Old Crown is the best coffee shop in Fort Wayne, hands down! They have an enormous selection of coffee, roasted on the premises. Their special Clover single-cup coffee maker makes an incredible cup of coffee. I've done the head-to-head comparison of coffee prepared with the Clover versus the drip method and, well, there's really no comparison! The small selection of food is decent and fresh. But, stay tuned, because they're moving across the street soon to a bigger place and creating a more extensive menu! read more

With so many other options in town for great coffee, you have to add some good old fashioned customer service to the mix. This place is just neat. A place a serves killer coffee and a full bar. I could stay all day at this place. They have a back room full of pinball machines too. Hey Mike and crew, checkin' in from Florida. I'm a long time customer from 2007. The coffee clatch I was in always met in the mornings during work for an hour or so. Since my retirement to Florida, I have been searching for coffee to meet the standards of the ol' OC. In a three year search, i have determined that no coffee can beat the 9th degree of darkness. Honestly, Old Crown wouldn't feel out of place in San Fransisco. One of the most interesting mixes of bar, restaurant, and coffee house that I've ever seen. The atmosphere is very relaxed, and the layout is colorful and interesting. There's an awesome old school pinball section in the back which gives it a really unique flavor. By far the best part though is the bar/coffee shop mix. There's a great selection of beers, the cocktails are varied, and the coffee selection, both hot and iced, is really good. I simply love Old Crown. The coffee is excellent, the tea is excellent, the drinks are excellent, and the staff is lovely. I always feel comfortable when I order, and any questions I have are answered in a friendly and educated manner. There are tables, a bar, and a backroom for seating; the restrooms are always clean, and there always seems to be interesting art on the walls. I must admit, I have never eaten hot food at Old Crown, but if the ambiance, cleanliness, coffee, and courtesy of the place give any indication to the quality of their hot plates, I am sure they are wonderful as well! This is a good coffee bar - excellent proper brewed coffee - not the usual autopsy runoff that we are offered in other places. Also, a well chosen, if small range of beans for sale too. The staff are excellent and most welcoming. The place reminds me of the hip coffee bars back in the UK I would frequent to people watch and enjoy a good coffee too.. I have not tried eating there but I watched them preparing food and watched it go out to the covers and it looked good. Altogether a gem of a coffee bar and highly recommended. Being a college student, Old Crown is by far one of the best places to grab a cup of coffee in town. Their in-house roasts are beyond excellent and the atmosphere is very nice and peaceful. They're the only place I buy my beans from for my own brewing! You must try their caramel sauce, whether it's in your latte or macchiato, it's a must! Not only do they know how to serve up a great cup of joe, their lunch menu is phenomenal. All their ingredients are fresh and seem to be seasonal and some locally sourced. They also have a phenomenal new dinner menu every weekend that they post on their social media sites a few days before. This is a must stop if you're looking for a good coffee or a nice lunch (or both). Pick up some beans on your way out to take some Crown with you! read more

5 Stars, yeah, it really doesn't get any better! I honestly never knew what actual good coffee was until I discovered Old Crown. It is the best coffee you can get in Indiana from all over the globe, and that is not an exaggeration, in fact industrial coffee that you find in a supermarket is now totally unacceptable. Friendly staff, great atmosphere, and great value. Happy to leave a review for Old Crown, they honestly have improved my quality of life. If you want to improve yours as well, just try their "house" blend of coffee, then try a new one every visit. I would suggest the African or Indonesian coffee, but they are all fantastic! Old Crown is not terribly easy to find. Some employees are friendly and some were not. Service was slow. It was a bit confusing when walking in because there is one place to order and another to pay and then a full bar. We weren't sure whether to seat ourselves or oder at the counter. The wraps were very good and so was the coffee. The coffeehouse/bar vibe just wasn't for me. Plus I think they are way overpriced. read more

Obsessed. I was a die-hard Firefly fan (and still am), but when I want an awesome cup of black coffee or a to-die-for latte, this is the place. Besides the tremendous coffee and coffee concoctions, the atmosphere and service are stellar. A must go-to. Also, the food is amazing. Awesome wraps. Sometimes they have 3 Floyd's Zombie Dust, and that also makes me happy :) Go immediately. The coffee is great - buying drinks or buying beans. The atmosphere is often noisy due to the bar but great for studying week days or earlier in the day. I haven't tried much more than dark chocolate mochas with almond milk or caramel lattes (also with almond milk). I love how the drink is about coffee, not sugar. read more

I love Old Crown. They do an awesome job of combining a relaxed coffee shop with a great place to have a beer, wine, or something a little stronger. The selection of alcohol is staggering. Best coffee you can obtain in Fort Wayne. Although I think other places have better lattes and other fancier drinks, the coffee that Old Crown roasts in house and brews daily is unbelievable. Love the atmosphere inside, its easy to relax and do schoolwork or talk with friends. read more
