Loved the food and our server was great but sadly the larger table behind us was incredibly loud and the kids were being very loud and I'm noise sensitive due to a TBI. However even if not noise sensitive it would have been annoyingly loud especially when you are having a dinner with friends and can't hear them talk. I wish the restaurant would have asked them to maybe be a little quieter because for the small space of the restaurant it really made my experience not great. The ABSOLUTE BEST sit-down small/locally owned Mediterranean restaurant in the area! Anytime I think about getting Mediterranean food I only think about Mediterranean Kitchen. Their food is so fresh and doesn't taste like it's been sitting in a fridge waiting to be served. We always get the mezzanine tray to accompany our dinner because it's a refreshing bite between the savory and juicy meat dishes. Everything is so healthy that I plan on going all in whenever I go there. I haven't ordered one bad item on their menu. Chefs kiss across the board. The staff is so prompt, personable and inviting. The way that they interact with their customers is charming, conversational and they show a lot of respect. Both ordered included a 4-5 lunch menu items so I called ahead to order pick up. Both times the orders were ready on time and included large portions with a side of soup and pitas. The shawarmas were delicious as was the combination plate of kabobs. Each entree comes with a healthy serving of hummus as well. The staff was amazing. They were so grateful to earn my business and I felt very much appreciated for choosing to support them over other options in town. This made me very happy and one of the reasons I went back a few days later. You really can't go wrong with Mediterranean Kitchen. Not sure why I waited so long to try this place, I love Lebanese cuisine, and Mediterranean in general. Well today I was at the office in bellevue downtown and decided to try it on a whim. Great decision! Opted for the combination kabob, I wanted to try all the meats. All delicious. The lamb was a bit tough to cut with the knife, but surprisingly not so tough to chew. Anyway I loved the seasoning of all of them, I'd probably give the chicken an edge on the other two. Kofta a close second. I asked for babaganoush instead of hummus in the plate, baba was fantastic, so much so that I got two to go, and I found myself eating some of it out of the to go boxes, while still seated at the restaurant. I have passed this place my whole life. If you passed it on the street too, it does not stick out to somewhere to go. But it is somewhere you should all go! This place came highly recommended from my Boyfriend's Mom and Sister. I finally got around to trying it with my familiar and keep thinking about it ever since. They start off the meal with what I think is a lentil soup. The soup is comforting, warm, delicious. I would eat more than one bowl of soup if given the opportunity. We also got a plate of hummus and pita. It was one of the best plates of hummus and pita I have had. I am not really sure if my lack of food before eating lunch here was playing a part in my opinion but it was good. I ordered the Combination Kabob because I love trying a little of multiple things. The sauce and the rice made the plate. I loved it. The portion sizes were huge which was also a plus. You could probably make at least 2 meals out of one order. The service was great! When we first walked in, they said that food would take a minute because it was so busy, but it actually still came out quick. They started us off with soup and pita. The soup was a little cold, but they were really busy. We started off with the cauliflower app .. it was delicious. The cauliflower was cooked perfectly and it was in such a yummy, creamy sauce. The food is bland. The service is also ok. The servers are friendly. They add a lot of bell pepper and onion to the shawarma dishes. This reduces the meat portions and you trying to fight through that to ear your food. Portions are large and so are the prices. You cannot get a single wrap here, so forget about gyros!! I love this place! My family has been going to get shish tawook for years and I love the falafel salad. The owners are really wonderful and thoughtful and I love supporting such good people. I haven't tried the shish tawook since I'm a vegetarian, but everyone I know who has tried it has loved it and gone back many times for more. I love the falafel salad and it's gluten free! Super fresh, great ingredients, and a perfect garlicky sauce. Their food has large portions and great sides like hummus, naan, and a great lentil soup. I've never dined in and don't know if I would, this food is perfect for takeout (even sitting in the car for a bit) and is best eaten around a dinner table at home. I never leave negative reviews. If I don't like a place, I just don't come back. I ordered the lunch falafel plate. Menu says it comes with rice, soup, and pita. I didn't get any rice. Just a big plate of the blandest salad I've ever had with the driest falafels on top. I ordered for pick up. Waited 5 minutes for anyone to acknowledge me. When I do finally get acknowledged I let them know I'm here for pick up for Anthony. Server goes to back disappears and helps other. I wait on another 5 minutes and the guy comes out and he asks what's the name on the order? I respond "Anthony how much longer for the wait?" He just walks off. The older man comes over and asks me what's the name on the order? I respond "Anthony, and how much longer for the wait?" It had been ready since I got there. When I go to pay I feel like he was trying to trick me into tipping and when I gave no tip he gave me the "oh I see" face. I grew up never wasting food. After we sat down the waiting staff immediately served us lentil soup, a dip and pita bread on the house. For entrees, we shared a mezza tray. I wanted some meat and our waiter recommended the chicken thigh to me. It's not on the menu but they could serve it as a side. Everything was delicious. The pita was the soft thick type which I loved. I enjoyed all the mezza, especially the hummus and the baba ganoush. The grilled chicken thigh was a big hit too - tender and flavorful, perfectly grilled. Really appreciated our waiter's recommendation and the flexibility of their menu. The price was super cheap. Eh...that's all I can say about this place. We came during dinner before a movie and ordered the kabob combo which came with chicken, lamb and beef. The dish also came with rice and hummus For dinner, you also get complimentary pita bread and a soup. The pita bread was warm but a little on the thicker chewier side and the soup was standard. Our main entree was a little disappointing though. For $24, we got a lot of rice, 3-4 pieces of meat, and a side of hummus. I'm a little confused about the hummus cause they didn't provide us with anything to eat it with, was it supposed to be with the pita bread that they gave us in the beginning? Cause if so, why give us in the beginning and not when our food come out? The meat was tender but there was little amount of it. We had a lot of rice though... We heard this place do pretty generous portion but what we got didn't really justify the $24 we paid for one dish. Service was standard and nothing spectacular. We ordered the Kibby appetizer, a mango juice, and the lamb shawarma. The lamb shawarma was a heaping portion, but with hardly any lamb! :( it was a big plate of sautéed veggies- bell peppers, red cabbage, tomatoes and onions, with a couple ounces of meat. It was rice and veggies with a little meat garnish. With the tiny (but tasty) appetizer, a juice, and one entree, it came to $50. Won't be back. The service and ambiance were good, but the value of the food just isn't there. They do have a feedback card which tells me they care and are trying. The 4 star average rating reflects what this restaurant USED to be like. This is a bit debatable, my husband said it's a little bland, but for me, it's perfect! Since I can taste all the flavors and you can always add a dash of salt if you want more "saltiness". The lentil soup is on point! I had combination kabob and it is served with hummus on the side, and my husband had beef shawarma. The chicken on the combination plate is juicy and not dry!!! The lamb has no after taste but a little bit dry, The beef is tender and the rice is well-cooked. Regarding the bad reviews for the pita bread, I think, they give this as a complimentary, and I am not complaining at all! It was served warm with garlic dipping sauce, so what more do they want?? Lol. 5 star for the customer service - though they are short-staffed, everyone seemed to be friendly, attentive and welcoming 5 star for the price - for the amount of meat and serving size, everything on the menu is fairly priced! Coffee is only $2.50, and trust me, they serve a pretty good house coffee , on top of it, it is refillable!! They have HUGE portion sizes and taste pretty authentic to me (not an expert on Mediterranean style food but its very delicious :) ) Algerian chicken - lots of lots of vegetables! Theres so much food in the box that I felt like the container was gonna break :P. The chicken breast was hidden under the vegetables which made it hard to see, but it was very tender and flavorful, not dry at all. Chicken Shawarma - very classic dish. Chicken was nicely cooked as well. Its similar to halal guys. I just wish they had a hot sauce thats similar too. There's pita bread to go with every entree too. Last night, we ~dined in~ at the Mediterranean Kitchen. We got takeout from here in March or April and loved it, but for some reason, didn't return again until yesterday... Big mistake. :-) This place is amazing. I think I could eat here every day and be blown away every time. The customer service is outstanding (shoutout Clark and Toby!!!). This is a place where the staff members actually care about their guests. They go above and beyond to ensure you enjoy every aspect of your experience. That's not something you get from most places. Oh, and the FOOD. You could split one single entrée into at least 2-3 separate meals. The prices are great considering how much food you get. I ordered the Shish Tawook and it was lemony, rich, and flavorful. My boyfriend (and his grandpa and dad) ordered the Farmer's Dish. I took a few bites and it was also amazing (we also split the Mezza Tray, but I forgot to take a picture). We brought enough leftovers home to snack on for the next few days, so we are pretty excited about that. Overall, this place deserves 6 stars. The Lamb has lots of veggies which I love. The white sauce- omg, you have to ask for more. It is tangy creamy and light. It will taste good with anything. My favorite thing at this restaurant is a heavily garlic laden dressing/dip that they serve complimentary with pita. This sauce is the reason I come and why I will keep coming back! Mmmm I came on here to write a review and seeing the pictures of the food is making me want to go back ASAP. To start, it seems like such a hole-in-the-wall, but that's how I knew it'd be good. I was all by myself the first time I came here, and I thought a nice Mezze platter would be a good start.... HA. The waiter gave me a smile (he was super kind and I thought nothing of it.) He was so willing to make substitutions since I couldn't have the dairy. Then with another smile, he brought me a HEFTY plate of food. I get it now, you sly dog. You knew what I was getting myself into... Let me say, I always order a Mezze wherever I go, and never have I ever gotten this amount of food, or this much variety. It's also never costed this much- but it made sense as soon as I saw it. EVERYTHING was SO good.
