This updated review is for a private event/birthday party hosted here. So, for general dining see below. Either way this restaurant is wonderful and so are the staff. We booked my daughter's first birthday party here, we worked with Jacklyn who was wonderful. She made sure we had everything we needed, we reserved the space upstairs by the bar for 25 people (the minimum). We got the app buffet, and wow, we brought a ton of food home, there was just so much. Everyone raved about the food from the pizza to the short rib sliders. I ate it all week and was never sad to do so. They do have the best buffalo chicken pizza around, bar none. They staggered the food appropriately so it worked really well. All our guests were happy with the food. Helping us out the day of was Nick, he was behind the bar, getting candles and plates, clearing tables, etc. He was awesome, everyone who snagged seats at the bar raved about him, he took care of everyone of our guests. Jacklyn was also there to make sure everything went perfect and cut our cake for us. There were ZERO hiccups that day, so that is why they get 5 stars. I have been to the restaurant before love the atmosphere and the drinks are excellent. Got take out tonight with my husband and I have to say it still carried all the delicious flavor all the way back to my house. The short rib Mac and cheese was creamy and luscious. Excellent meatballs and the sauce with them is an excellent tomato sauce twist with some zest. The cheeseburger egg rolls were a little dry but I think that's the 30 minutes drive's fault and the wings are flat out killer! While not impressed with the food, Old Glory Kitchen is much more than what's on the menu. Operating in an old renovated church on Broad Street, Keyport, NJ, it is a gathering place for both locals and visitors who want to enjoy time in the bustling downtown of this "Pearl of the Bayshore." The structure has two floors with plenty of seating for small and large groups, and even more room on outdoor patios that were basking in beautiful sunshine on a perfect Saturday afternoon. It really presents well. Their happy hour runs most if the afternoon, and includes all drinks and a special menu. A buck off on draft Sam Summer Ale is a nice incentive for a second. Our group sat at the bar and enjoyed all the bartenders who were working hard to keep up with orders. They never lost their cool, even when the register software failed to process the happy hour prices, and kept people waiting to cash out. My meatloaf sandwich on toasted sourdough and fries came with dense ground beef slices, rather than the looser texture I prefer. It was wrapped in bacon, which might have been a good idea if it was crisp, but this was soft and really detracted from the chew. It added to the fat content without much redeeming flavor. Between the over hard meatloaf and over fatty and chewy bacon, it just didn't work for me. Left half behind. Fries were fine. Checking over at my friends' dishes, I noted that most were chowing down with gusto, so the problem was with my choice and the wide ranging interpretations for meatloaf. I was impressed with Keyport and the role Old Glory had in the middle of it all. Will return for another visit before too long, but skip the meatloaf. read more

COMPLETELY AVERAGE!-me and my crew rolled into this place Saturday for a celebratory dinner and nothing really overwhelmed us. The hostess and most of the help were obviously college students trying their best. We tried a large variety of the appetizers. The pizza had an unpleasant after taste,cheeseburger. Egg rolls were good but from frozen, the baked clams were outstanding and sadly ,the chicken wings were bland and dry. My friend had the crabcakes which were small and a lot of bread, the sushi seemed to be good. The short rib dinner was fairly good with more sides than meat, and fish and chips dinner just average from frozen---however the turkey burger was the best I ever had!!!!-dessert was puzzling called Apple crisp if they served apples in a jar with ice cream , I can pass on this next time. another thing that bothered me was $10 a drink for rock glass size drinks, not full glasses and service was hit and miss this getting different appetizers at different times in general not really that quick --again in general just an average experience not worth the price I paid --probably won't be back. read more

We have visited Old Glory many times and each time we have left satisfied knowing we'd return. This time was no different but I was slightly disappointed the way out did was served. Plates arrived at our table of 7, one at a time. Almost 10 minutes lapses between the first entree and the 7th reaching the table. Everyone wanted to wait for all the food to arrive before eating so by the time we started some was cold. I know this is an anomaly, we will return and hope this was a one time issue. read more

This place has great food! I love their Old Glory Pizza, always fresh. I also love the Parmesan rosemary bread they will bring to your table to start off the meal. Their Buffalo Wings are also quite amazing, they're cooked in the over and have actual crumbled blue cheese on them. I've had mixed drinks here as well. Personal favorite is the sangria. Also, they staff is pretty kind and warm, they are mostly younger adults but they have exceptional mannerisms and very polite. read more

Came for a first birthday party which was held upstairs. The interior decor was unique as it had a painted American flag on the ceiling and kegs for men's toilets. As most may know this once was formally a church. Therefore, for those who have been in a church, keep in mind a church setting of two floors. When you walk upstairs you have the option of sitting either to the left or right as the mid section is open to overview the first floor. To the right of the second floor was long tables with decor for the party such as a sign book, photos etc. and picnic tables for guests. To the left of the second floor you have the bar and more tables with the option of setting more tables to use as decor. We had a family style luncheon. The event started with bbq wings. This was followed by salad. The main entrees were a variety of oven pizza. Hands down everything was delicious. Our server was on point bringing out drinks after drinks and food after food. He was very patient with the party and on task with all. They have a parking lot so no need for street parking. I'll be retuning for dinner next time in the area. read more

A very cool building converted from a church. We sat outside at their outdoor bar. We sat in an area of the bar that has an awning that covers the bar but not the patron. Bartender was attentive and friendly. They had a nice selection of tap beer as well as bottles. We ordered garlic shrimp for an appetizer and a seafood pizza. Both were good not great. Live music outside added to the atmosphere. I will try it again. read more

Recently came here for a week night dinner and was pleasantly surprised with my experience! First off the whole design and layout is adorable! I believe that it is an old church but now it has two level seating and open windows that let sun in and is just so gorgeous if you go during sunset! They have two level seating, a bar, as well as a large coal fire towards the back were they make fresh coal fired pizzas and other coal fired options on their menu, such as their coal fired clams. We didn't get the chance to order any of their pizzas, we got a jumbo pretzel, spinach artichoke dip, lemon garlic clams, stuffed meatballs, and four different salads- the buffalo fried shrimp, classic Cobb, Caesar, and burrata. Everything was amazing and portioned very generously for the prices. Nothing was too heavy either. I'd say from the things we got, I'd most recommend the spinach artichoke dip, Bavarian pretzel, and classic Cobb salad. And can't forget about the service either, which was on point! Our server Jessica was able to check in on us every couple of minutes without being a burden. She made our experience so much more enjoyable! You can tell this place is set up for a party. Multi levels of outdoor and indoor areas, they made creative us of space. I had the French dip from the lunch menu and it's a very large offering. It is served with the huge amount of steak fries. Sadly the sandwich was not that good, edible yes but overcooked and tough meat and I ran out of au jus which was a must for the tough dry sandwich. My friends had the penne and crab sandwich from the menu and they had no complaints, hence the 4 stars instead of 3. Atmosphere and service are the keys to this place. I couldn't tell what kind of restaurant they want to be but with the pizza and Italian dishes they want to be a pizza pub. Always love visiting Old Glory when I'm in the area and was happy to stop in for lunch a few weeks ago. The restaurant is beautiful, I love the rustic American aesthetic. We shared the jalapeño popper dip (literally best app on the menu!), rosemary Parmesan wings, and Texas bbq wings to start. The dip is so freakin good, packed with flavor and deliciously creamy. The wings were a little over cooked for my liking but the flavor made up for it. I especially loved the Texas bbq ones. For my entree I had the chicken parm sandwich (which I ended up wrapping most of it up because I was so full from the apps) - sandwich was great and there were plenty of fries. Went here for a event. I found the overall food quality and drink selection subpar compared to most Irish pubs I have been to. All the appetizers tasted like microwaved frozen garbage. We decided to order from here on DoorDash not too long ago and were glad we did! Food arrived hot and was pretty tasty. I got the Vodka Pizza, which was very salty (and I should've requested no mushrooms). So we had one amazing dish, a couple ok ones, and one terrible dish so we'll round it off to a 3. The irrefutable winning dish for our group was the jalapeno popper dip. Don't think about calories and just enjoy all that spicy cheesy goodness. Also, it's huge so get this for a crowd. The macaroni was good, the crab sandwich was ok, but the chicken parm sandwich was sadly dry. We made the mistake of ordering a special- the cheesesteak. I'm sorry to say it was quite terrible. This place has a good amount of outdoor seating both covered and uncovered. We were seated immediately but the service was slow. I think they were understaffed the day we were there. The service however was extremely friendly and took good care of us. We ordered a pitcher of the red sangria, calamari, and the sliders, all of which were pretty good. Ended up by chance and a quick search on Yelp. The place stands out from the outside and it appeared to be pretty busy. They have a parking lot but it was full so we parked on a side street. We walked and immediately decided to sit at the bar and eat which was a great choice. The bartenders were super nice and attentive. The food came out quick as well. One of my pet peeves is when the entree comes out while I'm still working on my appetizer ... but not at this place!! The food came out perfectly timed. We ordered the cheeseburger egg rolls, the crab dip, and the clams. They were all really good but the outstanding app was the crab dip. SSSSOOOO good! We ate every single piece of it. For the clams, I would suggest they add more bread pieces for dipping because the broth was delicious. I ended up using the bread from the crap dip. For the entrees we went with the Freedom Dip sandwich and the crab cake sandwich. Both were really good but the Freedom Dip was the winner. The au jus was delicious! The only complaint would be that there were some fatty pieces so it made it a bit difficult to "elegantly" bite down on my sandwich. I went here for dinner last night. Tables for 2 and waited about 25 minutes so wasn't too bad. While you wait there's seating outside with TVs and fire pits. There's outdoor seating as well. This place was cool because it has a great theme and it's an old church. There's an iOS tiers to the place, tons of TVs and also a bar area. Started with the cheeseburger egg rolls which were delicious you definitely gotta try them. Went with the smokehouse chicken sandwich, very good as well.
