We had a fantastic dinner at Capitol Grille! We sat at the bar, and Frank, our bartender, was great. He makes an amazing dirty martini, complete with the perfect creamy blue cheese-stuffed olives. This is definitely in my top three places for a dirty martini. The lobster mac and cheese was delicious creamy, flavorful, and had a generous portion of lobster. The steak was cooked perfectly, with a large amount of crab on top and the mashed potatoes were equally delicious. From the food to the service, everything was excellent. I know it's mostly a steak place, but I stopped by for lunch and got the crispy chicken sandwich, and it's one of the best ones I've ever had. The bun really elevated it to another level, and the crispness yet tenderness of the chicken was absolutely incredible. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna end up coming here weekly if not more just for that alone. The sea salt fries were excellent too. read more

We got the clam chowder I'd pass on both. I got the ribeye. The wife got the Seabass and they were good not great as I looked forward to. In fact I've had better at Roadhouse steak.. For the price and location I'd expect a steak with a sear crust on both sides . Something about that char, but I was dissatisfied gaze under the steak and it looked like it was pan fried at home. First huge shout out to Shay. I loved every minute with her. She knows her wines and you need to ask for her to be your server. The booth under the picture of Selena is fabulous. We enjoyed the wine, the food, the decor and the discussions. I picked Capital Grill for my husbands bday and it was perfection. They have a Duckhorn Winery wine flight paired with dinner. Do it!!!! Duckhorn winery was my first ever wine diner in 2005 or 2006 so I knew we were in for a treat. The steaks were juicy and cooked to perfection. They had a card and confetti waiting at the table. Nice place to celebrate a special day. We came here for a birthday and they had confetti on the table along with a cute birthday card message- very nice touch. The meal was great, we ordered the French onion soup but aside from the cheese, the soup was not hot. I've always had the soup delivered in a piping hot container . We came here for lunch on 03.23.26 to celebrate a couple of long-awaited victories over The Man. Jena at the bar took great care of us and was a real treat to meet. We had the lunch special which for $28, comes with one selection from assorted starters (soups and salads) and another selection from assorted plates (steak, salmon and chicken). We each had the Capital Grill Salad, a nice assortment of field greens and veggies topped off with a beautiful vinaigrette. Our steak frites lunches were superb. The steak was done perfectly and was expertly seasoned. The aji verde was an unusually tasty accent for the steak. The duck fat frites were decadent. Also perfectly done and paired with a herb aioli. For the price and quality, lunch was a steal. For dessert we had the cheesecake, which really should be illegal. It is that good. I've been back twice since my last review. And I'm still in love with the perfectly cooked food but service as well. My second visit was at the bar for happy hour during a weekday with a coworker. Got the chef's special, creamed spinach, and Sam's mashed potatoes with a Peach Bourbon Smash to pair. Lovely. Most recent was yesterday. All the bar tables reserved. First come first serve for the bar. Luckily we found seats and the bar was making nonstop drinks. Busy Saturday! There were a few mixups with my order, but Frank, the main bartender and our server, and another gentleman corrected any issues. The service here is so good. I will be back! It was our first time dining at the Capital Grille (Southlake, TX), but have been to other Capital Grille restaurants nationwide. The food was A+, and so were our drinks. The experience began quite nicely, as our server was attentive, as was the busboy who kept our water glasses refilled. The problems started as we only had three in our party, but there were four place settings. Neither did our server, nor anyone else that came to our table remove the fourth place setting. We had to ask to have it removed (for an upscale restaurant this should have been a no-brainer). After we received our dinner - it was like we were forgotten - as we waited for the server to come back - and then when he did we wanted two after dinner coffees - he left - we sat for quite some time (over 10 minutes from my watch) - it wasn't until we flagged down the waterboy to ask if he could get our server did the server show up and explained he got 'caught at another table'. Then he only brought one after dinner drink - and we even had to ask to get our bill later on. When you spend quite a sum of money you would expect the service to be better than what we received, and this location does not even offer valet service, unlike other Capital Grille locations. I realize Southlake is more a nouveau riche area - unlike Dallas and Fort Worth, and perhaps there should be a good dress code as well - we saw people coming in shorts. We are so happy to now have a Capital Grille here in NE Tarrant County! If for no other reason... PARKING! As you may know, a Capital Grille is a Capital Grille. And that is a good thing! A VERY good thing, indeed, for this up-scale chain has perfected and polished its brand and consistently replicates it in every store. At least in all the stores we have visited over the years. The welcoming, warm ambiance; the attentive service; the happy, personable, and knowledgable servers and the consistently excellent food. Not to mention a very nicely curated menu at lunch as well as at dinner. Our server here was Ashley and she could not have been more pleasant and attentive throughout the course of our meal. I started with a Maker's Manhattan and my wife a glass of a very nice California Chardonnay. After several sips I decided the Manhattan was a little too heavy on the vermouth to suit my taste so I asked Ashley if she might bring me a chilled shot of Maker's to add to my cocktail, which she very promptly brought to the table. That fixed that! I opted for one of the lunch plates, the New York Strip Steak Frites with Aji Verdi and Duck Fat fries and Herb Aioli. My wife chose the Mini Tenderloin Sandwiches with Mushrooms and Herb Cheese as well as a bowl of lobster bisque. The lobster bisque is very popular here and for good reason. It is delicious with a very generous portion of nice size lobster meat bits. The tenderloin sandwiches were also accompanied by Duck Fat Fries. My lunch plate was accompanied by a cup of clam chowder which proved to be quite good. I wanted a bit of heat in the chowder and asked if they had some Crystal hot sauce. Alas, only Tabasco here which is not my fave, but worked in a pinch. My wife gave her bisque a shot as well. The tenderloin in the mini sandwiches was tenderloin perfection. Perfectly cooked, flavorful and enhanced by the sandwiches' additional components. However, the kitchen misfired (no pun intended LOL) on my strip steak. I requested rare. It came out medium well on the wide end and well done on the point. It was close to being cooked Trump Style, except it showed some pink at one end. I hate ever sending anything back to a kitchen. But this had to go back. Ashley's response could not have been more gracious and it was not five minutes before a perfectly cooked steak was brought to the table by a manager. In the real world every kitchen has its missteps, quality restaurants like Capital graciously and promptly make it right with no scowls or excuses. My wife brought one of the two mini sandwiches home and I two thirds of my steak for another delicious meal. (Small senior appetites, you know). Well, that and the Lavash. I cannot resist that Lavash with that lovely, flaky Maldon sea salt sprinkled on the perfectly chilled, large pat of creamy butter. I ate every single piece in the basket. Also, lots of those killer fries came home. (They're rendered even crispier in the air fryer at home than fresh out of the restaurant fryer!) Not particularly crazy about the art in this Southlake store. But that's a very small thing. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all that. We shall be looking forward to our next visit! read more

We also both had the steak au poivre and both were great but cooked med rare for most of them but medium towards one end. We both had the same issue. Very odd...we ordered med rare. My wife and I were celebrating our 27th year together and 24th wedding anniversary! We typically dine at Truluck's, also in Southlake, for special occasions, however we decided to change it up a bit. And boy were we happy we made that decision! David (not Dwayne ) made the dining experience a night to remember. We were first greeted pleasantly at the door by the hostess with a warm Happy Anniversary greeting. We then were exhorted to our table that was set up quite nicely for the occasion. Then our waitresses (yes I said waitresses) always checked on us to make sure we were taken care of. We were also greeted by the manager, David quite often. He was certainly a character with a great sense of humor and kept us smiling. David even gave us a couple of really nice gifts to take home. My boss took our work group here to celebrate my 15th year at my company and this was a great place to celebrate! When we arrived, we were immediately escorted to our own private dining room, the Carroll Shelby Room, named after none other than! The room was nice, with pictures of Shelby and his works on the wall. Our server, Grayson, did a great job! We were a large group but he never missed a beat with us. We were well taken care of throughout our entire experience. For appetizers we ordered Calamari and also Crab Cakes. Both were perfectly prepared. I also had a cup of delicious New England Clam Chowder. For my main course I enjoyed the Salmon on Cucous with Asparagus. And then for dessert, I enjoyed the Seasonal Berries and Cream. I thoroughly enjoyed my first experience at The Capital Grille in Southlake. I went last week to celebrate my anniversary and the staff was extremely kind and accommodating. I absolutely loved the table decor that they did to help us celebrate our special day. The food was delicious, the drinks were refreshing and the dessert was unlike any other! However, my expectations were not met on food quality. Two of our 4 meals the steak was not delivered to the standard. We ordered all medium rare and half our party received medium steaks. For such a place this is not acceptable. I have no doubt if I had sent the items back they would have corrected but this is not what I do in such establishments. The bisque was great and the bread was perfect. I would say if you order your steaks don't feel bad sending them back to get your desired temp. We had a nice evening and dining experience. Purposely waited til they had been open about a month so staff would be trained and our experience would be flawless. Seems as though they are working things out with training etc. Our meal was good. I personally didn't care for the clam chowder, tasted like it was out of a can. Bone-in ribeye always a good choice and it did not disappoint! We ordered a side of spinach and the mashed potato dish and both were tasty. Wine by the bottle menu offers a nice selection of bottle and their prices aren't too bad. We sat at the bar. Nice set up, ambiance was nice. Cocktails tasty and their bread basket was delicious!! Side note: They were out of Prosecco...the price per glass is what you can buy a bottle for, somebody from Capital Grille should have run down to the grocery store and bought a case, chilled to have as a backup for customers. We've been on the hunt for a favorite steakhouse since moving to Tx 1 1/2 years ago. We found it here. Ambiance is nice, definitely want a booth vs table in the middle of the restaurant. Bar area comfortable and cool. We had a variety of dishes - Two different steaks (filet special and New York) and ahi tuna. All were exceptional and serving sizes so generous we all brought extra hime. Sides of Brussels sprouts and mashed potatoes were wonderful. Extra treat for our birthday guest for dessert was cherry on the top - chocolate mousse And cheesecake - hard to pick a favorite. Cost wise - certainly not cheap but for the quality and value much more reasonable than some of the other comparable branded steak houses in the area. We will absolutely be back! read more

I'm from the Houston area. So, my top places for steak are Maestros and Taste of Texas. This place beat both of them easily hands down! The service was excellent. I can't remember the lady's name but she was extremely nice and helpful. It was the food that made us fall in love with this place. We had the beet salad and garden salad - EXCELLENT! We had the ribeye and roasted chicken with veggies. My husband is a a strict diet. The waitress made the chef aware and they created a blend of veggies to replace the potatoes that originally came with the chicken. We will definitely be returning customers. We have also decided to try the Capital Grille here in Houston. Highly recommend this restaurant!!!! read more

Have had a number of quality experiences at The Capital Grille...from Kansas City to Dallas Texas. The Southlake location is special. We came for lunch and I was looking for something light...wanted a tomato and mozzarella salad but it wasn't on the menu. No problem. They made a salad that was not only delicious but the presentation was artistic! This location is led by GM Duane who has accommodated us many times from special requests to finding a table during crowded holiday hours. I can't recommend he, or his restaurant enough. read more

Amazing food and service. I mean really, at Capital Grille, do you expect anything less? They have only just opened, but everything is flawless as if they had been here for years. Drinks were perfect - of course I had to have the Stoli Doli - and I tried the chowder for the first time and loved it. We usually get calamari (love the cherry peppers!) but we weren't quite that hungry on this visit. I know this is a steakhouse, but since I eat little red meat these days, I went with the roasted chicken. Perfectly cooked and the accompanying risotto was great as well. My husband ordered one of the specials and pronounced it perfect. Another first that I ordered was the cream corn. Delicious. We passed on our usual lobster mac and cheese in favor of trying something new and we weren't disappointed. Chocolate espresso cake was amazing. It doesn't taste like coffee; the espresso just gives it a deeper chocolate flavor. This is one of the smaller desserts as well which is good if you just want a few bites. read more

We have dined at this capital Grille location twice so far. Once was a romantic evening with my husband and the second time was a party of 16 for my birthday. Each time was flawless with the most incredible service we have ever experienced. We have enjoyed their oysters, cocktail shrimp, French onion soup, fillets, bone in pork chop, creamed spinach, truffle fries, creamed corn, and mashed potatoes and crème brûlée. Our meal included a Mang Royale cocktail (delicious), a Nueske's Smoked Bacon, and a Field Greens Salad for starters which we shared (fantastic). last night we celebrated our 42nd anniversary with some friends at your restaurant. it was my first time there although I have to several Capital Grilles in Texas, Florida and back east. We live in Southlake and I am embarrassed to say I have not been there before last night. It was a wonderful experience and the food was spectacular.
