This is a good old fashioned breakfast and lunch cafe with a huge menu, good food made from scratch and friendly personal service! My server, Sowsa, was super helpful and attentive, and her recommended turkey and Brie sandwich was delicious, as were the batter- dipped fries with homemade ranch dressing. I took my bread pudding to go because it's a house specialty and, I mean, BREAD PUDDING!

Food: Went here for breakfast and the food was pretty decent. Nothing extraordinary, but reasonable and they served my waffles with what appeared to be house-made whipped cream. Ambiance: A little older and beat up, but still reasonably comfortable Service: Honestly a little slow and it took awhile for them to take our orders, but I could tell they were understaffed

Cute place for brunch located in Auburn paid parking lot next to restaurant as well as plenty of street parking. The day we went we were a party of two and were sat quickly. I went with the Cali scramble, huge portion! I definitely want to come back and try the Bloody Marys those things look absolutely divine.

Googled place for breakfast in Old Town Auburn to start a casual day trip and was pleasantly surprised. I was craving protein and am in a healthier eating kick currently and using Weight Watchers. Girlfriend and I split Ribeye (they were out and had tri-tip). There is a $2 charge for splitting, but considering the portions worth it. Food was excellent, service solid and atmosphere was awesome.

We were traveling and decided to stop in Old-town Auburn for breakfast and we found the Old Town Grill, it was perfect. We got to sit outside they had many mimosa choices and the menu selection was big. My husband and I split the egg scramble with biscuits & gravy on the side instead of toast! The food was delicious and the service superb and for California the price was just right. Look forward to another visit in the future.

In Auburn for the day, and decided to take a chance on this restaurant. Well, so happy I chose this place! I was immediately greeted by a friendly server named Sowsan, and she showed me to my table. It happened to be in her section anyway, and she was so friendly and attentive to anything I needed. I came in around brunch time, so I opted for an omelette with fresh fruit and an English muffin, and it did not disappoint. The food came out in good time, everything looked lovely and pleasant, and for one person, the portion was more than enough. The fruit was fresh and flavorful as was the avocado on top of the omelette. I also ordered an almond milk latte, and Sowsan made it for me. She even asked if I wanted cinnamon on top, which, of course, yes! The ambience of this place is casual and cute, with cheerful plastic table cloths featuring sunflowers and decorations of more sunflowers and chickens on the wall. There is an espresso bar where they can make anything you want that's coffee-related! Sowsan also informed me they make hot chocolate with homemade whipped cream, which I will definitely have to get the next time I'm passing through. In my opinion, this restaurant is family friendly. There's also an outdoor patio, so if the weather is nice, I would bring children and sit outside. Inside would be fine as well, but since it is a more cozy space, if your children like to be on the active side, sitting outside would be a more comfortable experience. Overall, I'm very happy that I chose this place to have my brunch at. The prices, the ambience, the friendliness of the staff, the cleanliness, and the historical aspect of the building all made for a wonderful and pleasant experience. I look forward to dining here again the next time I am in Auburn.

Shared the crab cake Benedict with my dining companion and it was really great. The crab cake was the same size as the English muffin half it sat on and the hollandaise sauce over the poached egg made it a delicious combination. We opted to have fruit and it was varied and complemented the crab Benedict perfectly. The other dining companions had the corned beef hash and eggs with hash browns and sour dough toast and they were happy with their order except they had to flag down the wait person to request their toast and didn't manage that until they were just about done eating their meal. The four of us shared the bread pudding with brandy sauce. We ordered the one with the walnuts and while it was delicious, there weren't very many nuts. It was certainly enough for more than four people; we couldn't finish it. This was a good find and I would recommend it, especially since The Pour Choice had such a long line of people waiting to get in. I can't imagine that their food could be that much better!

    What amazing dishes

I ordered a vegetarian omlette with fruit, and received a huge plateful of food. Everything was fresh, especially the fruit which had a variety and not the usual sad melon. The omelet was stuffed with nicely cooked veggies and covered with more. My SO and brother also ordered omelets stuffed with various meats and crisp potatoes, also delicious. Coffee was average but plentiful. Alright why is this not a 5 star given the food is amazing? The service is terrible. I believe it "might" be the owner, but it is run by an angry, scowling rude woman who shouts orders to her staff. Ownership entitlement does not suit her well. I could not believe this person was even working, they were so disgruntled and gave the small restaurant a dark vibe. I truly felt bad for the young staff bustling around. I would eat here again because everything we ordered was delicious and the kitchen is clearly talented, but expect zero niceties or friendly banter. It definitely ruins the overall ambiance and I am not the first person to note this. Tip, order the potatoes they are season perfectly.

It had a touch of spice and was garnished with celery, a green olive, a spicy green bean, pepperchini, a lime, and a pearl onion. For lunch, we decided to order of the weekend specials menu! I ordered the Carnitas & chorizo Huevos Stack and she ordered the Chicken Fried Steak Dip... service was good. While we waited for our food, my client had to use the restroom twice. From where we were sat, it was quite a long walk, but it was an accessible ramp she was able to use since she has a cane. The steps would've been too much for her. When our meals arrived... both were stunning. My huevos Stack was not all it was cracked up to be. Although they had great crispy tortillas underneath, it had a lot of other soft foods on it that didn't give it much texture. Refried beans, over medium eggs, pico de gallo, red enchilada sauce, and not much meat on it to go around the plate to even it out. Dianne's Country Fried Steak Dip looked and tasted like it was created by someone that knows their breakfasts! Between 2 slices of parmesan toasted bread, there was a thin country fried steak, with over medium eggs, cheese, and BACON!!! And a side of gravy to dip into. That was a million times better than the huevos Stack! So I politely asked our server if I could switch to that special. She got the order in right away and it was out fast. Every bite had the perfect amount of flavor and their sausage gravy tasted insanely good! Both my client and I went home worth half of our meal. She was so happy and it melted my heart that I helped her have an amazing birthday. With the help of Awful Annie's, they helped her birthday become a home run!!! Delicious bloody Mary's, double delicious on our Country Fried Steak Dips, and fine service from the best in town! Thank you Awful Annie's!!

Happy Easter everyone!…read more Today, my daughter and I went out to breakfast here at Sweetpeas. It is located off the freeway on the corner of Bowman and Luther roads. There was plenty of parking when we pulled in. As you walk in, you seat yourself. I hadn't been here before, but my daughter has. When we sat down (table and chairs kinda place), one server got us a couple of waters while we were looking over the menu.. perfect, because that's what we love to drink. After we decided on what we wanted I got a chance to look around at the decor on the walls. It felt very family friendly with baby pictures on the walls, signs, coffee mugs along the restaurants name spelled out on the wall. It was very cute and cozy. My daughter ordered the Carnitas Omelet (Carnitas omelet with jack cheese, black beans, red onions, avocado, and black olives, topped with sour cream. Served with sourdough toast and fresh fruit) with strawberries. I ordered the Huevos Ranchero's with eggs over medium (Corn tortillas, refried beans, 2 eggs, sour cream, avocado, homemade salsa, and cheese cheese. Also served with a side of salsa.) We didn't wait long, it arrived within 10 minutes. Also, after smelling their delicious coffee, I had to have a cup! A+!!!! My daughter let me try her Carnitas Omelet. Their Carnitas is on point! It was tender and has great flavor! Her omelet was beautifully cooked, being that it was gorgeous, yellow and fluffy. My Huevos Ranchero's was crispy in the bottom as I requested. I love the topping of avocado. The only thing I would change is to get all the salsa on the side. There was quite a bit on the Huevos Ranchero's themselves and it was a little overwhelming. Next time, I'll order it completely on the side. The menu has it listed as homemade... it tasted a little bit like it was Pace chunky salsa. I didn't even touch the side of salsa that also comes in the side and I wasn't sure what the extra side of tortillas was for, but I took those home. My daughter took home about half of her 3 egg omelet and some toast. Maddy was a great server. Everyone helped each other out by doing coffee refills for all tables (not just their own), running out hot food, and helping clean up tables as people finished their plates. Great team work!
