- not for us - We've passed by this place multiple times and it seems full every single time, so we decided to order something to try at home. We got Shish Tawook and combination kabob. Both of them come with lentil soup, rice, pita bread (2 piece each), and hummus. There was only one group dining in since it was still early (around 5pm), so we waited 15 minutes to get our food. The restaurant is actually much smaller than what I imagined.. they really can't fit that many people there. The dishes weren't cheap, they ended up being around $52ish together. Lentil soup: quite salty for us. I'm also not a big fan of lentil soup though. Rice: the rice reminds me of my high school lunch meals.. the mushy ones.. not a fan again, but they give you a ton of rice that's enough for two. Shish Tawook: I got this since it's the most popular dish there. However, the grilled chicken was alright but the sauce was too sour for us. I'm not a fan. Combination kabob: the lamb kabob for as good, but yeah the sauce is sour here as well. We have been coming here 2-4 times a month for 15 years...and it remains consistently mouthwatering with great service. No matter who we take here, they love it. It is NOT like other mediterranean food or "Greek food" you have had. The flavors are amazing. And the portions are very generous. You will have leftovers!! There is something for everyone - the gluten-free and dairy-free person like myself, the vegetarian, the meat eater, the seafood eater, etc. You will start with delicious soup, and pita bread with an amazing dip before you get your meal. Then once you get your meal, you will want to also try everyone else's so you know what else you may want next time, because yes, there will be a next time since you will be craving it! They had unlimited pita bread and appetizers soups for us when we came to the table and it was really tasty. The lentil soup, however, had a cinnamon touch I wasn't used to. I wish that their online ordering flow notifies me when the food is ready for pickup, rather than just having the estimated ready time listed upon ordering. Chicken Shawarma: My first impressions of this order was that it was definitely a good amount of food for the ~$20 it cost. Most of it seemed to consist of just the rice or onions/vegetables rather than chicken. The meat was not dry at all and the rice was a good texture. There didn't look like a lot of sauce, but it was very well seasoned and delicious. Looking at some past photos of this menu item on Yelp, the one I got was a bit more burnt than preferred. I don't know what the servers are on but I want some because they're always friendly and helpful. The restaurant has a kinda homey feel with everything functional and clean but not ostentatious. The highlight is the food! Everyone that I've brought here loves it. As long as you like garlic the food is phenomenal. I first heard about Mediterranean Kitchen when my friends catered through them for their rehearsal dinner. Can't believe it's taken me so long since then to visit the restaurant! We were lucky enough to find street parking right around the corner from the restaurant. They have so many items to try on their menu, and we decided to go with: - Combination Kebab - This is one meaty dish! Comes with a selection of chicken, beef and lamb on top of a bed of rice and hummus on the side. My favorite had to be the chicken that day - the flavoring on it was perfect! The only downside with this dish was that the beef was really tough and hard to chew/cut through. -Lamb Shwarma - Another loaded dish! We could've easily shared this dish amongst the two of us, and ended up taking the leftovers home. Definitely worth the price for the value and quantity! This place was the best! The staff was very caring and considerate - they brought us extra plates and utensils before we could even ask for them. When we sat down we were immediately greeted with a delicious lentil soup, pita, and dipping sauce. We ordered the cauliflower, a lamb shawarma plate, and the combo kebab. The meal comes with a lentil soup to start and I had the mezza tray to start (obviously this is a dish meant to share) and there are 6 items on the tray along with pita to enjoy the appetizers with. Walked by Mediterranean Kitchen and noticed that there were a lot of people dining in, thus decided to stop by and give this place a try. We arrived around 7pm on a Friday and were seated in a couple of minutes. I got Beef Shawarma, which came with a Lentil Soup, Pita Bread, and some Pita Bread vinaigrette (I think?) dip. Lentil Soup: Tasted like a typical lentil soup, had decent lentil flavor and texture. Pita Bread: Felt like typical pita bread that you would buy at the grocery store, personally kinda wished it came out hot. The dip it came with was like eating a stronger balsamic vinaigrette, you'll definitely taste the sour. Beef Shawarma: Man, this dish was huge. Yogurt drizzled over literally a mountain of vegetables and some beef that consisted of sauteed onions and bell peppers, with a bit a roasted tomato, and at the very bottom was some rice. One thing I personally wished for was a bit more beef in the plate, at the end I was just eating veggies and nothing else. Definitely enough food for at least two meals in my opinion. This is the closest thing to what you might find in Beirut in the U.S. Quite delicious (especially the chicken which is spice perfectly-not too hot, not too dry) and with generous portions. On my last order, I ended up getting it to go and it was enough for two meals (lunch was finally something to look forward to). The garlic adds a nice touch but doesn't overwhelm it. My favorite, go to restaurant in Bellevue whenever I crave family style mezze or spanakopita has gotten so busy with to-go orders that dining in is not a great experience anymore. Hence the 3 stars. Of course, they did warn us that it will be 45 mins before they can bring the food. But even when they did bring the food, the main course came first and the appetizers at the end. These imbeciles STILL leave the utensils out! Based on the rest of the menu, it looks a little pricey for the shawarma and the skewers, but it may well be worth it based on what we ate.
