As expected, completely middle of the road at best. I hoped to have a pleasant surprise but was left disappointed. The #1 issue in my opinion was the fact that the restaurant was empty and instead of using the second room for kids they sat them right in the middle. I didn't spend $200 per person to listen to children running around the table like playtime. This was a complete lack of awareness by management. Food was ok. My wife's steak was WAY over cooked. Ordered med came out well done. Mine was med rare came out medium well. Outside of that the food was good. Not horrible not spectacular. Shrimp cocktail $9 EACH LOL. My takeaway- I don't think I'll come back. Bobs or Perry's hits the notes without crying children and dudes in graphic T shirts.. I think the manager is in over his head. If you want a nice evening this isn't the place. Maybe if you want a steakhouse that you can brings your kids to. read more

Probably the most overrated and over priced steakhouse I have been to, ordered med rare comes out med well return back and this time it's medium, not sure how you expect a return visit when steaks are not cooked correctly not once but twice. The only reason for 3 stars is the waitstaff did a great job. Good luck, the location alone should help you out, however hire a new cook!!! read more

I heard this was a new steakhouse with a unique twist, so we made reservations and came to check it out. The place has a great atmosphere, and we were greeted warmly when we arrived. Our server was fantastic--so knowledgeable and attentive. I wish I had written down her name because she truly made the experience better. We started with drinks, which were excellent, and the garlic rolls were delicious. Our server recommended the lobster butter and cheese balls, and they were absolutely amazing. She also suggested we try the Texas Akaushi Reserve Strip for $119. We decided to share it and requested it medium-rare. Unfortunately, this part of the meal was disappointing. The steak came out medium, and I honestly didn't want to complain--I'm not usually that type of person. I tried to eat it anyway, but each bite was tougher than the last. Maybe it was just a bad cut? I probably should have said something, but we were already full, so we let it go. Overall, it was still a nice experience, but I'm not sure I'd come back specifically for the steak. Third time visiting this restaurant and everything was great once again. Husband and I split the prime rib sandwich and caesar salad. Sandwich had a lot of steak and cooked perfectly to medium. it is a huge sandwich on a delicious roll. It comes with wonderful steak fries which again are enough to share. We ate at the bar so we could watch the football game. Service was stellar. Everything is wonderful here ....from the dining room, to happy hour to the bar service. They have just started sunday brunch. The menu looks delicious. That will be our next visit. read more

I went to this restaurant with some friends from work and we came pretty early so the dining room was empty except for us and we got one of the cool red velvet four person booths along the wall. The dining area is gorgeous and they played cool old big band style music. The waitstaff were all incredibly kind and helpful. As the dining room got busier, we didn't see our waitress as much as we had in the beginning as she got busy so that would be my only detractor for the experience. We had the chopped salad, wedge and I had the jalapeño corn chowder which was delicious! We all had steak and everyone was very happy with them. Mine was like butter! I got the truffle butter topper and a couple got the peppercorn sauce. We had some very lovely cocktails, including the Azalea and the Forget About It (espresso martini) and we also got the mashed potatoes - good, the macaroni and cheese - amazing as it was saucy and cheesy. I'd get that again and NOT share!, and the truffle butter tater tots - good. We also tried the butter cake which was tasty and the chocolate cake - which was to die for, for dessert. The salads, sides and desserts are all large enough to share with 3 to 4 people. So just know that when you come, you're really looking for what you're eating for your main course and then decide what everyone at the table would like other than that. I think the waitstaff could do a better job of letting you know how big the salads, sides and desserts are before you order because we ended up ordering two chocolate cakes when we did not need both. First time there and here is an honest review. Our waiter Xai was not good. My friend and I asked for medium rare + steaks and he said we only do medium rare or medium. Now if you go to any other "steakhouse" and ask for medium rare + that's exactly what you will get. Then I said hey can you bring it out on a super hot plate .....his response "we'll try". The steaks came out and were cooked medium well....almost well done. I wasn't rude and simply said please send these back and get us a replacement. His response "well the edges will be more cooked then the center so cut in the center and see if it's more rare. Do you think you would get that response from Bob's steak house, Perry's steakhouse etc? From that point forward his service went downhill. He then tells us that next time he "will use a flashlight to show us it's cooked medium" because the lights in the dining room aren't great" After delivering the steaks recooked he decides to triple down and tell me and my friend " next time order medium rare because the steaks we just brought out are cooked medium rare". The steaks he brought out tasted like left over steak that you put in the microwave the next day on high for 1:30 seconds. The wives ordered pasta dishes and they said they tasted good. My buddy and I ordered tots, basically sonic drive in tots with truffle and parmesan thrown on it, nothing special at all. The cocktails were good. The GM paid a visit and was super nice. Apologized for the incorrectly cooked steak told us he would remove it from the bill and offered us free dessert. We declined the free steak and the dessert but he insisted on comping the steak. Our goal was an awesome meal and experience....not freebies. Not sure why they have steakhouse in their name. If you want to go there for a mid tier meal probably ok. If you want an amazing steak go to Bob's or Perry's right down the road. The level of service we got from our waiter (and to be clear not from management) was junior varsity as best. i see a 2-star review posted a few days ago and that man seems cranky and like he hates kids, so not someone I want at my table tbh. my mouth is still watering thinking about that steak and garlic butter. we had a table of 12 and the staff handled it absolutely beautifully. i showed up early and with some nerves and the manager actually brought me a complementary mini cocktail to take some of the edge off (are you kidding - SO NICE and the extra mile from the start). so many delicious appetizers - the lobster seemed to be everyone's favorite. as i mentioned - my steak was perfect. Wow! I'll say it again.. WOW! I hate to sound cliché, but this new Steakhouse/Italian eatery has quickly set the standard within the Southlake Dining/Entertainment scene! Our dining experience at the Bar was absolutely stellar. Bartenders Alex and Remi were outstanding! The Bar area was packed with people, however this dynamic duo never missed their mark! My adjectives include: Professional, Enthusiastic, Energetic and Engaging! Now, let's talk about our dining experience. I ordered the Sliders and my wife ordered the crab cake. Most establishments never cook the sliders correctly. I chose to include a photograph of my half - eaten slider to show it was cooked absolutely perfectly! Honestly speaking, I have never had a better order of sliders anywhere in the US. My wife raved about her crabcake as well. Oh yeah, be careful with their order of bread. Absolutely unbelievable... I saw two couples at the Bar order the bread several times because it was that incredible. Lastly, Manager, Angelo stopped by to say hello. Very nice touch... The owner himself frequents Rosebud so that should tell you something about the attention to food prep that Rosebud delivers. Service is highly attentive, the atmosphere was upscale, but you do feel like you're eating at the bottom of a business building as opposed to a traditional steakhouse. Even though steak is the main focus of the menu, there are many Italian classic dishes so you'll need to plan for two visits to experience it all. Everything was amazing and the service was fantastic. We didn't get pics this trip, so we will update this with more details after our second visit, which will be soon. We dined at Rosebud Steakhouse during it's first week, a soft opening. The service was spot on, with an army of servers available. Alex (I think was his name) did a terrific job at our table! Rosebud is located in back of the building. Signage will get better soon. Just look for the big silver dragon and you are close. When you walk and you are graded with a beautiful large bar. It reminds me of the bars at Calabrese and Del Frisco's. The lighting is a little more on point to Perry's. My husband and I enjoyed an old fashioned, a glass of Prisoner, and the meatballs for starters. The meatballs are huge and delicious! That alone could be a meal for anyone. After the meatballs came the burrata which was definitely a 10 out of 10; fresh and delicious with amazing pesto. For dinner we split the 45 day aged bone in cowboy ribeye, mashed potatoes, and brussels sprouts. The steak was cooked a little less than medium, but tasted like butter. The brussels sprouts are filled with flavor and have a nice crunch. The mashed potatoes were not fantastic, so next time we'll try a different starch. My husband said the rolls were the best he's had at a steakhouse. At present they do not have gluten-free bread, but they do offer gluten-free pasta. We were too full for dessert, but were told they have a sought after tiramisu. This steakhouse is based in Chicago and has an Italian flare as you will notice on the menu. They are currently working on happy hour specials and a cocktail menu. The bar began poppin' as we were eating dinner. Many of those patrons looked too casual for a steakhouse, but California has moved in. Therefore, it's like a resort casual experience. I'm not mad about it! Be sure and go next-door to check out the wine club before or after dinner. Look for Blake. Good times! read more

We tried Rosebud last night and generally enjoyed the evening. The restaurant ambiance is airy and pleasant and liked the bar area. Service is friendly but inexperienced and slow. My wife and I were relaxed and didn't let it stress us but it took over 30 minutes to get our drinks after having to remind our server. It took even longer to place our order but we were not pressing. Other than the complementary bread service (really good rolls) we didn't start to receive our food until after an hour of being seated. Once the food service started, it was paced well. We really enjoyed our meal and found everything we ordered to be solid. Particularly loved the truffled tater tots and the carrot cake. We are wine people and probably the biggest disappointment was the wine list; particularly the white wine options. For a nice steakhouse, this alone will make us think twice about returning. Hopefully, they will add some old world options. All in all, we enjoyed our evening and the convenience of the restaurant to our home is appealing. read more

What a gem of a place in Southlake! The food is amazing! The bread service is melt in your mouth perfection! The steak medallion trio was so good and just perfect size for me! Roughly 9oz of meat on a bed of mashed potatoes! The house salad was not only a beautiful presentation but a nice size portion (enough to share) and the freshest lettuce and veggies w an amazing dressing! My mom had the salmon which was another tasty hit! The staff is exceptional especially Garrett who we all found to be charming and really good at making you feel welcome! We celebrated my husband's birthday here. Overall, it was a lovely evening with some truly standout dishes, though the timing of the meal required a little extra patience. We kicked things off with a French 75 and an IPA. Both were excellent, and the cocktail was perfectly balanced. For the food: The Brussels Sprouts: These were easily my favorite part of the meal. They are prepared perfectly--don't leave without trying them! The Mains: The New York Strip was high-quality and cooked exactly as requested, and the Braised Beef Bolognese was rich, tender, and clearly made with care. The initial service was actually very good--the staff was friendly and welcoming from the moment we sat down. However, we hit a bit of a lull where the food took quite a long time to arrive. After we ordered a second round of drinks, we had to give the staff a gentle reminder that we still hadn't received them. To their credit, they recovered well. Once we spoke up, the team got things moving quickly and ensured the rest of our night was smooth and attentive. Despite the delay in the kitchen, the quality of the food and the friendly atmosphere made it a successful birthday celebration. What started as a brilliant project with awesome potential has become a overwhelmed mess. The food can be very good, when they get it right. Of our four dishes, three came to the table messed up. My wife and I just had our temperatures reversed. What should have been rare was medium, the medium ordered arrived rare. I ordered a meatball appetizer (which everyone on the table hear me order, except our server), and he became increasingly difficult to find, as the meal wore on because he was assigned to half the room. We had to resort to asking our plate clearer to put in our dessert order. Which leads me to my next point. It's understandable our server didn't get my order. The restaurant has become mind-numbingly LOUD. By the time we were leaving, all of use were shouting at each other across a relatively small table. Let me put it this way - here in the DFW: Kirby's is quiet elegance, but their food has becomes antiquated - like a Bentley. Capital Grille is the epitome of professional, corporate efficiency - like a Lexus. Rosebud, in just a couple of months, has becomes a startlingly expensive tailgate party that has quickly "lost it's game". We ordered way more food than we could eat so we could sample- From drinks, appetizers and the mains, all came out quickly and prepared to perfection. Excellent new steakhouse in Southlake!! They only serve the best prime steaks, and have both wet and dry aged options. The lamb lollipops are a must-try item. The shrimp in the cocktail are HUGE!!! (I promise I'm not exaggerating). The butter cake is to die for. The managers are actively present on the floor to ensure a smooth running operation. Well my fiends, again going around the metroplex trying new things. Let me give you a little background on this one. It was a Thursday night, I happened to have a very long day at work and I decided to pamper myself with a nice steak dinner. I read about this place and I was curious about it, so I decided to give it a try. First, I have to find the place (suggest you use your GPS because it is not visible from 114, you have to swing to the back of a building. It was late for the day (around 9pm what's late in Texas means), but my first impression was the valet parking closing. If the place is open till 10, maybe the valet wants to stay till then, just a suggestion. Let's go to the important part. I transposed the door and I saw a place with very nice and modern decor. We started right there. As I'm alone, as usual, I sat at the bar. There was not too many people (4 total including me), I noticed 2 bartenders tending the bar but I found they were completely overwhelmed with their tasks (one of them was very notorious they were prepping for closing if you know what I mean). Anyway, I ordered a glass of Malbec, a bottle of sparkling water and surprisingly I had to ask for bread service (just a remark, nothing bad here). I ordered a filet medium and Brussels sprouts for side. Bread came in, nothing fancy but I liked the garlic and oil it has been "infused", although the bread itself was not my favorite kind (they looked like the bun used in sliders). Anyway, I ate most of it taking advantage of the oil and garlic in the little bread pan (yes they put it in a neat pan and they warm it up in the oven, one star just for that). My filet came, about 10 min later, including the side. First "problem" (let's call it that, but if it's fixable, is not a problem my grandpa used to say). The beef was medium rare "minus", meaning, it looked cooked on the outside but raw inside, very raw I must say, kind on the rare side. I asked if they can cook it a little bit more but I was hungry and it was almost kitchen close time, so I decided to keep the side and start eating it. Guys, I could not believe my mouth!!!. The sprouts were something out of this world. Perfect balance between vegetables, bacon and seasoning. It tasted so good I could not stop munching it (with the piece of bread I have remaining too). Kudos to the chef on that one. By the time I was almost done with the sprouts my beef came in. This time it was medium plus (little bit on the dry side). Since it was late, I just ate it as it was, as a new piece would take long. Honestly nothing remarkable about the filet. It tasted plain up to the point I have to add salt and pepper myself (and drink several sips of water since it was kind of dry as I mentioned) to get some flavor. I finished my steak, paid my tab and left. What can I say about the place? Well, I was impressed about the oil and garlic bread and that phenomenal sprout dish but not impressed about the steak. At that price tag, some other establishments around the area do a better job. Not sure at this point if the problem was the quality of the steak or the cooking flaw but I was not impressed about it. I will neither recommend nor not recommend this place, at least not now. I will definitively give it another try (honestly because of the bread and side), hopefully next time I get a better "beef" experience. In the meantime, if you want to try, just keep in mind there might be some flaws. If you can overlook those, then, you are going to be ok. Cheers! read more

Great atmosphere and lots of potential but they fell short. We didn't even know who our waiter was until our second round of drinks and after appetizers. Luckily a very nice asst. manager stepped in to fill the gap. Drinks were on par but entrees were just okay. My filet was cooked right but it tasted dry and off and didn't have a consistent bark. Mashed potatoes were cold but served in a hot dish. Perhaps these were pre-maid and then thrown in the hot dish, but it definitely didn't heat them up. My wife's dish which was a special was not explained to here and therefore was not what she expected; quality low there as well. When we finally met our waiter, we had to confirm who he was because again, he didn't show up until after appetizers and did not even introduce himself, explain the menu, ask if this was our first visit, etc. After that, his service was fragmented and not very good. The blue berry cheesecake was awesome. Again, the highlights were the drinks and dessert, everything else was disappointing. Asst. manager went out of his way to not only explain the restaurant but the weekly happy hour specials and giveaways. I would choose Perry's down the street over Rosebud but would choose Capitol Grill across the highway above them both, because Perry's dress code has fallen off the wagon. Surprised the 4/5 current rating. Wish them the best because they do have a lot of potential as a third option for Southlake. read more

Tucked away next to the Silver Dragon of Southlake, this steakhouse does not disappoint. Rosebud Steakhouse is upscale, elegant, and classy. As soon as you enter the restaurant, you notice an inviting atmosphere. The staff is polite and helpful. An excellent venue for happy hour. I had the grilled lamb chops. Couldn't get enough. Excellent wine selection. The bar staff is outstanding. There was not one empty glass at the bar. Management always goes out of their way to ensure you have a pleasant and memorable dining experience. Put Rosebud Steakhouse on your list. And remember, treat yourself, you deserve it. Celebrated our 29th wedding anniversary at Rosebud on Sunday night and it was excellent. Max was our waiter and was fantastic. Gave us just enough space but was available when we needed anything. We had the Caprese salad which was a tad different but very good. My wife had the medallions and I had the ribeye Italiano and both were delicious and good to the right temperature (medium rare). To top it off, Rosebud treated us to their five layer chocolate cake. Excellent food and service. We will be back to try more of the menu! read more

This will be a great stop for happy hours and another choice for a great steak in Southlake. Love its size, far more intimate than most in the bar area. Excellent service that was attentive and courteous, and the overall ambiance was what I would call "casual upscale" and very pleasant. Great cocktails and wine selections. Side dishes were very well prepared. Unfortunately, the reason for the 3 stars is the steak. I've had many incredible prime dry aged steaks over the years, but I felt that Rosebud's 45-day cowboy cut bone-in ribeye missed the mark. The flavor profile and overall quality were not indicative of a fine dry aged cut priced at $85. I'm not saying it was bad...just did not meet my expectations based on the description and price point. Overall, a good experience, but I'm not sure I'd return any time soon. read more

5th trip to Rosebud since their opening. This is a high end steakhouse, very nice interior, great food. Although expensive, top quality prime beef, it runs neck and neck with Bob's Steakhouse in Grapevine, which is a little different menu but nevertheless, always outstanding. I love Rosebud's menu, it has something for everyone. There are five pastas, burger, ground sirloin steak plate (folks next to us had, said it was delicious) all at reasonable prices well below the steak prices. We always eat at the bar when it just the two of us, much better service. My ONLY complaint is two meals in a row, we sent our "medium" steaks that were delivered Rare-Raw center. There is absolutely NO excuse for a great kitchen to serve extremely undercooked meat. This is not an oversight, this is incompetence. Scott, straighten this out! The manager provided us comp dessert that made it right. On another note, I love Italian food, disappointed with two sides I ordered on a previous visit, Caco de Pepe, (I sent it back, horrible, pure water) and the Vodka sauce, just wasn't good. That is a shame because Rosebud has an Italian flair from their four motherships in Chicago. I will try them again, but the kitchen needs to tune it up. These negatives are constructive criticisms and feedback. Management (Scott) can't fix things if he doesn't know. There are only 3 stars because one of my party ordered a $70 Delmonico steak that was largely inedible. He did not send it back because he didn't want to make a fuss. Went to Rosebud for first time to celebrate in-laws 60th wedding anniversary. Unfortunately the ambience and food didn't meet expectations. The house salads were drenched in dressing making it inedible. And I'm not exaggerating. It reminded me of a Gordon Ramsey episode where he'll take the salad and pour out the excessive dressing from the bowl. When I informed the waiter he mentioned he would tell the chef. Needless to say the manager did Not come over to apologize and the salads remained on our bill. Also had several desserts including the chocolate cake and key lime pie. Chocolate cake was given an "okay" from the table. Key lime was not key lime according to my in-laws. Overall the food wasn't worth the price.
