Wienerschnitzel (pork) with fries and spätzle
    Trevor T.

Walked by Beda's because it is in the same plaza as my favorite Thai place in SLO (Thai Boat) and it looked fun so decided to stop in for lunch. They have outdoor seating and ordered a bunch of beer tasters (my favorite was the kölsch). We downloaded the SLO eats app and were able to get a HUGE discount. We both tried the wienerschnitzel with pork (don't get chicken) and they were so nice about my dairy allergy. I usually can't eat spätzle because it is cooked in butter, but they prepared mine in oil which was a treat. Fries were crunchy and we both cleaned our plates. Danke schön

Tried sometjing new. Nice little spot. Good beer list. Happy hour 2-6pm. I had never had German food. I liked what I tried. A noodle dish and a sandwich. I'd go back. It's casual seems like a place to gather with a few friends for a couple drinks in the afternoon.

Service was great! Super kind on the phone and greeting by one guy. He was super kind. But three bites into the Black Forest cake I got so sick. Not sure if food poisoning or cross contamination from gluten. Either way nightmare, super painful, vomiting. If you're sensitive to food poisoning or gluten free I wouldn't risk it sadly. But the cake was so pretty

Beda's da best! Great atmosphere, beer and food. Delicious, scrumptious deserts and savory sauces. Great staff. We had Ursula, and she was fantastic. Kudos Beda's. We'll be back!

We showed up at 5 o'clock, eight people and two children without a reservation! They were so helpful and patient with us. Excellent and attentive service, we all had a great time. Everyone was so kind and helpful great place

Enjoyed the food, and service was good. Beer in the boots was a lot of fun to share. I would have enjoyed having Germany music instead of 80. Just for more ambiance.

randomly came across this restaurant when me and my partner were traveling to SLO. we came in at around 12 PM and was promptly greeted by a server who was very helpful with menu recommendations and beer recommendations. we ended up getting schnitzel and sausage on pretzel bread; as our first time trying German food we absolutely loved it. would highly recommend anyone looking for a fun pub experience or something different to visit! will be back :)

Sauces come with the steak. Brussel sprouts were prepared with bacon and pickled onions.

The bartender, Jason, was entertaining and the selections delicious and perfectly prepared. We had the Wagu and Duck, Brussels sprouts and truffle fries!

Of the 11 of us, 7 were first-timers, and they thoroughly enjoyed every moment of the experience. Ian's knowledge and passion for the wines he serves are truly impressive. The time, care, and preparation he puts into pairing each wine with the food is absolutely out of this world. The attention to detail throughout the entire evening reflects how much he truly loves what he does. Whenever a friend or acquaintance plans a trip to Paso Robles, I always tell them they have to visit Somm's! It was such a memorable evening, and we can't wait to come back. From the moment we walked in, it felt less like a restaurant and more like being invited into someone's passion project. The intimacy of the setting made it special right away--small group, shared experience, and a level of attention you just don't get in a traditional dining environment. Each course was thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented, but more importantly, it delivered. The food was the clear star--clean, intentional, and incredibly well-executed. Every dish felt like it had a purpose. The steak and mushrooms were a standout, and dessert was right there with it. The wine pairings introduced us to bottles we wouldn't normally find or order ourselves, which added to the experience. If anything, I would've loved even more storytelling around the pairings--how and why each wine was chosen to complement the dish--but that's a small note in an otherwise incredible night. What really elevated the evening was the host's passion. You can feel it in how the food is prepared, how the evening flows, and how guests are brought into the experience. It's not just dinner--it's connection, storytelling, and craftsmanship all rolled into one. If you're looking for something beyond a typical night out--something more curated, more personal--this is absolutely worth it. A memorable night all around.

The atmosphere was relaxed, welcoming, and full of good energy from the moment we walked in. I had the MadeWest Hazy on draft served in an ice-cold Pint, exactly what you want on a warm Santa Barbara day. My girlfriend had a great time, and the whole experience felt effortless and fun. One of the coolest parts of the visit was meeting Chris, a local who told us this is one of his favorite hangout spots and where he brings his dog Harlo. He gave us some awesome local recommendations and really added to the laid back community vibe that makes this place special. The bartenders and hosts were all attentive, friendly, and professional. You could genuinely tell the staff enjoys what they do, and that energy carries throughout the entire place. It's refreshing to see hospitality thriving like this in Santa Barbara. Everything is high quality and fresh for reasonable prices. Charming, cozy decor with Danish accents. Service is also excellent and warm. Quiche with Hollandaise Sauce - Light, buttery flaky crust, light, fluffy eggs. Absolutely delightful, leeks provided good texture. Came with a strip of bacon. Was so amazing hardly ate the sauce. Don't think you can sub salad for fries but no worries, as the breakfast potatoes were amazing. Many places offer breakfast potatoes but something seemingly simple is actually hard to make well. My friend's Bratwurst Sausage with Eggs, her favorite, was hearty and filling. A lot of indoor seating but we enjoyed our table outside, watching pedestrians on State St. and enjoying the beautiful scenery and architecture. We expected to wait to be seated but surprisingly it wasn't that busy. Order at counter and the food is brought to your table. As we waited, employee kindly gave us two free pastry samples, both delicious. All the baked goods I got to go I want again. Their scones are fabulous-slightly crunchy on the outside, light and fluffy on the inside. Their tea service which comes with champagne is pricey, I believe $75 per person. But interior is a perfect colorful and relaxed setting for tea. My tastebuds dream of coming back. Will be thrilled when I next indulge on their pastries and quiche.

SCORE 0 HEALTH HAZARD 10…read more This is our third time we've had issues with the staff. Today is our last time going here. There was only one person in line and 4 staff members behind the counter standing around talking to each other. Nobody greeted us or asked for our bakery order. When I said excuse me to a dirty blond girl she replied "WHAT!" and continued to joke with a co worker. When the cashier finished with their customer they walked away and even though they saw we were waiting to be helped. I looked around and saw nobody helping seated customers or us at the bakery counter. Finally, the dirty blonde ask what we need and my response was "WHAT" ?! At this point we should have left and gone to Lilac Patisserie however we proceeded to give her our order. I told another customer behind us that rudeness seems to be the norm, and she agreed. I paid for our bakery items and asked an older woman scrolling on her phone if we could have a bag for all of our boxed treats. She grabbed a handful of bags and threw them at me from across the counter. We were appalled and left. We found a place to sit on State street to eat our treats and my daughter said she didn't want her Meringue because the dirty blonde girl used the back of her ungloved hand to repeatedly wipe her nose. We threw all $50 worth of baked goods in the trash. Yes, I should have gone back and complained I'm had everything refunded but it was Mother's Day and we didn't want anything more to do with this establishment. It was also an epiphany that they don't treat everyone this way. It could be you next time. Please go somewhere else. We will never go to anywhere but Lilac Patisserie which is to the left as you exit Andersons, past the stop light. You will definitely get your money's worth and the staff is friendly, professional, and greet you immediately as you reach the counter.
