    The chef salad!

Had breakfast here again and it is a very nice clean diner with good service. The food was very good as usual. I had the everything omelet and my friend had the Italian wrap both of which were delicious. The waitress was helpful and friendly. I definitely recommend.

Stop in for breakfast and wasn't thrilled. It was not busy! I order the Taylor ham and cheese sandwich $9.95 without the egg and a side of home fries $1.75. Husband got French toast and bacon . Food came out lukewarm and we never saw our server again. Get our bill and I got charged $11.39! for the sandwich !! Not impressed

Visited Old Dixie Cafe in Hobe Sound, FL, for brunch with my grandfather, and it was a lovely experience. This small café has a cozy atmosphere where everyone knows everybody. The service was good, and I enjoyed the everything omelet with corned beef hash and home potatoes. It wasn't busy, which made for a relaxed and enjoyable meal. Definitely a great spot for a hearty breakfast and a friendly, local vibe!

Aside from the cringy name, we gave this cafe a try after catching the sunrise on a weekday. The coffee and service were good. My French toast was tasty, albeit not very hot, more like warm. The hubs had a western omelette with hash browns, which were crispy and hot.

Nice little no frills spot. Food for breakfast was good, service was good and friendly. Feels like you are in Texas.

I found this place one day while I was working in the area. I had a great breakfast and decided to try the place. Staff was so pleasant seated me right away. Large menu and selection of foods. Breakfast Lunch and Dinners. I ordered the 2-2-2 . Two pancakes two eggs hashbrowns everything was cooked to perfection. Coffee was nice and hot. They came around multiple times to top off my coffee. Plenty of parking out-front. They have plenty of outdoor seating as well..

    Hot open roast beef!

We were greeted warmly upon arrival and swiftly escorted to our table, which offered a lovely view of the bar area and a musician playing genuinely cool, soulful music. The energy in the room was vibrant, welcoming, and effortlessly chic -- the kind of atmosphere that immediately lets you know you're somewhere special. Our server, Lizzie, was an absolute standout. She was warm, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable, with such a bright and genuine spirit. Her guidance through the menu was thoughtful and spot-on, and she truly elevated the entire dining experience. We began with the specialty oysters and the tuna poke. The tuna was clearly sushi-grade and incredibly fresh, served with house-made wonton chips that were nothing short of outstanding. The oysters were beautifully presented and came with a phenomenal variety of accompaniments that complemented them perfectly. For entrées, we chose the sweet potato-crusted grouper with truffle fries and plantains, as well as the crusted snapper served with mashed potatoes and asparagus. Both dishes were expertly prepared, flavorful, and beautifully plated. I must also note that the portion size of the fresh Florida fish was incredibly generous -- easily enough to feed two people, which was a wonderful surprise and tremendous value. We also requested a customized margarita, and the bartender nailed it -- perfectly balanced and exactly what we had in mind. From the ambiance to the service, cocktails, and exceptional food, Sophia's delivered a truly memorable dining experience. We left impressed, happy, and already planning our return. This is a gem in Hobe Sound, and we will absolutely be back.

What a HUGE disappointment and a ruined Mother's Day dinner!…read moreSadly, we have been coming since they opened and will not be back, and will be sure to warn others to not waste their money. A 5pm reservation would make one think, quality service and a fresh hot kitchen! Well something certainly has changed in the last few months because we received neither! After explaining to our server how excited we were to be there for Mother's Day and how it was our parents first visit we placed an order of 3 appetizers (all more bland and less hot than they should be) - keep in mind the restaurant was mostly empty. As we waited for our entrees (an unusually long time) our server didn't check on drinks or water. When 3 of our 4 entrees did come out, we waited for the 4th as manners would expect. Five minutes, 10 minutes, still nothing. When I finally was able to flag down our server there was some excuse about "mixed up tickets" and that a "manager would be right over." 15 more minutes, all were done with their meals as my husband still awaited his entree. No manager, no server. Completely unacceptable. As my sweet husband cut into his filet, completely over cooked and rubbery, was supposed to be medium- he dare not send it back as everyone else was done and he felt terrible. To make matters worse, my father's fish, was loaded with blood line, ruining the flavor of the meat of the snapper. The least they could do was send a manager over. $200 later- (no alcohol) we will definitely never be back and you shouldn't waste your time or money either. There are plenty of other great restaurants around that will take far better care of you and your family.

Took forever once seated to get food or any type of service. Eventually went to the bar to get a refill of drinks along with others in our crew. The menu is an absolute joke as there is a lot of fill on what they serve you but both my wife I chose the burger as it was the most likely to interpret what I'm ordering. One it came after about an 1 -1 1/2 hours the burger was ok and fry's looked like it was fried in old oil. They were cold and for the money it was not worth it. I think a Macdonald Big Mac would have tasted better at a fraction of the cost. $27 for a burger, cold fries and a small milk shake which I couldn't understand that addition. While sitting at the table I am getting dripped on by the AC duct as that portion is in front of the door opening and with humid air coming in hitting that cold duct it was condensation and dripping on the patrons. In this case me. The server was terrible in my opinion and didn't really cater to many of our needs but the restaurant feels obligated to charge 20% gratuities of 6 people or more. Now I understand that concept as foreign people don't tip like in their country or none at all but that is where the problem is. If a server is good or bad they still are get their tip and in this case there was no incentive for good service. If I am paying $27 for a burger and fries that server better attend to my needs quickly and efficiently. Not sure if I ever will return to this restaurant as it left a bad taste. I usually go by the baseball rule 1 2 3 strikes your out but what brought me over to 3 strikes is the stupid menu and pricing. I think I will make my own dinner at home and bring it to the causeway for a better view and cheaper food and much better food.

This was our first visit, and the restaurant is tucked away in a shopping plaza. From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed. This is a family-owned restaurant, and even the son, who is currently in college, still works here. He was actually our waiter, and I was incredibly impressed that he memorized all five of our orders, including drinks and special requests. Everything came out perfectly, which is no small feat for a larger group. The owner is absolutely wonderful. Dining here doesn't feel like you're sitting in a restaurant--it feels like you're a guest in someone's home. We ordered a bottle of wine, and she personally came to our table to share the history of the wine and where it originated before opening the bottle for us. It was such a warm and personal touch that made the experience feel special. Three of us ordered the lamb Bolognese, and it was easily a 10/10. The portions were so generous that all three of us took leftovers home. The flavors were rich, delicious, and comforting. I ordered the eggplant appetizer and shared it with one of the girls in exchange for some of her Bolognese. The eggplant was absolutely fantastic, and I would order it again without hesitation. The menu offered so many tempting options that it took us forever to decide what we wanted. Ironically, most of us ended up wanting the same thing, which gave us all a good laugh. On Thursdays, they offer a prime rib special for $20. One of my girlfriends, who follows a high-protein diet, ordered it and absolutely loved it. She said it practically melted in her mouth and happily took the remainder home. When you first walk in, there's a small, quaint bar that seats about six or seven people. The owner was behind the bar crafting cocktails, and she mentioned that Old Fashioneds and spritzes are her specialties. I originally planned to order a rosé, but after watching her make an Old Fashioned, I changed my mind. I'm glad I did--the drink was smooth, balanced, and thoroughly enjoyable. Overall, if you're looking for a place where you'll feel genuinely welcomed and treated like family, this is it. I would absolutely recommend making the drive, even if it's out of your way. I drove 40 minutes to get here, and it was completely worth it.
