Great experience here at lunch. I was greeted immediately upon walking in the door and the manager asked me if I was interested in sitting at the bar to watch the World Cup Game...my answer? Heck yes! Once I was seated at the bar, Dillon took great care of me. In no time I had my drink and access to an unobstructed view of England vs Argentina. Salt Grass Steakhouse - Grapevine Good service from our waiter. He was very attentive, despite being very busy inside the restaurant. He deserves, Five-Stars. (I wish I remembered his name) When we ordered our drinks, hot coffee and unsweetened iced tea, he replied, "I don't have anything made fresh, but I'll go start brewing fresh batch of coffee and tea." I can appreciate that. Small details really do matter. When he brought our drinks, upon tasting them, my dad and I could tell, our waiter was a person of integrity. Once we ordered our food, it did take a little bit but we didn't mind. Once the food arrived, both our steaks looked great. Our waiter came back after few bites, to make sure our steaks were indeed how we wanted them. "New York Strip," 12 OZ, was especially good. Hats off to the chef. It was cooked with perfection. The seasoning and the butter melting on top was amazing. No need for additional steak sauce. "Smoked Mac & Cheese," was also the best I've ever tasted. I had to give some to my dad to try. It was perfect amount of cheesy, well seasoned and good portion of bacon pieces sprinkled over it. I want to give this place, five stars, but despite our waiter going above and beyond, place being fairly clean. I do have few things to mention that doesn't make this place a Five-Star. We were seated by the kitchen and no complaints there. But some of the kitchen staff, waiters and manager on duty, can be heard complaining and possibly loud arguments. It was somewhat unprofessional and you could tell, staff didn't care if they were heard or not by dining guests. Otherwise, I would still return and recommend it here. A side note. For a high-end steak house, outside in the dark times, the word, "Salt" is burned out and it looks like it's been out for over a year. read more

I was in Grapevine, Texas, attending a conference and staying at the Gaylord Texan Resort. Since I'm from Tampa, Florida, I wanted to skip eating at the restaurants at the resort and try a local favorite. After browsing several menus, I chose Saltgrass Steak House--and I'm so glad I did. I had $25 left on a Zillions gift card, so I purchased a $25 Saltgrass gift card and started placing my online order. That's when I discovered a frustrating issue: the gift card couldn't be used to cover both the meal and the delivery fee, and there was no option to split the payment. Since I didn't have a vehicle and needed the food delivered to the hotel, I called the restaurant to see if there was any solution. The lady who answered the phone was very kind and transferred me to the acting manager, Frankie. I can honestly say Frankie is one of the best hospitality managers I have ever encountered. After listening to the situation, he verified the gift card and explored every possible option to make it work. He genuinely wanted to help. When the online system still wouldn't cooperate, he didn't just apologize and send me on my way--he found another solution. Frankie told me he was going to have my original order delivered to the hotel at no charge, covering both the meal and the delivery. He even told me to save the $25 gift card for my next trip to Texas. As if that wasn't enough, he personally called around the time the order was expected to arrive to the hotel just to make sure everything had been delivered correctly. That level of service is incredibly rare today. The food was fantastic. I ordered the top sirloin, a salad, and a loaded baked potato. The steak was cooked perfectly, everything was fresh, and it arrived hot and packaged with care. Great food will bring people in once. Exceptional customer service creates loyal customers, and Frankie exemplifies exactly what hospitality should look like. Saltgrass Steak House is fortunate to have him leading the team. If you're in the Grapevine area, this location (or whichever one he works at normally) is absolutely worth a visit. Five stars without hesitation. Seats in the booths roomy, soft leather. Just a relaxing place to dine. I usually order the Bone-in Ribeye, or Cowboy Ribeye. Both good cuts. No, this isn't an A-5 Wagyu, but it also isn't $75+ for a 12 oz. This is a 16 oz steak with sides, salad, $33. Ordered my house salad extra croutons, extra cheese. Great salad. Wish the used more romaine. Steak came out the way I ordered it. Carved nicely. Baked potato was super loaded. Server was attentive, made sure we had everything flowing. At the end, ordered this ginormous slice of carrot cake. This tasted home made. The icing, a super light butter cream that was thich looking, but delicate. The cake was grandmother level good. All and all this was a great meal at a very good everyday steakhouse. It doesn't pretend to be Bobs or Capital Grille. It doesn't need to be. Take care. My husband and I stopped in for a burger on Saturday afternoon. The greeters were a bit rude however that was forgotten when the server Ryan came along. He was absolutely top notch. I have a tendency to drink a lot of iced tea with lunch and he never let my glass get empty. As we were finishing up, the floor manager, Missy came over to see how we were doing. We started talking to her and wow! she is definitely in the right industry and we are praying that she goes far in her career. She definitely is made for the Hospitality industry. Food was as good as always. Salmon with Oscar and asparagus was brilliant. Wife had blackened redfish, another win. Maude's steak was a hit with everyone. My son sent back the patty melt, the hamburger was too thick and was making the bun soggy. Servers replaced it with chicken nuggets and fries. Desert was cheese cake and carrot cake. Both were good, the carrot cake was exceptional. Staff were appropriately attentive. Our party was eight people. My only complaint was that they put two tables together and it created a long table. This made it difficult for people to get in and out. Table size of four or six would be easier. We even made reservations, so this rather pathetic. This should not reflect on the food. My husband and I had the pleasure of sharing a late lunch at the Grapevine location on April 19th, seated in Henry's section. Not our first visit, but the most memorable. We ordered an appetizer, salads, entrees, and dessert. The fried mozzarella is like none I've ever seen and SO good. My request to modify an item was no problem and the result was better than I expected. My husband's steak was just the way he likes it. Desserts were delicious. But there's more. The service. I was seated facing the house and the wait staff was amazing. They were in constant motion, they weren't empty handed, and they were all smiling. A waiter other than Henry walked by, saw a dish we'd just finished, and whisked it away. A pet peeve of ours is being rushed, but that didn't happen here. There was plenty of time to enjoy the app before the entrees arrived. The manager (Missy) was on the floor, too, right in the middle of things. We had a chance to chat with her while awaiting our desserts and complimented her staff on their teamwork and attention to detail. We dropped in to meet some friends. It was early afternoon, and only a few people were at the bar, which was a nice surprise; it's not always easy to seat 4 people [together] at the bar!! We ordered drinks and appetizers (HH is excellent here)! The "Queso Fresco with Brisket" was delicious, as were the "Pickles", but watch out, their "Fried Jalapeno Peppers" have a kick, but are really tasty! The bartenders (Todd & Chandler) were friendly and kept us "hydrated" with cold beer, margaritas and more! It was only a short time after we ordered that we were served. The wedge salad is a keeper; fresh and tasty! All entrees were hot, fresh, and visually delightful! The fried shrimp was warm and flavorful, but those Brussles were INCREDIBLE; they'll leave you wanting MORE! The Beef tips were a hit, but the chopped steak could have been better; maybe next time... and don't forget the bread, they are known for it! Drumm roll, please! The desserts are worth waiting for; so save room! We had the "Chocolate Cake" and "Pecan Bread Pudding" (I may have the name wrong) - lol - it was not on the menu, so ASK for it! He was very courteous and efficient. Before we left, Melissa the manager came by to check on us and to make sure our dining experience was a good one. Got treated by some long-time friends. Crab cakes were incredible, the white cream based sauce meshed well with the crispiness of the crab cakes underneath. Prime rib melted in my mouth. In comparison, the porterhouse was more of a leaner taste which I didn't mind either. However, I found my Brussel sprouts too salty. My meat was a bit too salty on first bite too, but later, as I took a few more bites, the overall taste of the prime rib blossomed. Sadly, the Brussel sprouts didn't experience a similar evolution on my palate and I couldn't finish all of it because the salt was way too liberal. (Perhaps do not equally season both meat and veggies?) Staff was courteous and attentive. Ambiance was your usual nice restaurant feel--not too bright, not too loud, clientele were friendly and not too obnoxious (a great break away from southern California!) I have only been here for happy hour, and it is GREAT. $5 glasses of wine and half off apps. The shrimp cocktail is fantastic. If you are into fried things, the Range Rattlers can't be beat. New to the menu, the Tenderloin Bites. They come with sauteed mushrooms, onions, and a chimichurri sauce. SO GOOD. It is a meal. I can't eat it all. Make sure to get the bread to soak up all the delicious goodness in the cast iron skillet. Service at Saltgrass is always good. At every location. We had a gift card and hadn't been to this Grapevine location in a while. It was a good experience. I ordered the 9 oz Maudeen's Filet with the flash fried green beans and side salad. It was an excellent meal. I probably would've been full with the 6oz but let hunger make the call. The beans weren't battered or oily and tasted fresh. My steak was delivered faster than expected but was undercooked a bit which dropped this review one star. The quality of the cut was outstanding and was a much better price than many local steakhouses. Service was excellent. What I didn't like was mixed drink prices weren't listed in the menu (also a factor in the rating) so I opted for a glass of Cabernet. So many places are now charging a ridiculous cost for a mixed drink, and I tend to avoid those eateries and frequent places with reasonable happy hours. Just saying this for the management, I'm not a big drinker but any medium shelf drink that costs more than $8 is basically a ripoff and a customer avoidance tactic. If the price isn't listed I assume the place is ashamed of themselves. read more

We're from Ky so this was our first visit. I have to tell you we enjoyed it immensely & it wasn't just the great company but also the fabulous service & the food! From the moment I walked in I was greeted with a big Texas smile by the hostess. I opted to sit at the bar and the bartender was fast with a menu with the same Texas smile. She gave me a few suggestions then brought out some fresh baked bread. It was probably the best restaurant bread I have eaten, at least in recent memory. I decided on the top sirloin and grilled shrimp with fried asparagus topped with lump crab meat and butter (Oscar topping absolutely delicious) with a loaded baked potato and tortilla soup. The soup came out first and it was the perfect temperature. It was hot and the weather in this Dallas day was a chilly 44 degrees and breezy. It was just the right spice and was truly fantastic. I ordered the steak medium rare and it was served promptly and cooked perfectly. The Oscar topping as stated was very good. The grilled shrimp were big and seasoned perfectly as well. I topped it off with a margarita on the rocks. You guessed it (I won't say perfectly again, at least not out loud). What a great meal. I don't throw around 5 stars but they deserved it. read more
