This is a great place to go to after visiting the Japanese or Chinese garden. In the summer there is also an outside tea garden too to enjoy. I just visited here (November 2024) during the rainy months. The tea house is perfect to visit in the evening or on a chilly day. We ordered two different chai tea drinks. My favorite one was the ginger based one which was loaded with flavor. Next time we might ordered a tea pot since the presentation is even more elaborate. We also ordered the lentil soup with bread, which was tasty. Lastly, we ordered the garlic noodles with tofu to share. Everything was delicious and nicely prepared and presented. The only major con is the restaurant is quite small. We were in a corner so it seemed more spacious, but we were still caught quite close to the door. Another couple also came in after us and bumped something on there table and it came crashing and breaking down. It probably was a water glass or the cute little cat soy sauce containers. Either way it was definitely a startle and everyone in the tea house was a bit alarmed. Our table was extremely cluttered for just two people. I think it would be almost impossible to have more in your party with such limited space. I was thinking of organizing a tea for friends possibly here, but I would definitely need a reservation and an explanation on the overall set up of the space due to the space constraints (not the best set up for people with claustrophobic issues). They plan to have outdoor seating in the summer and would be able to serve more folks. This is definitely a place for a quiet date night or to sip tea and catch up with a friend - not for a large group unless you're doing a private dining room thing. Tea - so many options! So far I've tried a few oolong varieties and pu-erhs, all delicious and served in different vessels and cups. I love the variety! My only warning is that you will want to drink way more tea than normal and be left awake all night if you go in at night... they have some non caffeinated options for that problem. Food, like all the Top Burmese family locations, is delicious. I could eat the spicy fish with a side of rice all day every day. Desserts pair well with the teas and aren't super sweet - the Hojicha raindrop cake was so good. They also have some cocktails which I've yet to try. To start off- I will say the inside ambience inside was cute despite being considerably cramped. Unfortunately the restaurant has no central AC, so opt out for outside dining during hot days. We attended for a Mother's Day lunch. There were a few groups in the outside dining area. Nothing too crazy. Not sure why dishes took so long to get out, but we'll get there. For our apps we got two poke towers & the tuna. One of the poke had no sauce on the dish at all while the other was drowning in it; nearly waving for a lifebuoy. My tuna had an eye lash or nose hair neatly atop of the dish as well. For taking nearly a half hour to bring out apps one would think that those details might have been caught before serving. Most of the table got the fried beef; which seemed like a cube brisket overcooked. Very chewy. I & another got the chicken dish. Chicken was lacking in flavor & coconut rice seemed slightly undercooked. More crunch than I would have preferred for rice. Also- having a background in plating dishes I wasn't sure why there was a pile of fried anchovies on the plate? Perhaps a few over the rice to garnish, but a whole handful? Interesting. One of us ordered a matcha latte & it seemed the restaurant couldn't get it right if the experience depended on it. The tea experience where they did the initial wash was also a flop. Our server had spilled the tea onto the table during the presentation. Overall not sure if we would attend again. Was feeling hungry afterwards & considered getting our fill at Raising Canes.
