Lobster roll and fish and chips

We were in the area for engagement photos- asked about local shops and were recommended the Old Mill Inn. It was late on a Tuesday evening but there was plenty of availability. Staff was so nice. Honestly, it gave us Bar Harbor / Maine vibes, red building by the water. We were so excited for the crab artichoke dip, and it was really good! Lobster roll and fish/chips were great as well. It's got a dark/moody ambiance, but there also seems to be a lot of history in the location which was a lot of fun! It seems like a lot of people hate that they don't have tea/coffee, but honestly I never get any so wasn't an issue for me. There isn't a lot of signal in the area though, FYI. So make sure you have an idea of how to get around if you're not from the area!

This was my first time to the Old Mill since its renovation. They did a nice job keeping the feel of the old place while updating the restaurant to current standards. Great views of Mattituck Inlet & a friendly staff to greet you. My fish & chips were great, so was the chicken wing appetizer. My lady's burger wasn't that great, the meat was over cooked and not much flavor. Other than that it was all good. Great place to grab a drink too!

Sat at the Chefs table. Yes, that is now a thing. Chef was engaging and informative. The guy who clears the meals and wears a hat is not nice. He should be retrained. Food amazing. Worth a try but watch out for staff performance.

She never came by to ask if we needed anything else. She walked by our table several times without checking on us. We had to stop her to get more water. We were considering getting dessert, but she never came by to ask if we wanted dessert. So much time had gone by we finally asked for the check. When she brought the check it was for a different table. There seemed to be plenty of staff working so I don't think was the issue. This is the first time that I have given a restaurant a negative review.

With a band setting up behind us we settled in for a relaxing evening. Read a few reviews about the Windamere ( located above the marina) which made us pause but hunger outvoted hesitancy so we threw caution to the wind. Honestly I was pleasantly surprised. Even though we did not have a reservation we were warmly greeted and immediately seated on the outside patio area overlooking both the marina and band. Our server Victoria was outstanding, the epitome of excellent customer service skills; professional, friendly, engaging, menu knowledgeable and attentive. The food was very good starting with the baked clams and mussels. The baked salmon and seared tuna dishes were well seasoned, moist and flaky, the salmon served over rice and asparagus. Found the food good, slightly under portioned compared to other establishments but reasonably priced. During dinner we enjoyed listening to the band ( Radio Flashback) which we had seen previously. Overall a pleasant evening at Windamere enjoying some good food and drinks while listening to some great music. Although there is inside seating I'd recommend the outside patio area. Just a word ( or two) of caution the bar area overlooks the marina pool which can be a little noisy so if your eating would not recommend that patio area and just remember the lyrics to the song 867-530/Jenny you'll understand later .

My wife and I were meeting a friend who lives in Laurel for dinner. We researched local restaurants…read moreand came across the Watershed Kitchen and Inn on OpenTable. The description of the restaurant, the menus and the reviews online made us to decide to give them a try. We're so glad that we did! We entered through the bar entrance which was lively but not crazy loud. There was a musician setting up in one corner of the bar area. We could hear him during our dinner but it was not at all distracting (and he was quite good). We were greeted by one of the hosts (who I now believe may be one of the owners). We were welcomed and escorted to a table in the dining room right behind the bar area. From what I could determine, there were at least two other dining areas and an outside dining area (for dining during the nicer weather). Our server quickly came to welcome us, ask if we had questions about the menu / specials and to take our drink order. She was attentive, pleasant and was able to quickly and accurately answer questions that we had (we have some dietary restrictions and needed to verify some ingredients. She knew immediately what we could order to dine safely. We started our order with the Chiccharon appetizer. I had anticipated that the item would be traditional crispy Chiccaron. Instead the dish was more of a pork belly in a broth. We actually enjoyed that much more! It was plentiful, cooked to perfection and flavorful. For dinner my wife and our friend ordered the sea bass special. They both thought it was plentiful, perfectly prepared and tasted great. I ordered the pork chop with spicy cherry peppers in a light evoo broth. I told our server that I wasn't eating potatoes or rice and asked for a recommendation for a substitute. She recommended the broccolini which was a perfect alternative. My pork chop was served perfectly (medium, juicy,) and was huge! We passed on dessert but the options looked amazing. We will absolutely be back again SOON. Thank you.

The portion was substantial, so I didn't mind the high $$$. The service was also excellent. My only slight complaint was paying $8-9 for an iced coffee. Wife had the shaved fennel and burata. Also Excellent. I had the Tempura fish sandwich, figuring it would be a home run. I got a single, at best. It should have been called "Slaw sandwich on rubbery sourdough with a small portion of fried something that could be fish on top" To be fair, other dishes coming out to other tables looked great and gave me a strong case of "I should have ordered that" Wife had gazpacho, which was very good. We had desert. Skip it and go get Ice Cream at The Magic Fountain.
