Short and simple. Old Orcutt needed this. Looking forward to them growing! The nursery is beautiful and service is on point.

The atmosphere was relaxed, welcoming, and full of good energy from the moment we walked in. I had the MadeWest Hazy on draft served in an ice-cold Pint, exactly what you want on a warm Santa Barbara day. My girlfriend had a great time, and the whole experience felt effortless and fun. One of the coolest parts of the visit was meeting Chris, a local who told us this is one of his favorite hangout spots and where he brings his dog Harlo. He gave us some awesome local recommendations and really added to the laid back community vibe that makes this place special. The bartenders and hosts were all attentive, friendly, and professional. You could genuinely tell the staff enjoys what they do, and that energy carries throughout the entire place. It's refreshing to see hospitality thriving like this in Santa Barbara. Definitely adding this to my regular stop whenever I'm in SB. Great drinks, great people, great atmosphere. Highly recommend. - Ian Lantz

What a wonderful surprise to find this gem buried on the otherside of SLO. After a week of hanging…read moreout at a hotel off the 101, it was time for a non-chain restaurant. Usually one for Obadtza and sauerkraut, I ventured and tried a version of a sheppard's pie. A surprisingly good dish with sauerkraut as the base, I couldn't have asked for more. Their beer selection seems plentiful, though I was not in the mood. I came here for dinner, but will definately return for their lunch specials. Coming here on a week night the place was just filling up as we were leaving making our service quick and personable. The ambiance was quiet but caan imagine it would get loud during a sporting match.

First, the place is kinda smallish: =========================== A small bar with 20 or so tables inside, and 2 places to sit outside: a covered area with about 8 tables and another 4 just outside the entrance door. Second, it's got 3 experiences (at least): ================================= * Lunch: not my preference, it's got no vibe. Food is good, service is good, vibe not since it's not busy * Dinner: great in all categories. Place is busting at the seams from 530p-on. Love. * Events: wonderful and loud especially during an event like World Cup. TV's are small, but it makes it more intimate and fun to gather close to yellers. Third, the food: ============== * The beer: OMG, love...love...love. All German bier all-the-time in various sizes from normal to HUGE, over a dozen types to choose from. * Schnitzel: had it once and it wasn't crispy, so now I ask for it "to be" when I place an order. So so good. They offer both chicken and pork, and have various ones from plain to/with sauces. * Sausages: awesome. I get the Wurst sampler plate with 3 sausages and 2 sides, and not problem, to take some home and heat up the next day. * Frikadellen: German meatballs with a creamy mustard sauce. So damn good. * Sides: love the spatzle (Spaetzle), potato salad, cucumber salad (ask for lightly dressed), sauerkraut, and red cabbage.

Good selection of beers, wine and a cider. The wife had a Guinness which she liked, which was a pleasant surprise after having lived in Dublin for five years she's picky about it. Nice, varied menu. Food was out really quick and was nicely presented. Service was way above normal pub standards. Two different TVs were on showing obligatory sports but what was was really impressive was the turntable playing LPs, something that I would expect in hipster Portland but not the central coast.

Tried a sample (and then ordered) the Shrine herb IPA, which was herbal for sure but not too hoppy ($9). Very good with the apricot and Brie grilled cheese! Yum, that was crazy. Very generous portion of Brie (and cheddar?). $17. Love their house vinaigrette on a generous portion of green salad as a side. The Oklahoma smash burger is a little light on the beef but very well prepared. Quality bun. Not quite enough to fill up my friend who ordered it; he asked how much a second patty would be: $5. On top of the $18 (with yummy fries), that might be a little pricey. But for the lighter appetite, or combined with a starter, this could be great. They had four beers as a special on this Thursday for $6. We sat inside by the door to the patio so stayed comfortably warm but could also enjoy the view of the pretty gardens. I love their signage about keeping your children "with you" (not running wild through the garden). Family friendly while keeping it adult-chill.
