If dining with 2 people only... We had wine before eating from the wine bar, so we had water. They bring a bread basket and the sides are for 4 people. They will let you order a half order!! Do it!! Breadbasket- delicious and included amazing fresh baked crackers. Fresh butter with sea salt. Mmmm.... Ordered: 1. 3 Cheese selections- Amazing!! A must do! Seriously, please get it... $18 We did not order salad because we decided to do cheeses instead. 2. Not on menu: bone in filet...$70. We split it and we were stuffed. Cooked right- great flavor. Tedder. We split this and it was PLENTY! And they split it for us! 3. Mushrooms- delicious!! Order them. So good. 4. Truffle fries- good, but a HUGE amount and well...they are French fries. Our family came in for dinner on Monday there were 7 of us, we made a reservation but were clearly seated at a table meant for 6. We were crowded and missing a place setting. Felt like we were crammed in together. Our server Diana greeted us promptly but maybe she was having an off night. She explained she had to wear a mask because she had been sick with a cough, I wish she would have kept that to herself. Then she seemed to be too busy with other tables or she saw we were a 7 top and knew gratuity would be included automatically and so she didn't care to try. We had money to spend and felt like she just didn't care. The food was delicious and steaks were perfectly cooked! The mushrooms and cream corn were so yummy. The saving grace of our dinning experience was Alan! He was a fantastic server assistant and has a great demeanor. Very attentive and helpful. Someone make him a server! Over all dinner was great but if we make it back from Los Angeles again I would definitely request a more appropriate sized table and I'm sorry but a server who cares more about the dinning experience of the guests. One of the absolute beat steaks we have ever had! My family and I were visiting the Gaylord for its Christmas decorations and decided to have dinner here. We did not have reservations but were given the option to immediately sit in their cozy bar area next to their fireplace, which we jumped on and are glad we did. The Cowboy ribeye was beautifully presented and cooked perfectly. It had a nice char at the ends, which is always welcomed. The fries were crispy and tasty while the mushrooms were plentiful and flavorful. We have decided to make this meal part of our annual visit. read more

Went here for my parents 38th anniversary and was amazed by the experience. First, the area is super well decorated for Christmas which my mom loved. The waiting staff was amazing they provided complimentary champagne to celebrate the occasion which was unexpected yet a classy move. I ordered the old fashioned and was immediately bummed I was driving that night because it was the best I've had. Would have loved to have 3 or 4, worth every cent. ($16) For the main course - the 20 oz cowboys ribeyes was incredible but it didn't hold anything on the 8 oz filet! The filet melted in your mouth - I'm a bit of a steak snob and both cuts were very well done! As for the sides - the lobster Mac was a great eat, the truffle fries were decent but not worth the price and the whipped potatoes were solid yet not spectacular. I have seriously struggled with if I should post my review of this restaurant. I finally decided to post my experience is because I do not want others to have to endure what we did. My husband and I had some friends in town and we had spent the day in Fort Worth at the Stockyards. Had a great time and then decided to visit Gaylord and have a nice meal. The entrance to the restaurant is a beautiful staircase that opens into the bar. Gorgeous wood walls and dim lighting showed off the sitting area in the bar. It felt warm and comfortable. Since we did not have reservations, we had a 30 minute wait and we opted to wait at a table in the bar. The waiter was named Smokey (as I discovered later) and brought out our drinks. One of our friends wanted to treat us and presented his credit card to Smokey in the leather bill holder. Smokey quickly returned and stated that since we were not guests at the resort, then he needed a credit card. Now, this was not in a nice manner but more of a "well, duh!" attitude. We all stated that the credit card was indeed in the leather binder. Smokey, with a sigh, pulled out all of the binders and haphazardly opened them. It was quite obvious that he did not believe us. By now, our friend, understandably, was beginning to panic. We all start looking around, even in the trash, but to no avail. What was Smokey doing during this scavenger hunt, you might ask? He literally stood there and LAUGHED. If our friends hadn't been in the vicinity, I would have laid into him. What made me even angrier was the fact that I sadly had to wonder if he would have done this to, well, an all white party?? Yes,I was the only caucasian in the group. I was livid at how we were being treated. Just because our friends are not white nor American, doesn't give anyone the right to be treated like this. EVER I took it upon myself to talk with the hostess, who seemed to have her act together. I explained the situation about the missing credit card. She assured me that it will be found. I honestly trusted her, because she could see the panic and anger in my eyes. We were seated for dinner. Of course, none of us were in the mood to eat, let alone enjoy ourselves. I could see that our friend was worried and very upset by our treatment from the bartender. Lo and behold, Smokey walks up to our table and stated he found the card that had slipped out on the bar. No apologies offered from him, just a smile. Even though the card had been "found", I was still mad. I excused myself to use the restroom and spoke with the nice hostess again, explaining what had transpired. Not sure what could have been done after the situation because it really dampened the mood. The food was ok but served lukewarm, which I hate. I didn't say anything because by that point, I was just DONE. The shining star was our waiter. Sadly, I do not remember his name, but his accent sounded wither Australian or British. Very nice man and accommodating. He bumped my rating to a 2, rather than a one. Since I am not married to a white man, I have had to deal with racist comments and rude looks, but this situation was a real eye-opener. I've been fortunate enough to eat at this steakhouse twice now. After this last time, this is officially my favorite dining experience. I'll start off with the ambience. I love the simple and elegant look here. It's very dark inside which makes it feel romantic! My husband sure knows how to pick steakhouses :) The staff is very knowledgeable about the menu. We order the cheese tray and love the presentation that comes along with it. It's very interesting to know where the cheese comes from. What's even better is that most of the cheese was local! The cheese tray is a MUST. Honestly, I will crave it until we come here again next summer! All food we have ordered here has been great. This last time we both ordered steak, medium rare. It came out cooked perfectly. Our waiter (who was AMAZING, btw) gave us some complimentary peppercorn sauce that made the steak even more tasty. No draft but good mixed drinks. Raw oysters fresh, nicely served and tasty. Salads reasonably sized and fresh. Steaks cooked perfectly and nicely seasoned. Habanero cream corn crunchy from fresh cut off the cob (dead of winter, so not the very best, but still kudos for finding fresh corn), an excellent side, with only a light hint of habanero heat. Asked for sommelier to help pick out a bottle from the excellent wine list. After describing our preferences he recommended a very unusual selection, an Argentinean malbec. We started out with octopus as appetizer. Octopus was on point. We also shared a 22 oz Cowboy rib eye and added a shareable portion of charred Brussels sprouts. I didn't like the Brussels sprouts so much because it was kind of soft (I've had better Brussels sprouts). The steak was flavorful and juicy. Between my husband and I, a 22oz is more than enough. I went with my family to celebrate my grandmothers birthday. We had several needs that had to be met due to her age and trouble hearing. All were met far beyond our expectation. our waiter Joseph saw to us and took care of our every need and request. Hit this place as I was on a biz trip and the first time ever going to Texas...although I typically do not eat red meat, on rare occasions I will have a lamb or steak meal as a treat and if you are looking for a great steak, this place will hit the spot. I ordered the bone in ribeye (22 oz) and it was phenomenal!! No special additions (comes with a very small brown gravy of sorts which I am pretty sure you could pour on a pile of dog poo and it would still taste good). It was cooked rare (which was definitely on the pink side so you may want medium of super pink is not for you) and delicious. We ordered the 8 oz filet with the Habanero cream corn and mashed potatoes and they were excellent. The filet was the best we have had. I also had the truffle butter added to the steak and it was an excellent addition. The waiter suggested the chocolate whiskey cake which we shared, however, I think next time I will get my own. First the bad, we had a 6:30pm reservation which was not ready when we got there. I asked the hostess a few times to explain what the issue was and I got some confusing comment about "double booking." In an empty restaurant. We watched couple after couple get seated before us so I bypassed the young woman that kept putting us off and was immediately seated by a different woman. At this point I was frustrated and loaded for bear, sure that I would not enjoy my experience. The wait staff had other ideas. So attentive, friendly, never let a cup go empty, offered candid advice on menu selections, etc. They quite literally could not have done a better job. The steaks were cooked to perfection 4/4. The au poivre (can't remember what it was called on the menu) was so peppery and the perfect thickness. Just incredible. The blue cheese topper was creamy and very rich. The sides: The whipped potatoes were good though not that special. The habanero corn was very (very) good. Just the right amount of sweet and spicy. The pistachio bar was, well, not to our taste but I am pretty sure that was just us. The presentation was very nice. The cheesecake was served in a balloon of chocolate that was oddly, entertainingly fun. The cheesecake itself was very fine though I feel it was a little overpowered by the chocolate sauce. So, in summation, our initial hostess seemed to need a little more training while the wait staff was top shelf! Note to Chef Nick: We really enjoyed our meal! Nestle below the busy hotel/resort pathway, it was nicely hidden away. The atmosphere was classy and romantic. Our server was well seasoned on the menu and very friendly. She recommended the special of the day, sea bass made japanese style - which was flaky and fresh. The little side dishes was a perfect complement to the main course.
