We have been here twice and it is the best breakfast place we have ever been to. We live in Missouri. It is very busy. There were 2 of us. We got in quick, service was fast and excellent. Everyone there was great. You are missing out if you do not try this fabulous restaurant. We live 7 hours away and would eat there once a week if we had the opportunity.

Upon entering the restaurant, there was no wait for a table and was immediately seated. A couple minutes after I was given a menu, my waitress came by asking for my order. At that moment, I could only provide my coffee order. For some reason, the table was setup with coffee creamer but no sweeteners. I specifically asked for sweetener, but she forgot to bring any with the coffee. By the time she remembered, my first cup was half finished. I ordered the Texan with sausage. For my sides, the hash brown casserole and avocado slices. At other restaurants, the sausage would have been crumbled and mixed into the eggs. In the Texan, the sausage was cut into medium-sized cubes which were awkward to eat. The hash brown casserole was the best thing on the plate. They were unexpectedly a bit spicy.

Pancake, omelet with fried potatoes and grits. The potatoes were fantastic!!!

Visiting Grapevine and we were looking for an affordable breakfast spot. I am so glad we found this place. The portions are massive and the food is delicious. Service was great, friendly server and the food came out fast. I was surprised it wasn't more packed. We will prob stop by one more time before we leave town. Definitely give it a shot if you're in the area. The fried potatoes are worth mentioning! So crispy and crunchy

Everything was great but especially the coffee. Normally I don't even order coffee in restaurants because it's so bland but here is different. It's the best, richest coffee I have had in a restaurant in a long time. I couldn't stop talking about it.

I enjoyed it. There is a line for a reason. Classic breakfast with a twist. You can get regular French toast but then they have cinnamon bun French toast and some infused with cream cheese or cheese cake, not sure. But the food I had which was the original French toast, hash brown casserole, two eggs and sausage, was good. ~$16 I think it was called the Vigilante. My family of 5 had plenty of food and juice for less than ~$80 with tip. 5.

Where to begin?! First, I'd like to start by saying that Old West Cafe's skillet choices don't receive the love they're due. The Philly Skillet with its bell peppers and mushrooms was a beautiful excuse to have the taste of a cheese steak in the morning. The Coosie easily became a breakfast favorite with its savory mix of gravy, biscuits, bacon & eggs. The blueberry pancake was my wife's so I can't speak to its taste but it did appear quite enjoyable. The atmosphere is very western, so there's need to dress fancy. Lastly, the servers are quite friendly so it's a place I'll definitely be returning to.

This place is amazing. Huge and delicious portions . The biscuit and gravy was good, the gravy a tad on the thin side but I enjoyed it and I'm picky about my gravy. The huge cinnamon roll was yummy. The blueberry pancakes were so big and really delicious!!! The hash browns perfectly crisp. They get you in and out pretty quickly so if there is a wait - stay and enjoy your meal!!!! Oh and our waitress was so sweet I wish I could remember her name . Very hospitable

Omg!!!! That's all I'm going to say. I can see why this place is packed. The food was so amazing!!! The service was great and I knew this place was great when they came out with a regular size cup for orange juice.

    Bronco and a Deputy Omelet...

We were up in Grapevine and I wanted a Texas Cafe breakfast. Those are usually hard to find "in the big city" but we saw Old West and went in. A table for two was immediately available, I felt sort of bad for the larger groups waiting outside... after those three seconds of self torment, we were seated and this adventure began. I thought I ordered a "normal" sized breakfast. The Bronco is one flapjack, two eggs, two of one meat and a side. Two plates and a skillet later, it was on the table. The flapjack is a meal in itself. Everything was yummy. Couldn't eat it all. Will be back!

This was our first visit. We were met with a welcoming smile and seated quickly. It was close to lunch time and fairly busy. We both enjoyed omelet breakfast's. Wild West With biscuits & gravy. Super tasty. And I chose Farmhand w/hash-browns and sourdough toast. These are 4 egg omelets and huge. Lots of good food and a good price. Restaurant looks like something off the beaten path, put it's very clean and western decor. Very cute!! We highly recommend giving this place a try.

Old West has become our stop when we pick up our son at the airport. They have great Texas food with a Texas ambiance. The service is also "Texas." Many natives pride ourselves for being friendly. So far, all of our servers have been super friendly! I got the Bandit, two eggs, bacon, biscuits n gravy. It was delicious! My son got some pumpkin flapjacks. He tore them up, so I expect he liked them! This is a 13 minute drive from DFW terminal, and is a good and affordable breakfast!

Such a cute western themed spot!! I love all the decor. The staff was very friendly. We tried a variety of dishes and most were good except the Texas toast was not that good. It was just plain. I wouldn't mind going back and trying other dishes.

Ask the Community - Old West Cafe

    Can we make Reservations?

No. They loudly and proudly proclaim on their website that the do neither reservations nor call-ahead seating. (I paraphrased - and translated - as the website is clearly taking a Cowboy metaphor to the next level).

Can you sub regular egg in omelette with egg whites?

I have noticed they are usually open to however you want your breakfast.

Why is there a check in button for this cafe?

All Yelp businesses have a check in button. It indicates that you are at the business, it has nothing to to do with reservations or a waitlist.

What's the best food to purchase?

I have only had breakfast. THe omlettes are solid. Side orders of home fries and bacon were also worth it.

What gluten-free items do they have?

Eggs, bacon, sausage (maybe?), potatoes, and grits.

The Texas chili had a good level of heat, but it was a bit gritty, as if it may have been slightly over-seasoned. My sour cream chicken enchiladas were decent, though not outstanding--the chicken was cubed rather than shredded, which affected the texture for me. My guy ordered the taco salad with spicy beef and really enjoyed it, though it definitely brought the heat--he was sweating by the end. Even so, he said he'd order it again. What really elevated the experience was our waiter, Cameron. He was friendly, attentive, and offered great suggestions. He kept our drinks full without us ever having to ask, refilling our tea at least five times. His service alone took the experience from a 3-star to a 4-star visit.

I would probably give it a B. We did not try the chili, and it is a chili parlor, so shame on us. That said, the sampler platter was nice. It is worth a return trip for another good band. I will say we atleast liked the atmosphere and ambiance better at 1845 than we did at Rustico. But it was more of the same- incredibly overpriced BLAND food. Not at all worth the price you're paying, severely lacking in flavor, and takes waaaaay Too long to be delivered to your table after ordering. We started with the Texas Trio and we did enjoy that. It is kind of hard to mess up queso, salsa and pimento cheese- however we did say that was one thing we would eat again and was worth its value. My husband and other son bothe ordered cheeseburgers at $22 a pop and both said the burger they get at local pint was a million times better and a lil cheaper. I got the smothered chicken and It was very disappointing! The chicken was so bland it was like a notch above school cafeteria food (seriously) I swapped the rice for mashed potatoes and they were good (not great but good) and the Brussels sprouts which were really tasty but VERY small Portion for price. I've eaten at incredibly high end steak places that charge the same For a side of sprouts and give you more than double what I got tonight at 1845. The birthday boy got a strip steak and potatoes and he gave each of us a bite. $49 for this steak- a good size- but NO FLAVOR at all. Last but certainly not least- our server was nice enough and attentive HOWEVER he had on the Meta glasses that record people and that made our entire table very uncomfortable. My son said he had seen tik tok accounts where waiters record their patrons and post it! (Not saying he was but it definitely changed the atmosphere of our dinner) He also seemed notably disappointed and different after we didn't order the $49 appetizer and no alcohol. Visible mood shift but he did remain professional. All in all, we are baffled by the good reviews. And very very surprised at the quality of product and price point considering Marty Bs coffee has AMAZING food quality and pricing and so does the restaurant, just doesn't seem to be translating to the other establishments. :-(

I arrived during the lunch rush, and both the parking lot and the restaurant were packed. Even though they were extremely busy, we were immediately greeted by a courteous and polite young man who quickly escorted us to a booth. We were seated in Ms. Maria's section, and she was a wonderful server. She greeted us with a warm smile, brought us menus along with the lunch menu, chips and salsa, and promptly served our water. She gave us plenty of time to look over the menu and was friendly, attentive, and very courteous throughout our meal. The chips and salsa were very good. My only suggestion would be to offer a salsa without cilantro for those who prefer it. We ordered the Create Your Own Combo Plate, which included a chicken flauta, a crispy taco, rice, and refried beans topped with cheese for $15.50. The taco was perfectly crispy and well seasoned, while the chicken flauta was covered in a flavorful red chile sauce that had just the right amount of heat. The rice and refried beans were seasoned perfectly and complemented the meal well. We also ordered the chimichanga, smothered in cheese sauce and served with rice and refried beans, for $16.00. It was well seasoned, delicious, and satisfying. The flavors weren't overpowering--they were balanced and enjoyable, making it a dish I would gladly order again.
