Excellent service and great food. I hadn't read the reviews here before I went and ordered from their special any 3 items for $13. I ordered 2 eggs scrambled, pancakes, and a cinnamon roll. My sister ordered the same except selected the potato pancake. The waiter first brought the eggs and pancakes and we started eating. Scrambled eggs were good and both loved the pancakes! Our mom made potato pancakes for us and after a taste of my sisters I agreed these were great. The waiter then came out with two huge family size cinnamon rolls! The hallmark of a good breakfast diner is the ability to poach eggs to perfection. That, I think, also coupled with service staff who will check in to see how your meal is and if you need anything else. Unfortunately, my first visit today will likely be my last as the eggs I ordered were very poorly poached and the server failed to stop back to check on the quality of the breakfast or if we needed anything else. Even when presenting us with our check, did not ask how everything was particularly when it was obvious that the eggs were uneaten. We waited about 20 minutes to be seated, which wasn't terrible, but the overall experience only went downhill from there. We had actually tried calling the week before to ask a few questions, but when we arrived, we were told their phone hasn't been working for years. It would be nice if that information was updated somewhere instead of leaving customers unable to reach the restaurant. Another disappointment was finding out they no longer serve or sell their freezer jam. Their website still shows it, and it was honestly one of the main reasons we decided to come back. Finding out after we arrived was frustrating. The service was also lacking. Our waitress never checked on us, and we had to flag her down three to four times just to get coffee refills. To only be told they lost the ticket ( is what the waitress told us )after watching everybody get their food around us after we had ordered.. The service is horrible. I've had to get up from the table every time I needed something and asked them for it. .The food is nothing to write home about. The sausage, gravy and biscuit. My husband got, the biscuits were rock hard. There was very little gravy on them and flavorless watered down gravy.. I asked for gluten-free pancakes sugar-free syrup and for my food to be completely sugar-free. I stopped in here to get some cinnamon rolls to go on my way home from my daily 7-mile walk (the irony of this is not lost on me). Service was prompt and friendly, and I was in and out of there in under five minutes, complete with a paper-handled to-go bag that weighed a LOT more than I'd have expected for two cinnamon rolls. The cinnamon rolls are HUGE, like small dinner plate sized. There were also two tubs of frosting provided for each. I should have ordered one, and I'll know better for next time. One is big enough for two people. Based on the size, they're quite a bargain. Overall, the cinnamon rolls are quite good. They're not the elusive, AMAZING rolls like one can get in bakeries in NY, but they're definitely better than most. One off-putting item was the completely empty "Retail" shelf, safe for a couple of bins of crayons and a dirty rag. The establishment was at capacity on my visit, and the portion sized looked to be on the overly large side, and it smelled quite good. Patrons seemed to be happy. It might of been an "off" day for this restaurant but we could not believe the place only had 2 waitresses working during breakfast hours! Those poor ladies were working as fast as they could; taking orders, delivering food & cleaning tables! They needed more help!! Came on a Saturday morning, admittedly it was busy but the staff was extremely slow and disorganized. We sat down at around 10 but did not receive our food until around 11:30. We were never checked on, the food was incredibly mediocre. I don't expect much from a chain diner in terms of quality but I at least expect quick service because the food served is not complicated or hard to prepare. I come here semi often and they never disappoint. The staff is always friendly. There is a good amount of room with lots of tables. They have a loyalty program so every few visits you get a lil money off. The food is always big portions and will fill you up. Sunday after church, I ordered fish and chips with onion rings and a cup of chili. nearly an hour later, meal delivered to table, I broke a piece of fish open to find water dripping out of the panko batter, inside of the batter was wet. all three pieces were the same. Fish was translucent or uncooked. Onion rings were burnt and tasted foul. Cup of chili was cold. I set the plate aside and told the waitress not to fuss with it, but she insisted on taking the meal off my ticket. My spouse received fish sandwich and pancake, all acceptable. The waitress said it was a bad day and to catch her on a better day. "We are better than this." I did not hold her responsible, obviously the kitchen has issues. And I was still hungry. Kitchen table is your average breakfast joint. You can except to see everything you'd imagine at an American breakfast restaurant here except for oatmeal. My family enjoyed there meals but many of us ordered the Benedict and there was a big inconsistency with the yolk texture. I don't typically get picky about things being over cooked but this is one of those things where the runny yolk is kind of why you get this dish. Hate to drag a local restaurant but the quality of the food we've gotten here has slowly gone downhill and tapered off at bad. I got one of the worst deliveries in recent memory today. It took forever for the food to be ready for pickup so it was cold when it got to us, and then when we opened up the boxes it honestly felt like what it would look like if somebody made breakfast while they were sleepwalking. Like there were *elements* of a cohesive, hot breakfast in there but taken together you could barely call it a meal. My husband ordered red potatoes and they were raw and cold. My chorizo tacos... honest to god I don't think the meat in there was chorizo but I don't know what it was. It did not taste like chorizo. And mixed up in the meat were random soggy chopped up vegetables that weren't mentioned on the menu and that have not been present the previous times I ordered this dish. Clumped together slices of avocado, a solid brick of hash brown with no crispness or detectable salt application. Truly bad and I doubt we will order from here again. We have been here a couple of times now and it's quickly become our favorite. They offer your typical diner fare. The food is fresh, the portions are large. We had to wait for a table the second time we went, not too much of a surprise, they are pretty busy. Their food was okay, but they lost my business when the 'manager' of the location put a tip on my meal after I opted for no tip as we left the tip in cash, and when I emailed the owners to tell them as I didn't want to blast this crooked employee publicly, they couldn't bother to even respond. The waitress was very good, the coffee and OJ was fast... my order which included soft poached eggs was served promptly within 5-8 minutes. They were busy... yet seemingly efficient.
