My friend and I came wanted to switch and try something different for once and we ended up here. The experience was great, we just walked in and found seating right away. Very unique plates, their mushroom appetizer was delicious and so was the yeas bread with cheese which I forgot the name. We also had a milky chicken soup which I highly recommend. The place wasn't loud, just perfect for a nice dinner with a friend or even a date. The service was great too!

Pretty good Georgian restaurant actually. The dumplings are good and has decent amount of soup that's flavored well by the lamb. So many cheese things w bread that can't really go wrong.

Had a wonderful dinner here with another couple. The restaurant is really nice and we were seated at a table in their garden space, which was lovely. And the servers were all great. The four of us shared a few appetizers and then each ordered one of their entree stews. Everything we had was amazing! I was surprised by how delicious the Lobio was. I've never had a bean dish that was that flavorful! We would definitely recommend this restaurant.

We were happy to see that when we walked into this eleven year old restaurant, it looked brand new. The employees looked happy in general, and happy to see every guest walking in. I also noticed that they were speaking Georgian to each other. The place was spotless and very welcoming. We opted for the garden area, which had an impressive amount of plants and decorations. We then got a couple orders of henkali. Not as much liquid as we'd like or are used to, but very tasty. Next, we had one of the hachapuri. It was delicious. Like eating a pre-assembled cheese fondue. The perfect ratio of melted cheese and bread. Next, we got our entrees. The lamb stew, kidney bean stew, and chicken stew were all amazing. The beans were everyone's favorites. We finished with the ideali and Napoleon. The ideali was the winner here. The Napoleon lacked the many layers and cream that I would expect. Over all, it was an excellent meal and experience, and we would happily come back.

Food was absolutely delicious! Highly recommend the adjraruli bread and cheese bowl, mushroom or pork/beef dumplings, and the lentil stew entree. Would love to give 5 stars for the food alone, but they added an automatic 20% tip to the bill, without telling us - and we were only a group of 4! We almost missed this as it wasn't very obvious from the receipt, and for a small group you wouldn't expect an auto gratuity. We almost tipped more on top of this, as I'm sure many of their customers do... Not a very honest business practice.

We went here for dinner and the staff was friendly. The restaurant seemed to be pretty busy. We got the Khinkali and khachapuri as starters. I love the khinkali with lamb. It was super juicy and delicious. The khachapuri was also super cheesy and filling. My favorite was the shkmeruli. I love the buttery garlic sauce with the chicken. It tasted amazing when dipped with bread. We also got the chicken skewers which tasted pretty good. Overall, its a pretty good spot for georgian food in the city.

My friend loved Georgian food and saw this spot on social media so we decided to check it out. When we arrived it was pretty empty at 6:30pm until like 8pm when it started to fill up. The place was spacious and had a nice planty setup in the back. I've never tried Georgian food but I was surprised by how good it was! We started off with drinks and I had the mojito. I wish they had flavors because it was kind of bland. I forgot what drinks my friends ordered but they didn't like them too much. For our appetizer we ordered the Lobiani and we ate it too fast for me to take a photo (oops)! It was so delicious. Really warm, soft, and flavorful. I'm still thinking about it. For our entrees we had the Shkmeruli, Chanakhi, and Chicken Shish Kebab. I had the Chicken Shish Kebab and it was really good too. I'm not a big fan of salad but it was a nice pair with the chicken so I wouldn't feel disgustingly full. I also don't think rice is common with Georgian food because I don't recall seeing it on the menu. The star of my dish was the sauce. It was a pomegranate sauce and I had to ask for a separate bowl of it! I tried my other friends' soups and the Lobio was the best dish from our table. The Chanakhi has lamb which I'm not a fan of. Overall my first experience with Georgian food was great and I would come back. I may pass on the drinks though.

This place has been on my list for a long time and I finally tried it with friends visiting from Germany. We loved the flavors in all the food! The baked goods are a must. We also enjoyed the entrees of baked fish and veal in sauce. Great for groups or couples: We ate in the beautiful garden with real stones. It made it feel like we were in another world. The service was one of the best I've had and we appreciated the attentiveness.

Good food and nice ambiance and quick service. It's the sort of a place that doesn't offend you in any way, and checks all the boxes, while you also get to try a different cuisine. The khachapuri definitely is a must here, while the other options such as mushroom dumplings, and Lobio weren't too bad either.

A friend and I went to try Georgian food the other day and really had some fun exploring some of their veggie-friendly options. What we got that I would recommend: -Ajapasandali (oven roasted vegetables) these vegetables are incredibly flavorful and have a depth of flavor. This was my favorite thing we had. - Potato Ojakhuri: this was simple and yummy. Paired with the veggies and bread, it was good. - Spinach Khachapuri: a great side to top the other items you order on. Flakey and enjoyable. We also got the mushroom Kninkali (dumplings) but I felt these really lacked seasoning. I definitely want to come back and try some of their meat forward dishes but there are quite a few options if you're dining with someone vegetarian! 4/5

I am SO glad we did. The vibe drew us in, they had great music bumpin from the outside, it looked lively and welcoming. Let me tell you- I would have skipped dinner and just stayed here all evening if it was my choice! But alas, my husband wanted a bit more to eat. But let me tell you- their knowledge of wine is PRISTINE! I can't tell you what white wine we had but they captured our tastes perfectly. We also shared a bruschetta and it was deliciouso! I love how friendly the staff was here and how unpretentious it all was. Next time we are in NYC- we will definitely make a point to come visit Rake!

First I'll start with the wine - we ended up trying all three happy hour wines (HH until 7), which the tables favorites were the white and we ended up getting a bottle to split once HH ended (but I really enjoyed the other vino verde option). It was incredibly refreshing and paired well with the many tinned fish options. As you'd expect - it's a pretty massive selection and there is bound to be a varietal and glass for any palate. It's also attached to a wine store - so it's fine to see all the bottles when peaking over. Food-wise - this is where it was hit or miss, they have a pretty extensive menu (with a whole tinned fish section!) and we ended up ordering the buratta on focaccia (buratta was excellent, focaccia was too dense for my tastes), mushroom truffle crostini (way too salty), the flatbread with sliced kielbasa (was fine), halloume (table favorite ), tinned sardines in lemon oil (delicious), tinned smoked trout (my favorite). Overall the four of us were very full at the end of the meal! The space itself felt very relaxing and rustic, and definitely got busier as the night went on (we got there at 6:50 and left around 9). The service was also fast and attentive - even for the amount of tables they were serving. Overall - I'd definitely go back again, and maybe just focus on the wine and another tinned fish selection!

The ssam lettuce wraps were good, though they read a little more like Jewish brisket with a spicy bean sauce than what I expected from a Korean lettuce wrap. Still tasty, just a different vibe. Honestly, this would've been a 5-star meal if I didn't leave with three mosquito bites. Great food, great service, great wine -- just maybe bring bug spray.

The bar is very scenic so you will definitely feel like you are getting the full dining experience. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Make reservations for peak dining times in the evenings and on weekends. Many people walked in without reservations and were seated right away on Saturday evenings. Highly recommend trying their original cocktails ($18). We tried the flower child and the harvest moon. Both were tasty. I would get harvest moon again and again. Perfect balance of Tart, sweet refreshing and strong. Menu items change seasonally so it's delightful to try something new every time you visit. $21 potato croquettes were highly disappointing. Everyone recommended them highly, but I could not understand why. For such price, three tiny balls of fried potato should've been mind blowing, but they were underwhelming and forgettable at best. Skip. $24 giant ricotta stuffed raviolo was delightful. Such soothing comfort food. If I could eat just this, I would be happy. $26 fresh crudo was refreshing and light. Delicious cold broth/juice soup in which it was served. $32 Bronzino with mussels in a broth was superb. Light, crispy, and delicate. Would eat this dish for dinner Any night of the day. Balanced flavor profile. Could suit anyone who is picky about their food. $30 lamb neck was a solid dish. Perfectly crunchy on the outside and delicate and flavorful on the inside. Wish the portion was a bit bigger, especially the sides. $38 duck confit was highly advertised, however, it was underwhelming and the least stand out dish. It was solid, but nothing that I would order again or recommend. The duck was on the dry side. Definitely not enough sauce. The cabbage and the cabbage salad were good. Crispy and refreshing. The duck was not the star of this dish. $13 chocolate mousse with strawberry coulis was surprisingly delightful. So light and balanced. Not sweet, but just right to finish a meal. I could eat this dessert every day after every single meal. So simple, yet it hit the spot. Service is very fast and efficient. One of our readers was superb and provided stellar recommendations. Another waiter (young and inexperienced) was very shy and his energy felt very stifling.
