Beef Pot roast and mashed potatoes
    Rivka P.

Ordered beef pot roast with mashed potatoes at 9 o'clock at night and it was good! The pot roast was so tender and the mashed potatoes were real, handmade. Yum! Another side was a colorful and fresh fruit cup. My waitress, Jackie, was sweet and kind. Very nice meal and very nice staff.

Their Reuben hit the spot after some drunken Roulette at Harrah's Casino across from Top Golf. Delicious! We need more vintage delicatessens in SoFlo where you can be shouting the odds of gambling amongst patrons while enjoying a nice meal at the counter. This brought back fond memories of 4am Wolfie's in Miami after the clubs.

Located in Harrah's Pompano Beach Myron's serves up New York style deli classics. The decor is retro diner style and there is a counter that you can sit at for extra nostalgic feel. The wait staff are kind and attentive. Overall simple, classic and wholesome.

The service was excellent today, but my corned beef on rye was a sandwich of thin fat slices. It was terrible and chewy. They need quality control here and should buy meats from Carnegie Deli. They're still making product even though their famous Manhattan location has been closed for years, and it's still owned by members of the Parker family. I'll be back, as today's experience was atypical.

We went on a Tuesday for lunch. We were told to sit anywhere. We selected a booth and waited to be acknowledged. And we waited.... They were not busy when we initially entered however traffic picked up for the lunchtime hour. It appeared there was only one server. When we were finally acknowledged I think our server was a manager who jumped in to help. She was great. Our food took longer than expected to come out. I had biscuits and gravy, $7.99, and my friend had an omelette with hash browns, $12.99. Her hash browns would have been too well done for me. The food was average. The prices were very reasonable for the servings. Breakfast is served all day. There is currently a lot of construction going on inside and out of the casino. Parking is convenient in the 5 story garage, valet is available also.

The Food was suspect, but the service was good. We walked in to the only restaurant opened at the casino on a Sunday night. Renka, was the bartender who waved us over to one of her booths while she served many other people at the bar area. At first we were hesitant to sit in her area, but Renka was a 5 star waitress. She was super pleasant and very knowledgeable about the food. Unfortunately, the food was well below standard. The chicken had an okay flavor, but was difficult to chew. The mashed potatoes were runny and slimy which freaked me out! The patty melt was edible, but forgettable due to a bland taste. The fries were the only good thing going. Perhaps it was an off cooking day, but Renka was a remarkable SUPERSTAR!

Desert Heat in Suburban Florida…read more Coral Springs is not exactly known for culinary danger. It's polite. It's manicured. It behaves. And then you walk into Falafel Gourmet and suddenly you're not in suburbia anymore -- you're in a little Middle Eastern oasis hiding in plain sight on State Road 7. First thing that hits you? That glass case of baklava. Not two sad trays. Not corner-store pastry vibes. A full shimmering lineup of honey-soaked, pistachio-loaded, syrup-dripping architecture. It's the kind of display that makes you whisper, "I'll pretend I'm taking it home for later." You're not. You're eating it in the car. Then the homemade lemonade. Not powdered. Not lazy. Fresh. Bright. And just when you think you've figured it out -- there's that hint of ginger. Subtle heat. Like it knows something you don't. It cuts through the richness like a blade. One sip and you realize Florida doesn't deserve this level of refreshment. Now let's talk shawarma. Lamb. Chicken. We had both. And this is where things get serious. Juicy. Properly seasoned. Wrapped tight. No soggy collapse halfway through. No bland filler. Just meat that's been treated with respect and cooked like someone's grandmother might actually yell at them if they messed it up. If your shawarma needs sauce to survive, you've already failed. This one doesn't. The service? Warm. Real. No robotic upsell script. You feel like they actually want you there. Like they care whether you enjoyed it. And then the teas. There's a section of teas that will make you want to point randomly and say, "Surprise me." You start asking questions. You start trusting recommendations. You start planning a second visit before the first one is done. This isn't fast food. It's edible hospitality. We walked in curious. We walked out planning to come back tomorrow night. That's the only review metric that matters. Will I come back? Hell yes.

The first thing we noticed, which was a bit unexpected, was the decor. The ambiance was really nice and inviting. This is the type of restaurant where someone could host a party. The service was really good too. We received water almost immediately after being seated, and our server came by shortly after. The manager stopped by throughout our visit to provide recommendations, and he was really nice. It made the experience feel more personal. For our appetizer, we ordered the Baba Ghannouj, which complemented the pita bread really well. It was our first time having it, and we did not know what to expect, but it was great. It was really flavorful, and we finished it wanting more. For our entrees, we had the Lamb Chops and the Seafood Tagine. The lamb chops were great. It was not a huge portion, but the meat was flavorful and cooked well. The presentation was also really nice. The Seafood Tagine looked great, and the sauce was incredibly flavorful. Everything about the dish worked well together, and we felt that all the flavors complemented one another. There was a good harmony between the ingredients. For dessert, we ordered the Kunafa, which was another first for us. We had never had it before, but the description really sold us on it. It was really good. This is the kind of dessert that is best shared since it is a little heavy. Toward the end of our visit, a belly dancer came out to perform, and it was really exciting. We haven't been back as we'd recently taken to going to a place across the way for felafel etc. Now that that place has also just changed names/owners, I thought I'd try this one again. Frankly, I'm not a big knish eater; although anything wrapped in dough of any ethnicity has always appealed. They have several varieties of knishes -- traditional like potato and kasha and some more "modern" varieties. I chose their hotdog knish. This is basically a long rectangular potato knish wrapped around a hotdog. Even warmed in their microwave/convection oven, the outside dough was flaky as filo can get. The hot dog was completely cooked and better with added mustard. The whole thing is pretty filling because of the mashed potatoes. And for under $4 a bargain of a "lunch".

So we went at 7pm on a Wednesday. What's playing on TV was not available, was told to use QR code, so easy peasy. So the counter staff was pleasantly, we ordered: rabbit hole salad and the patty melt to go. Maybe should be eaten there, right away. Didn't stand up to a quick ride home. BOTH meals looked sad and not worth $50, as was $20 each, gave $3 tip for to go. Probably won't return! It's probably great for vegans who don't require quality or taste, just gut it out to remain vegan. Salad had no flavor really, it was " overdressed", just kale dressed in an underwhelming sauce. Tons of it where it was soggy. Chips of fake chicken I guess, that was flavorless. Partners patty melt was just so so. I'm sad! You ever wanted to really like something, so you force it. We love going to local spots to support folks but we demand excellence. I wasn't expecting Coopers HAWK, but wanted some flavor. It's like not even as good as Whole Foods, which is pricey like this but good. Patty melt was average, and not worth $20. The onions saved it, but too expensive for us. Fries were limp, not well made. Now I will say, we do go to dives, so we didn't need Sonness (by the way Sonness is beyond fab!). So, we can do " dive vegan" but we cant do expensive average. It survives because often the beach crowds are too tipsy or high to care, or average is OK due to being snowbirds. Im sure these reviews aren't fake, so will chop this up to a bad night for the cooks! Stop by if you are vegan, committed to this lifestyle, then its good enough. We are in good shape medically, have more allegiance to our wallet than a movement. My partner makes great, fresh salads, so I can stay home for below average greens. But if you are committed and need to just get out, try it. I think a vegan frozen meal, Amy's is better. The salad wasn't horrible, just not worth the price. $20 for soggy, no flavor. Nope! I need flavor, price, freshness mix. Also they could do better with the ambiance. When you walk up, it seemed sad. It was empty, but zero personality. They need some music, it was quiet, somewhat moodless! Even dives have a little music. Rabbits have music LOL! Wish them luck! They have been around a while, so maybe they had better days! Why show stuff on TV that's not offered, pretty photos but disappointing for us. Good news, they are surrounded by great things, Italian to the right, Max to the left, pizza to the left. And Foundry at the end of other side! Partner ate half burger, trashed it. I ate 1/4 salad, trash. $50 in the garbage. I gotta laugh as we sat in our couch, we walked in and after 10 min, the energy felt off to me. We read the menu first. I said to my mate, "let's go elsewhere" after staff said, don't have this or that. My mate said, lets see. I went along. Intuition is never wrong! Trust yout gut, give it a try! Maybe tonight was just an off night! Go try it! Maybe it will be better for you! Im sure those reviews are real but maybe that real cook was off, amd we ended up with the no talent crew!
