Fantastic donut shop located close to the airport and opens at 5AM. Bonus points for a drive through. Service is fast and they have fresh donuts in all different flavors. I also ordered an egg and cheese and it came on the fluffiest croissant bread. It was delicious. If the kids want tacos there is also a taco drive through next door and the lines are much shorter than the other taco/donut place in town. read more

Service is great; acknowledged quickly and very friendly when assembling the box of donuts. Ordered kolaches, a cup of coffee and donuts and all were very delicious. Great variety. Easily my new favorite donut shop! Got a little bit of everything, jalapeno cheddar muenster & bacon kolache was amazing! Tara and Sam are the best! Warm and welcoming each time I go in. I'm a frequent customer, and they know my order by heart. The store is spotless and very welcoming. The cinnamon sugar and vanilla iced with coconut shavings are my favorite donuts. The donuts are light and fluffy and beyond delicious! The kolaches and breakfast sandwiches don't disappoint either. I want to give this place 6 stars if I could because they deserve more than 5 for sure. I'm going to take this review one donut at a time. (no, I didn't eat all the donuts I cut a lil bite out of each one hehe) For all of the donuts (excluding the cake donuts) the bread is fluffy and spongy and not greasy at all. Chocolate with sprinkles- cla$$ic donut. not too heavy & there isn't too much icing. also- can't go wrong with a few sprinkles Blueberry ice with sprinkles- sweet but not TOO sweet yk? I thought I was just gonna be eating blue icing but I could taste the blueberry flavor Maple- 10/10 I think everyone is sleeping on maple donuts. These are by far my favorite and if u haven't tried one I 100% recommend to. Cinnamon sugar- overall pretty light. The cinnamon sugar adds a nice crunch on the outside and it's not overwhelming. Blueberry cake- total blueberry muffin vibes. This one is denser because it's a cake donut but the blueberry flavor hits throughout Chocolate cake- this one is also a cake donut and I thought it was pretty good. the glaze was crisp and the cake was moist. *not pictured* Kolaches- the kolaches here are amazing in every aspect of a kolache. they have small and large ones and different flavors like sausage, sausage and cheese, and jalapeño. They also have breakfast sandwiches that are super filling and REALLY GOOD. Glazed donut- honestlyyyyy their glaze rivals krispy creme... THERE I SAID IT!!! Hubby and I were on a Sweet Adeline Regional 10 road trip. We wanted something quick and this hit the spot. We choose the drive thru. I ordered the cheese, egg and sausage biscuit. Hubby ordered two kolache's sausage & cheese and we ordered two raised donuts. We also ordered a vanilla coffee and a Strawberry milk Nestlé's quick drink. I loved my biscuit and my vanilla coffee and the raised donuts were as fresh as could be. Well, hubby wasn't so happy with his kolache order he said it wasn't good enough. . I still recommended biscuit, vanilla coffee and the raised donuts. The service was great and the packaging of our individual items in the bag was perfect. read more

I don't know exactly what they are doing here but their donuts are far superior to any other donut place I've been to. Super fresh, very flavorful and a great variety. Stopping by this donut shop on the way to work this morning just made my day! I had wonderful help from the ladies behind the counter, service with a smile for sure. I ordered half a dozen small sausage kolaches and assorted fruit kolaches and they threw in a small bag of donut holes for free! Made my morning! The sausage kolaches were warmed up for me, so when I got to work they were still warm. Everything tasted wonderful with light and fluffy dough. Tasted great with fast service! read more

I really like this place is donuts and kolache's they have a pretty good menu at a fair price only only problem is is they are a little slow and understaffed. Have been a few times and one time I had to drive off because no one came to the window. Won't go out of my way but if I'm in the area and want a donut or kolache I will stop by. read more

A wonderful spot to grab a fresh doughnut. They are so fluffy and airy. The glazes are sweet but not too rich. I recommend the butterfly doughnut. Everything is well priced and the staff are so friendly. The location is clean and welcoming. The trick is to find the right time to come in as they run out of their top items quickly. read more

Another local favorite of mine. It doesn't look like anything special from the outside, BUT... The food is outstanding, and the people are the best! I like the ham, egg, and cheese croissant sandwich (big and delicious). And I get a cappuccino/coffee mix. The jalapeño and cheese sausage kolache is excellent. And yes, my kids say the donuts are great too (I'm just not much of a donut guy). This seems to be a family owed and operated business. Their super friendly and do a great job. Give them a try! The employees here are so sweet and friendly. Reminds me of the Korean donut shop back up in north Texas. Drive thru is always busy so I just rather go inside and order. Four star because I think they should have a big menu around the corner before the cars get to the window. That way it'll be easier and faster to order! read more

Old Fashion Donuts is kinda new to the neighborhood. I thought the donuts were pretty good. But, my favorite treat were the bear claws they were humongous; the size of real bear claws. Old Fashion Donuts has a lot of the baked goods such as cinnamon rolls, apple fitters, and turnovers all on the big side. Old Fashion Donuts also sells sausage kolaches, but I have not tried them yet. The price for everything is average compared to other donut shops. The place has free WiFi but it has a rather small dining area, and does seems to get packed during peak times. I give 4 stars to Old Fashion Donuts good donuts and baked goodies worth the visit and revisit. read more

After seeing how long the wait was for Magnolia Pancake Haus, my friends and I decided to go for donuts so that we had enough time to visit Riverwalk and the Alamo. Yelp brought us to this establishment. They seemed to have a decent selection. We all ordered the apple fritter, one friend also ordered an old fashioned donut, the other a pink frosted donut and I ordered half a dozen donut holes. I wanted a hot chocolate but the machine was out of order, so I got a coffee, as did one of my friends. The coffee was awful. It was hot (good), but very weak (bad). I ended up not drinking it and tossed it. The apple fritter was the thinnest one I've ever had. All the other ones I've ever recalled having here at least twice as thick. We were all disappointed with this. My donut holes were respectable and I didn't hear any complaints about the other donuts, but when 2 of the 3 things I order are disappointing, I just can't say I had a good experience. We were sad that we didn't go to Krispy Kreme instead. Sometimes chains are better because you know what you are going to get. read more

Best croissants I've ever had! I get a dozen plain every time I go there. They're HUGE, light & fluffy, just the right amount of sweet (not too sweet). They go with everything. My favorite breakfast sandwich to make with them is just bacon and cheese. I've made bread pudding with them- amazing! You gotta try them. And the people there are so incredibly nice! read more

Donuts are not bad but not great. The chocolate iced cake donuts were a total mess. See picture of my bag. My fingers looked just as bad after reaching in to get a donut. The kolaches were pretty good. I'd come back for the kolaches but not the donuts. Service was a bit rough. I felt rushed and there wasn't anybody in line behind me. The lady was too busy rushing me that she didn't hear me try to buy something else from her. She could have sold more if she was listening to what I was asking for instead of trying to give me a total and get me out of there. There was another lay that seemed more friendly but she was helping another customer. In summary: come for the kolaches, not for the donuts. Don't expect much from the service. read more

You can buy a single donut, or they have half dozen or dozen prices. They also sell sandwiches and drinks. They have a few places where you can sit and enjoy your donuts. Unfortunately, that muffin was dry as the Sahara, there was nothing special about it but what would there be? The refresher was "refreshing," lol but I don't think I'd get it again. I thought the donuts would be too much sugar that early so I didn't get any.

Recommend: Yes…read more After visiting Karolinas, I was in the mood for some coffee and a quiet spot to read, and I happened upon San Antonio Gold--so glad I did! At first, from the outside, I thought I was walking into a barbershop because of the door, but stepping inside was a fun surprise. The space is really unique--almost like a mini indoor shopping mall. The coffee shop is right at the front, but as you walk further back, there's a barbershop and a few other small shops to explore. Despite all that, it still has a chill, relaxed vibe. Plenty of seating and big windows make it perfect for hanging out with a book. I ordered the Holiday Inn Cambodia coffee, and it was fantastic. the service was great. Barista gave me a few recommendations. I'll definitely be back--this is a great spot to unwind, read, or just get out of the house for a little while. Highly recommend if you're in the area!

He's always answered my questions, no matter how silly or inane they might be and has readily offered perspective on different types of coffee or methods to make. I'll forever be grateful for that! Now onto Gold, I was a bit bummed when he wasn't at the trailer but happy he opened up his own shop and started visiting regularly. From its humble beginnings of a few bar stools, limited menu, and a small space to the wide open space that is Gold today, the constants have been killer coffee, awesome service, and great convo if it's not a mad rush. From standard drip to espresso to imaginative inventions, the coffee is top notch. If you're hankering for something different, talk to them a they will take care of you. Staff has always been awesome and they definitely know what they're doing. I once asked about chemex ratios and was given an on the spot class. If you don't like good coffee, good service or a solid place to chill, then this may not be your place. Also, they let me bring my doggo, Pancho, in, what's not to love?!

The Freight building also houses art galleries, studios, a bookstore, a barbershop, and a tattoo shop.

Most of the steam buns are about $5.00 and are good for three bites. The bowls selection reminded me of ordering at Chipotle, but with an Asian flare. The high point was the service. As I said, everything was phenomenal. Unfortunately, there is one issue we cannot look past, although we have tried. The bagels are delicious, but they are the absolute wettest, slippery and slidey-est bagels I've ever had in my life. The meal is spent looking down and hoping my beloved or other guests don't see the schmear up to my nose. By the end, we are having to reconstruct our bagel, as it looks like roadkill on the table. It is not a user error, as we eat slowly and carefully. I even have friends who refuse to come back here because it was the messiest eating experience of their lives. It's so unbelievably messy. We have to rinse off in their bathroom before leaving. I have to take my rings off and put my hair up. It's a commitment, one we are not strong enough to make at this point. Delicious, but.... we must bid you farewell, Boss Bagel. Godspeed.

The proportion of vermicelli noodles to fresh lettuce, carrots, cucumber, bean sprouts and peanuts provide d that perfect bite were one ingredient dominated the other. All the proteins were cooked perfectly. The real winner was the lemongrass Banh mi with once again perfectly proportioned ingredients. We also ordered the fresh spring roll, which never came but wasn't missed except that they did try to charge us for but did remove them. They definitely have some work to make this a comfortable dining experience but I wouldn't let it stop you from trying some phenomenal Vietnamese food.
