It brought me back to my polish grandmother's cooking when I was younger. I received so much compliments about the food. Returned to the Polish Deli today with my boyfriend (his first time) for lunch and coffee. We ordered cappuccinos and split a Polish ham and cheese sandwich (inhaled before we could take a picture), Hunter's Stew, the beef tripe soup, and potato cheese onion pierogis. We savored each appetizingly-plated dish, which was prepared hot, fresh and absolutely delicious. My boyfriend has a relatively picky palate, and he was thoroughly impressed. What a great deli. We were in town for a few days and this place caught my eye. The young lady working was very knowledge about the deli and homemade items. We chose some homemade pierogi and cabbage rolls to take home. The cabbage rolls are huge and very tasty. We picked up some items fro the deli as well. The Morski cheese is creamy and flavorful. The Kabanos kielbasa is ready to eat and smoky and flavorful. And finally the Gypsy bacon is excellent with a great smoky flavor and crisps up nicely when cooked. read more

Unfortunately there aren't many authentic Polish spots in South Florida but thank goodness for Old World. My boyfriend just moved down from NY and was used to eating Polish food daily and going to all of the Polish grocery stores in Brooklyn. We were so happy to stumble upon this spot even though it's quite a drive from us. We got some snacks, drinks, and pierogis but we can't wait to go back on the day they make bigos! I went in for the first time last weekend. I was looking for pirogies. When arriving I was promptly greeted with a smile and friendly face. I told the lady I was looking for pirogies and went above and beyond showing me what they had, gave me her recommendations which I'd asked for and was just wonderful towards me. The pirogies were soooooo good, easy to prepare. I bought 3 different bags to bring home and my family and I tried them all. My recommendation after cooking them is to boil the meat pirogies as well as the potato onion and cheese ones. After having those and the garlic ones, I'd buy all three again for sure, but I'd pan fry the garlic potato pirogies. Pirogies are one of my favorite foods so having these hand made and frozen to bring home and cook whenever is wonderful! Thank you for the wonderful service and top quality food! read more

What a mixed bag of reviews Old World Polish Deli seems to have, but for the most part, I noted a good number of them have to do with car towing and some sort of parking space riff with the neighboring business of Blue Willy's Barbecue. So, though being a longtime patron Blue Willy's even back to the day when he hustled his delightfully good barbecue out of the back of a red trailer, I decided to give Old World Polish Deli a try. When I went to park there were plenty of spaces designating parking only for Old World Polish Deli along with a clear abundance of warning signs that, if you weren't a patron, you were going to be towed. So, unless whoever was parking in those spaces and got towed, unless they were a complete illiterate, it clearly looked to me like they may only have themselves to blame. Anyway, I generally do most of my shopping at smaller ethnic or specialty markets; some them Russian, some Hungarian, some Polish, a good number of Italian, and of course, probably because I'm ethnically Swedish, my beloved IKEA. Yes, with the exception of IKEA, the prices tend to be higher, but the taste and flavor of what you get is otherwise unmatched. In these regards the foods I've purchased, such as herrings, bacons & etc. at Old World Polish Deli have indeed followed that general rule of being better in flavor and though I generally order my bacon custom from Nueske's, have found their "Danish" (though I'm baffled about "Danish" in a Polish market) bacon being rather close to its equal as well as a lot less pricey. The first time I entered the store, somewhat contrary to the situation others have stated, I was more than warmly greeted by the owner who, knowing I hadn't shopped there before, gladly gave me complimentary tastings prior to my purchases. It's certainly not a big store, a nothing in comparison to the large Polish markets of Cheektowaga (a sub of Buffalo), those of the Strip Area of Pittsburgh or various district areas of Chicago. However, it is well stocked, has ample supplies of about anything Polish you might need, is spotlessly clean and has a couple of tables and chairs for those that would like to eat foods from a small but rather decent menu offering. Too bad others seem not to have had a good shopping experience, but I can only attest to my personal experiences. And as to the parking situation, I can see that Blue Willy's, being as popular as it is, does have a problem, but one can hardly expect the owner of the property next door to provide Blue Willy's patrons with his parking spaces. read more

I make Nut and Poppy Seed Rolls. Their version of the Poppy Seed Roll does well enough that if I am not in the mood to make one, I'll buy one of theirs. They sell something else that is a bacon game changer. I will NEVER and I mean NEVER buy another bacon unless it comes from them. It is called Gypsy Bacon and apparently, you can eat it right off the slicer. I would never attempt it, but my husband did and he is still alive. I pop 6 slices in the microwave and we are happy as pigs in sh*t while eating our Sunday breakfast. I've also made Shrimp and Grits using the bacon and it takes just as good as one you would find in NOLA. It is a small shop, but packs a big punch on your polish food needs. The staff is very friendly and accommodated my request to put the bacon in separate tissues so that I could easily pick out a pack from the freezer. We will pick up more items on the next trip for bacon. read more

Wow! I need to review this place to take away some of the horrible reviews that have NOTHING TO DO with the quality or service of the market. First of all, over 50% of the reviews here are of people complaining about their car being towed because they parked here to dine at Blue Willies (which is a great place btw) and didn't read the signs posted (or neglected to heed the warning). The lot is small, other businesses are entitled to their parking regardless of their age or amount of business. If you parked there and got towed because you neglected to read the sign, guess what?! That's your own fault! Don't knock a perfectly good business because you were careless and didn't pay attention to the very obvious signage. Now that's out of the way, I am a first time customer I have never been here before and I was treated with compassion and respect. The owner (Thomas is his name) truly cares about his clientele and offered me samples of everything I asked about!!! Cheese, ham, sausages, he encourages you to try his products! That means he is passionate about what he sells and wants his customers to enjoy it too. That is the model is great customer service. He was very knowledgeable and described everything and answered any questions I had. We asked him about his favorite polish beer (he sells quite a few) and he told us and recommended several others. Me and my friend stopped here impromptu since we were headed to Blue Willies for dinner. I ended up buying quite a few really nice products and some meats, he was nice enough to give me a bag of ice to keep the meats cool while they sat in my friends car. He was incredibly friendly and encouraged us to come back another time to try other products. There is no reason to give a place negative reviews when you're angry about your car being towed or because "you're not an old polish person so you can't appreciate the food" seriously. Okay. So. To begin with, my grandparents on my mom's side immigrated to the United States from Poland around 1914-ish, or just before WWI ... most likely to escape the horror of war. Like hundreds of thousands of European families who left the old country for the Midwestern section of the United States in the early part of the 20th century, my grandparents purchased some fertile land in the northern woods of Wisconsin, settled in, and became dairy farmers. My grandmother, who by all accounts was a terrific cook and baker, would prepare all types of recipes. She baked homemade breads (kneading the dough), cakes and Polish donuts (called pączki), soups, pierogi's, and stuffed cabbage, among other recipes. My grandparents had 13 children, including my mother. My grandma passed down these recipes to my mom, and my mom, who departed us in 2004, would prepare these terrific recipes for us. My six siblings and I have very fond memories. I often search for Polish deli's and bakeries in South Florida with the hope that I could taste my mom's recipes again, and I think I found the place ... Old World Polish Deli. For around 20 minutes, I spoke with the owner gent, who emmigrated from Poland, along with his wife, to South Florida nearly 20 years ago. It was a pleasant conversation, and it revolved around the story above. As I learned, the husband and wife team make the food, and the food is homemade, and it's terrific. I purchased a host of homemade recipes, including bean soup (awesome), potato and cheese pierogi's (awesome), and stuffed cabbage rolls (awesome). There are a few tables and chairs set up in the store. You can sit down and eat there if you want. The owner gent, who is extremely friendly and helpful, said next time I come, he'll pop open some wine to sample with the food. They also have a host a Polish groceries and Polish beer, and of course the deli. I ordered some baked ham (awesome), too. He also suggested I try some Hunter stew, which I'll try next time. The Hunter stew has all of the things you'd fine in a stew, but this version includes kielbasa Polish sausage chunks. Sounds really good. I also told him that my mom would make pączki treats, too, and he says they do make them here on Thursdays. If you google this donut name, you'll learn that it's a Fat Thursday Polish tradition, which is why they only make them on Thursday. I stumbled upon this place because it's two doors down from Blue Willies. So, every time I visit Blue Willies, I'll certainly stop in and purchase something homemade here, too. Just found this new Polish Deli on S. Federal Hwy. What a great selection of specific Eastern European treats. We found a large variety of hard to find chocolates, cookies and jams. It's a small family owned deli that is very personal in helping you understand what delicacies they have to offer. We bought some delicious, "Delicje Apricot Biscuits", a very light biscuit filled with apricot jam and covered in light milk chocolate, "E. Wedel Mleczna Kokowa", a coconut filled chocolate that just melted in your mouth, and "Alexandra's Home Style Pierogi's", we picked the mushroom and kraut fillings that we never saw before. Their prices seem very reasonable, a very large selection of ice cold Polish beer that went great with a piece of Polish sausage stick's that we tried. I came here for the beer sausage but the kielbasa is what set the mood. I've always had an affinity for polish goods and while in Boca, I decided to make a well-deserved stop here ok my way up north for some nice cured meats. The prices were exceptionally reasonable and the pickled flavors in the sauerkraut were the perfect contrast to the hearty sausage served alongside it. I read about their dessert pierogi pieces so I split one with my boyfriend as we stocked up on delicacies to bring on our road trip. The rolls are fresh and perfect for the sausages sourced here. A thin slab of butter and a hot press on the bread press ensures a savory and crunchy delivery system for their juicy meats. They also sell some nice polish beers which led me to the porter I snagged to accompany my delicious order. Once we grilled all the meats and devoured the snacks and drinks from here- I was glad I had made the detour necessary for the stop on the way over here.
