This was a great place for Georgian food in the West Village! A friend had been here before, and she suggested that we go together, and we had a great meal together. Between the two of us, we ended up sharing four dishes (no entrees), which was more than enough food for us so we actually got to take leftovers home. We got: - Georgian Garden Spreads (4/5) wish this came with more bread, but loved the mushroom and pumpkin spreads - Georgian Salad (4/5) hit the spot! - Round Adjaruli Khachipuri (5/5) this was soooooooo good. Absolutely delicious. - Mushroom Khinkali (4/5) this was a good portion size! The servers were all super friendly and very attentive with refilling our waters. The food also came out pretty quickly! A friend and I had dinner the other night and LOVED our meal, service, and decor!! Everything was incredibly tasty with amazing flavor. For appetizers we had the Georgian garden spreads and the trout tartare. For dinner we had the veal steak Kharcho served with elarji (Georgian grits with cheese) and it was to die for. And we had Tolma - beef wrapped in purple cabbage. So many incredible flavors it's hard to choose a favorite :) in addition to great food, everyone was helpful and attentive. The flavors were nice, but the dishes are really too expensive, which is probably not that surprising for the neighborhood. The three mushroom khinkali had a nice texture, and a savory filling. Beans from Samgrelo were slightly smoky beans in a spiced tomato sauce. Lots of warm flavors here. These came with two rolls of chewy cornbread. The issue is, the dishes are $45 before tax or tip, and the portions are kind of modest. Though the food is decent, I felt the cost isn't justified. read more

Came here with a group of friends on a Saturday night. Overall, we had a great dinner. We ordered a bunch of stuff from the menu and ate family style. Garden spreads: tasty, but they are so stingy with the bread. The dip to bread ratio is wild- makes no sense and we had to ask for more orders of the bread (and still have spread to spare) Khachipuri: this is a unique dish and one of the most famous dishes of Georgia. Get the classic boat shaped one with egg and cheese and experience pure salty, creamy, umami heaven. Their other options are also pretty intriguing as well- I forgot which we got in addition but it was good! The dumplings (khinkali): we LOVED the lamb dumplings. I could eat an entire bowl of those and happily fall into a food coma. The crab ones were a bit too fishy for my taste, but might be a hit for the right pallet. Everything else we got was solid. The cabbage tolma was delicious, although small-ish portion size. The blackberry raspberry sauce over the Cornish hen was excellent. Oh and they had a bunch of great drinks. Checked this new Georgian restaurant in Greenwich Village. Not bad . I had the beans from Sangrelo which is like a stew, came with cornbread. The dish was luke warm, could've been more hot. Dessert was winter orange winter wonderland. Can't say it was the best meal I ever had but it was different and tasty . Prices were high considering portions were on the small size . read more

This my first time having Georgian (country) food. The table split a variety of options, which were all delicious. My favorites were Georgian Garden Spreads and Dumplings. Unfortunately, the worst service I have ever experienced. I booked a reservation 3 weeks ago for 6:30pm. When I arrived at 6:30, they told me it would be 15 minutes before I could be seated. Never had this happen for a reservation, but it was busy and it was Valentine's Day, so I accepted. I waited as they continued to seat others. After 30 minutes, I checked with the host. She told me I was still in line and she would get me soon. Remember, I had a reservation. I would have left at this point, but it was Valentine's Day, so I wouldn't be able to get a walk in anywhere else, I was sort of trapped with this place. It was over an hour before I was seated. A 6:30 reservation, and I wasn't seated until 7:35. Already the night was ruined, but I didn't have a choice but to stay at this point. Took the waiter 20 minutes to take our order. Took even longer for the food to come out. Didn't get my food until 8:25. Food was fine, I liked the khachapuri. They were clearly understaffed, so most of the food was cold aside from the khachapuri. There was no apology, no understanding, nothing from the staff or management. Very expensive place for being such a horrible experience. I would hope on any other day the place is a good choice, but it absolutely ruined Valentine's Day. Waiting over an hour to be seated for my reservation I booked weeks in advance cements that I could never go back to this place again. Humiliating and painful dinner. read more

I saw a comment above about the service. I came in at 7:15 pm and asked if I could be out in time for my 8pm film down the block. Very friendly hostess. She said, "yes, no problem." Very friendly waiter. Told him of my time issue. No problem. He suggested a wine and wanted me to taste it. I did. It was good. He asked me what to order and I said whatever you suggest. I should have said"whatever's fastest." At 7:55 there was no food and I said I'd take it to go. He said it wouldn't be ready for ten minutes. He said he'd "keep it" and I paid $25 for the glass of wine. I went down the street and had a slice for $1.50. I wouldn't mind the slow service if I didn't have a time crunch. What an innovative twist the owner has created to present Georgian food to match the fast-paced track of New Yorkers! One will not be disappointed with anything that is served there. The Georgian vegetable spread leaves a memorable taste in the mouth that lasts well after one finishes it. The Georgian Mukado wine will, I believe, be a fan favorite and a regular repeat. We came here for brunch on a Saturday morning and our experience from start to finish was top notch. We couldn't get over how friendly everyone was--from the hostess, to our server, to the bartender, etc. We immediately felt so welcome and were excited for a nice meal. The atmosphere is absolutely beautiful and we loved their choice of peaceful background music. It's nice to enjoy a brunch and not have loud bass blasting in your ears. And now most importantly...the food! We have had Georgian food in a couple of spots throughout the city and we solidly agree that this has been the best. We shared their dip assortment (GET THEM), the squid ink and crab dumplings and one of their special breads with strawberry butter. Everything tasted as beautiful as it was presented.
