I made a reservation for my birthday for a party of 8. We showed up , were greeted and seated at a round table. We had really good service from the waitress until the manager showed up ( guy with silver hair) and asked me if I was the "birthday girl ". He stood next to me , leaned over and whispered to my ear: " I want to thank you for bringing all this revenue to our restaurant ". I thought I was going to smack him. Wow, where do I start? Ambiance and service was spectacular. I Felt like having a steak for a celebratory dinner and wanted to try somewhere new. Bob's hit it out of the park. I wanted to try a little of everything. Before ordering Calamari, I asked the waitress if they had tentacles. To my surprise, they do! This is the first place I've found tentacles in a very long time. What happened to all the tentacles? You can't have a squid without tentacles. I think I'll open an investigation into this. OK, rant over. The Calamari was amazing! My only suggestion is I would've liked a sweet and sour sauce as I don't feel Cocktail sauce compliments it. Tossed salad was superb. You could taste the freshness with every bite. Now for the filet! Yaaaaaaasss! It hit spot. The glazed carrot although amazing, was too much. Where do they find a carrot that massive? Holy cow. What really sets Bob's apart is their level of service and . Went while I was in Grapevine Texas for a conference. Had heard from a lot of people attending the conference that if I wanted a good steak and a restaurant with ambiance to give Bob's a try. From the moment we arrived it was five star service. Someone opened the door for us and the hostess greeted us with a smile. Inside it looks like a fine dining establishment. Lovely decor and immaculately clean. Waiter was very nice and helpful with offering what people enjoy ordering from the menu items. I was intrigued by the Kansas City Strip steak and divided I had to give it a try. I ordered it medium and it came out on a warm plate just as a requested. It had a lovely char to the exterior with a warm pink center. It came with 2 sides included. I had the carrot and the mashed potatoes. This had to have been the largest carrot I had ever seen at a restaurant. The carrot was good but far too much for me to finish. I was able to completed finish the at delicious steak. For the entire meal we received excellent service. Monte the director of something smh, I can't remember. But I do remember how he worked the room and stopped at each table to make sure everyone was enjoying their dining experience. A great time and I will come next time I am in town. read more

Wow! Just wow! That was our reaction as we ate the amazingly juicy steak and garlic potatoes. We came to Bob's for our 4th anniversary and they seated us at a cute secluded booth table away from the crowds. The ambiance was quiet and had great mood lighting. Our waitress Isabelle S. was truly welcoming and friendly. We wanted to put out a special mention that she made our anniversary very special. Me and some friends stopped into Bob's tonight for a great dining experience. The service and atmosphere was better than expected. I had a lackluster experience at the Bob's in downtown Fort Worth but not here. Started with the fried calamari and the shrimp and both were really good and the cocktail sauce was a good combination. Then moved to my filet which was cooked perfectly and very tender. The glazed carrot was delicious. The creamed spinach was fantastic and went with the filet. The dessert is where it definitely had me because I tried 3 of them. The Strawberry Shortcake should be nicknamed "Strawberry Tall Cake". I'm not normally a cheesecake fan but the Amaretto Cheesecake was delicious. The Carrot Cake was the show stopper for me and had a great spice cake sponge and a good cream cheese frosting. Normally I would give 5 stars however this visit the waitress almost killed me!! I was very explicit that I HAVE A TOMATO ALLERGY!! Many times I said this!!! Many!!! I even carry 2 EpiPens just in case! However this night I ordered a side of green beans- well guess what!!! Tomatoes in it!! Bob's is one of my favorite steak restaurants, but I didn't crave steak. I had the seafood special - Chilean Seabass with a white wine cream sauce accompanied by veggies and it was divine. The cream sauce was so good that I had to ask the server about it. They usually serve their fish with a chimichurri sauce which I wouldn't have minded but the cream sauce was too good to not have tried. They offer complimentary bread that is warm and wonderful. Service was exceptional as always with the server being on top of his game and a couple of managers walking around on a Wednesday evening. Easily the best steak I've ever had in my life. I got the 9 ounce filet and my husband got the 14 ounce New York Strip. We both got the mashed potato and loved it. For dessert we got the brownie sundae, it was ginormous! But delicious! The service was great! Very kind and attentive. The only downside is the restaurant is very loud. And our experience was made even louder because the table next to us had about 20 people, and were celebrating a birthday which culminated in an engagement. Which was fun to witness, but they were very loud!! Bob's is a familiar name in DFW with a long history and great reputation. I went there recently for the first time to celebrate my birthday with my wife and it was an excellent choice. It is a fine dining establishment with a lots of space and a vibrant dining environment. Even with a big dinner turnout, Bob's is definitely not stuffy and overwhelmingly crowded with lots of kid clatter. I ordered the steak with skillet fried potatoes and green beans and was very pleased with the meal. The steak was perfectly cooked and full of flavor and for a potato fanatic like me, this restaurant is ideal because they offer three different potato sides. My wife got the garlic mashed with her order and they were great. Finally, the ginormous ice cream brownie sundae topped it off and it was definitely food coma inducing. Bob's offers lamb chops, one of my favorite entree choices, so I'll be back to try it out. My only real beef with my Bob's steak experience was my server. For fine dining establishments like this, I have high expectations. I was in the restroom when we were first seated so the server greeted my wife who told her it was my birthday. When I came to the table to sit down, I had to be the one to say hello - it was like it didn't register with the server that someone new arrived at the table - and that that person was celebrating a birthday. These are little things from a service standpoint that matter and are the difference between four and five stars. There was 10 of us if I recall correctly, let's just say the bourbon pours were on par. We ordered several appetizers including scallops that were not seared, but were okay, shrimp with BBQ sauce that were a little overcooked and the calamari was rubbery overcooked. My sea bass was perfectly prepared. And another reason for 4 stars. I got crème brûlée for dessert, which was good and hard to mess up. I did order with a double espresso that tasted like slightly strong coffee, yes I know espresso. I have a Bezzera machine at home so I know what espresso should taste like. Their bread is addictive and the onion rings were great. The calamari and shrimp cocktail were ok but didn't stand out. The wine selection was great, and the pinot noir (hop kiln estate from landmark vineyards) was highly enjoyed by the whole group. They have beer, but the choices are limited and uninspiring. I'd recommend they add some well regarded local Texas choices. The desserts were enormous in size (one dessert would feed 4 hungry people). Lets start with the crab cake that chipped a tooth because it has may crab shells, the manager said and I quote Oh we do them by hand sometimes shells get in. Yeah everyone does them by hand but this was just nasty. Ok they remake it, still too many shells for my taste. Then on to dinner we ordered the Wagyu tomahawk. WOW definitely NOT wagyu and it was nasty we did not even eat it. The carrot had a ton of cinnamon which I am allergic to and cinnamon all over the plate again the manager came over and just put my food on a new plate. The entire experience was simply sad staff did not seem to care especially our waiter. They gave us our bill FULL price for food we did not or could not eat no apology no discount. There are three fine dining experiences I frequent and this is one of them. If you'd are old school Chicago, then you would remember Hy's in Water Tower Place in Chicago. ( Not in Water Tower but right by it) This is elegance. This is a place that everyone is a celebrity and you are treated that way. They have old school dishes.
