My partner and I work occasionally at Imagination Stage. This place is perfectly situated just off the main part of busy downtown Bethesda. Very accessible, quick, clean service. I've been to plenty of places in the DMV which claim this "New York" aesthetic and this is the best I've been to so far. The staff is incredibly friendly and always attentive. My partner has made friends with the girl who works the register. I'm sure she does so much for the establishment and it makes the place a comfort to spend some time in. Their selection of drinks and food and other confectionery is really good considering their smaller size. I hope this place keeps going strong because they are always a happy part of my time in Bethesda.

Little local gem. Great sandwiches, awesome service. Liked their Reuben, tuna sandwiches. Also tried their tuna and chicken salads from the fridge, and really loved those. Wasn't a big fan of their grilled chicken sandwich, but my mom loved it, so it must be good. Will be coming back.

This little treasure is around the corner from my office and never realized it! Got the BimBimBap for lunch and loved it! Everything was fresh! Will definitely head back there again soon!

Love coming here for breakfast! It's such a hidden spot and the costumer service is always on point. I've gotten both omelettes and breakfast sandwiches--nothing ever disappoints! It is a corner style deli with some chairs and tables inside of you want to eat there. For breakfast sandwiches, get it on a brioche!

Sandwich and Bagel Shop. Friendly owners, good service. Solid food. Loved that the bagel, cream cheese and chive had real chives and was served warm. Coffee was good. Not a great choice of bagel types.

Stopped here with my kids for a quick snack after seeing a show at the Imagination Stage and had a mixed experience. There are lots of treats - my kids got delicious, enormous chocolate chip cookies that absolutely made their day! I saw the tables around us happily eating what appeared to be yummy sandwiches (and one really juicy looking burger). However, when I saw they offered bubble tea I decided to bring one home to my husband. I got his regular order - half sweet black tea with no bubbles/boba. I took a sip and thought it tasted...odd. When I brought it to him he took a sip and said, "I hope you didn't pay a lot for this" (it was over $5, so same as getting from a legit bubble tea place like ShareTea). Needless to say, he didn't finish it so that was a waste. Friendly staff and appears to be family owned. Stick with the sandwiches and steer clear of the bubble tea!

After seeing cops come here every morning, I decided to stop in. Decent amount of seating, plenty of street parking, huge menu. Plastic minimum is $6 or so. Lots of American snacks and grab-n-go's like varietal muffins, bars, chips (four flavors of PopChips is a joyous sight). Fairly stocked drink fridge, heavy on mini-options. The owner hovers to expedite, but is very friendly. Food is cooked to order and pickup is on the left by the cash register. Ordered a Nova platter on sesame ($5.95), and a three-egg mushroom and cheese omelet ($5.50). Solid portioning on both menu items. The latter came with two slices of buttered toast, coarsely halved. Home fries are seasoned with Lawry's and taste rustic when fresh. Mushrooms not too sparse, but the egg batter was on the flat side and garnished with a melted Kraft single. Fresh veg for my toasted bagel fixings, no problems with the red onions or tomatoes. Cream cheese is layered on thick to make up for the thin layer of lox, as well as for the bagel with nova spread. Butter lettuce instead of the advertised olives. Again, Uptown keeps the local lox bagel victory. Sausage breakfast burrito may be the way to go; the steak one uses cheesesteak-style chopped meat. The potato chunks mixed in call for hot sauce from my office drawer. Turkey bacon one was smaller but mildly improved in texture. Croissants run small. Three and a half stars. I feel like a lot of the love this place is gets is for value. Yeah, it's great that you aren't paying an arm and a leg like everywhere else, and I commend them for the pricing structure: loyalty in exchange for only charging about four bucks for the basic breakfast sandwich. No doubt I'll be back for lunch.

Side of pasta salad with vegetables (barely) It was sour so I gave it 3 stars

I've been to this location three times. Each time, I've interacted with different team members. The personalities and friendliness of the team there is top notch. I've had some good laughs and conversations with them. The location is always clean, the service is fast, and the sandwiches are tasty! My go to, you ask!??.... "The Wreck!" Make no mistake about it. Thank me later! The sandwich is beastly good!! Loaded with just about every meat and topping, they have to offer. You can go full Monty or scale it down to your liking, but either way it is mad delicious and you can't go wrong with this sandwich. You can't go wrong with this sandwich shop and I recommend!

I've been coming here for years, and it's always a dependable, tasty stop when the hunger pangs strike. My go-to is The Wreck -- loaded up and, of course, with extra hot peppers. It's not just a sandwich; it's a life experience. Every bite feels like it's giving my taste buds a standing ovation... and my sinuses a pep talk. I also love their chili -- hearty, comforting, and exactly what you want on a chilly day (pun absolutely intended). One of my favorite things is the mix-and-match approach here. Half a sandwich, half a salad, whatever combination makes your stomach sing -- they make it happen. I'm partial to a sandwich-and-soup or sandwich-and-chili combo, but honestly, they could hand me a sandwich and a pickle and I'd still be grinning. The Pick-Your-Pair deal is my secret weapon for avoiding food FOMO. I get a little bit of everything without having to choose -- because why should lunch be a time for difficult decisions? I will say, I do miss the days when the rewards program felt, well, more rewarding. You know, something that made loyal customers feel like VIPs instead of "Very Intermittently Pleased." But that's a small gripe compared to all the deliciousness they serve up. A few Potbelly-themed jokes for flavor: Why did The Wreck go to therapy? It had too many layers of emotion. What's Potbelly's favorite band? Bread Zeppelin. My doctor told me to eat more greens... so now I get extra lettuce on my Wreck. Problem solved. Whether I'm craving a sandwich that could make a grown man weep, a bowl of chili that hugs your soul, or a meal combo that lets me have my lunch and eat it too -- this place delivers every time. Highly recommend!

She's funny, attentive, and gives honest food recommendations if you're undecided on the menu. She's also incredibly talented -- we watched her balance six cups of coffee to another table without using a tray! On our first visit, a Saturday morning, we ordered the blueberry pancakes (I love when the blueberries are cooked into the pancakes instead of just sprinkled on top), scrambled eggs, turkey sausage, turkey bacon, potatoes with onions, and coffee. Everything was affordable and delicious, so much so that we came back two days later. On our second visit, a Monday, we asked to be seated in April's section! She actually remembered us because we shared the potatoes the first time and she even asked if we wanted to share them again (yes, please... and she brought two small plates!). This time we had scrambled eggs, potatoes with onions, turkey sausage, turkey bacon, toast, and a biscuit. We even dropped some quarters into the tabletop jukebox for the full diner experience. I'd definitely visit again and have already recommended it to relatives who live in the area!
