happy lamb hot pot had a personal ipad ordering system which made ordering more ingredients for the hotpot less awkward and easier! the server was friendly and gave my little brother a kids cup and plastic fork when asked. the wagyu was high-quality and very tender, i definitely recommend. the only downside is the cool-down period when ordering and how long the wait gets/how small the meat portions get as your meal continues, i didn't get completely full. other than that, the restaurant provided complimentary snacks, dessert, and drinks! would come again! read more

Mediocre at best. We went for a weekend lunch: $35 pp (basic option/non prime menu) $2 pp for soup to cook the food in $2.99 pp for soy sauce Plus $ xtra for beverages. Literally, I felt like I was getting nickeled and dime at this joint. It was just strange that they had a surcharge for basic broth...I mean how else are you suppose to cook your food? No soy sauce on the table, it's located at the "sauce" bar and that's will cost $ extra as well. The food was average, nothing special. The restaurant is also average. As you walk toward the back of the restaurant toward the restrooms, it gets a bit grimy. Service was acceptable, we had one waitperson in our area and he was working nonstop. Went to this Factoria location for my cousin's birthday with a party of 10 and the service is the worst I've had. Happy Lamb Lynnwood has running a promotion earlier this week (I went with another party of 10) and was much busier and we had better service there. Food took a long time to come, the quantity was wrong, the quality of the "Wagyu" was not good after the first round, and we waited for our cake that we had stored in their fridge for 30 minutes. Every time we asked for it, they said they were preparing it and that they were busy. My cousin ended up walking around to talk to an employee about bring out the cake for the third time, and one of them said "oh the cake? Is it yours? It's been sitting out here for 20 minutes". They were certainly not "preparing" it either, all they did was take it out of the box. And just after we thought it couldn't get worse, they didn't give us a knife to cut the cake with. When we asked, they gave us a small butter knife. Safe to say I will not be coming here again. read more

Stopped by again on a Saturday night with a reservation at 7pm for 8 people. I usually love this spot and the service but it didn't quite live up to previous visits. I'm giving 3 stars because I love the food and have only had great experiences in the past, but this last dinner was not a great representation. First, you cannot add a party larger than 6 people to the waitlist which I totally understand! The site tells you to contact the restaurant for large parties so I called but it sent me to an automated message asking for my zip code and a PIN number, which I don't have. There is no way to join the waitlist if you are a large group and the phone is not picked up, which is a bit stressful. I finally just added us to the waitlist as a party of 6 and wrote that it would be 8 people and left my number. They called me within a few minutes and set a reservation for 7. We didn't get seated until after 7:30, which was a bit annoying but I understand is not totally their fault. Second, they have changed from using menus and paper to fill out to using iPads at each table. Great in theory as the order gets sent directly to the kitchen, but it made it hard to order with a large group as only two people could look through the menu and order at a time and you could only order 1 broth. Along with this, you can only place an order every 25 minutes (i think?). I think that this would be great for smaller tables or for less busy nights, but because we didn't order with our server, we didn't know multiple plates that we had been waiting on were out of stock. I think they could benefit from a few more employees on weekends and maybe an outdoor waiting area so that the entrance doesn't get packed shoulder to shoulder as people wait! This experience won't prevent me from returning because I love the food so much, but I probably will not be coming back with a group larger than 4 people. read more

I hadn't been to this location in a while, and it happened to be happy hour when I stopped by. I like that they replaced the paper menu with an iPad because it allows me to fine-tune the amount I want to order. That said, I noticed the portioning was inconsistent. For items like appetizers, the quantity matched the number I ordered. But for other items, such as vegetables and meatballs, the portions didn't reflect what I selected. During round two, I received fewer vegetables even though I ordered more than in round one. I also received more meatballs than I wanted when I only selected one piece. To be very honest, any Happy Lamb hot pot experience will be a positive one. I've been to one downtown, so I expected a similar experience. I didn't know it would be like THIS though. Let's get into the review. Food This restaurant offers wide variety of meats that you can use for your hot pot as well as different hot pot soups to choose from. I love heat, so I chose the spicy one. We ended up ordering a couple of meats and appetizers, and didn't realize just how much food that was. I highly recommend to start off with two or three meats, and by the time you finish you can gauge if you need to order more. At any rate, the food tasted amazing! If you go, I recommend getting the octopus. Service Shout out to our waiter//server. He was so attentive and engaging, I darn well felt like I was eating at a Michelin star restaurant. But to continue, I can't even remember if I looked down at my glass and my water cup was not full. When we talk about being attentive, that's what we're talking about! He also helped me choose the right selection to complement my food when my preferred was out! His helpfulness definitely added to the experience! Ambiance This restaurant is appropriately dim, with the focus areas of light shining on the tables. That is the vibe that I was going for and I'm so happy that they understood the mission and executed on it. The music was also appropriate. It helps at the mood, not too loud, but just enough for you to speak at regular volume and not be drowned out by the music. All in all, I give this restaurant a 5/5 would recommend. I don't mean near premium as a negative, rather it means near top tier meat quality at other hotpots that charge a high price, but with less quantity as those other establishments are not AYCE. The premium AYCE here is great, and a very good bang for the buck. Personally I stick with the Wagyu and Ribeye beef choices now. The lamb used to be my favorite but with the newly added premium beef, its beef all the way now! Bang for the buck, AYCE + quality beef. The consistency and knowing what you'll get everytime you visit is a winning recipe here. Service always friendly, and the menu selection is rather large. Happy Lamb has been my go-to spot for hot pot for a while now, and it consistently hits the spot. With AYCE, you can load up on all your favorites, and the self-serve sauce bar is always stocked--not just with condiments but also extras like spring rolls, dumplings, fruit, desserts, and more. The staff does a great job keeping things clean, constantly wiping down surfaces, which I always appreciate. My only complaint is that the self-serve bar tends to bottleneck. And it is almost always busy, so I recommend checking the Yelp virtual waitlist to cut down on wait time. I usually check how long the wait is and add myself when I'm about that far out. The food came out pretty quick when we ordered them via their tablet. The soup thought kinda all tasted the same, i think we have their regular broth, one mushroom as well. The staff were nice but honestly not as accommodating perhaps because it was quite busy. The food selection they don't have fried fish cake which is one of my favorites. But that's okay. I've never been to a hot pot, so definitely needed some instructions, but nobody seemed interested. A guy at the beginning, said oh it's your first time, I'll be back and vanished for 20 mins. We had to call someone else for help, and the tab didn't work. It was horribly chaotic. They didn't tell us that we can only order again after a 20 min cool off period. So it was very confusing on how to navigate it. There was ample options for vegetarians but I didn't find it worth it, neither the ambiance, the service or the food. A big no for me. read more

Best Hotpot experience for beginners, large groups, and special occasions. I have visited this restaurant over 15 times since 2020. I recently visited in early June of 2025 to introduce our friends to hotpot for the very first time. The all you can eat 3 rounds always gets newbies overly confident and underestimating the quantity and quality of food that is provided in the first round. Happy Lamb Bellevue has the best soft serve ice cream ever. I rave about it to anyone and everyone that mentions hotpot. The soft serve machine has treated me to so many bowls of ice cream that I truly believe I get my moneys worth just from the amount of soft serve I get each time I visit. As a hot pot connoisseur that has tried almost every hotpot location in the greater Seattle/Bellevue area, Happy Lamb Bellevue specifically holds that #1 spot in my heart just because of the amazing service and soft serve. First visit in long time, and it has new owners (used to be little sherp and now us happy lamb). The broth is not quite as flavorful, but still pretty good. We got there about 5 minutes after opening for lunch. Some people were seated and we couldn't find anyone to seat us. I think the one waiter was the only person on the floor. After about 8 minutes he seated us, gave us menus and disappeared for a while. After about 10 minutes we flagged him down and ordered the combination for two for $39. The beef and lamb were very nice quality and generous portions. The seafood wasn't my favorite. I don't know what the thick pieces of white fish were, but they look a long time to cook and didn't have much flavor. The whole shrimp were nice to look at but not to eat. Huge black vein I had trouble getting out. The tiny octopus were tender. We didn't eat the fake crab. I wouldn't order the seafood again. There were a few vegetables, but I like more. The noodles and dumplings were ok, but way more than we could eat. Way more. Next time I would order ala cart, and just get veg, mushrooms and meats. They now have a build your own sauce bar, but costs an additional $3 per person. We didn't think it was necessary. The broth at the last place was so flavorful it didn't need sauce. After trying this place, I can see where the sauce might be good to have. Once we had the food, we didn't see a server again until our broth was almost gone. We told him we were wait for our table because it's almost our time, he basically starts yelling at us saying the kitchen closes at 10:30 and they close at 11:00. We didn't know that they close at 11:00, he literally could've just said "sorry but we actually close at 11:00" instead of being so rude. I am not a big fan of AYCE restaurants. They often come across as sloppy, push out volumes of food with little other care because the diners demand volume above all else. Happy Lamb pleasantly surprised me balancing volume while maintaining a certain level of presentation. While they have an AYCE pricing structure, they also offer ala carte, which I didn't know until the hostess asked. By then, my brain had settled on AYCE. For that matter, "we opted for the Prime AYCE, which have 12 items that are prime exclusive and we get a free drink. For dinner time, Prime is $45.98pp. Honestly, it is not bad at all. We also added the necessary sauce bar, which is $2.99pp. For broth, we ordered the house original marrow and the house spicy marrow broth. Both are tasty, though not as rich as the other biggie in our area. Honestly, by the end of the meal, the broth tastes very good from all the meats and seafood. The hotpot prime items we ordered are lamb sirloin, lamb belly, wagyu beef, USDA prime rib eye, tiger prawn, and whole abalone. The hotpot regular items we ordered are marinated garlic beef, house shrimp paste, Fuzhou fish ball, broccoli (the green veggie of this meal), king oyster mushroom (a must!), and house lamb wontons (not recommended). For cooked foods, we tried crispy baked lamb shank and spicy crawfish, which is a mala spicy. The lamb shank was dry - not recommended. The mala crawfish was flavorful but also numbed my tongue. Of the items we ordered, the worthy repeated items are marinated garlic beef, house shrimp paste, oyster mushrooms, wagyu beef, tiger prawn, and abalone. Because it was near closing time and last call, they delivered to us both the second and third rounds of wagyu, prawns, and abalone. Our jaw dropped with the extra food that we didn't really ask for it. We ate them all! LOL!! We went home and did extra steps on the treadmill. Hahahahaha. The sauce bar is the only meh area. People are snobs. They can have a full-time person standing time wiping endlessly, and it'll still look like a mess. Overall, we were pleased for the quality, volume, and cost of the food. The place is pretty nice. The staff were hurried but did their job. I can see why it is difficult to secure a reservation. read more
