    Homemade potato pancakes

I was in the area and stopped in to The Old World Polish Deli. I heard many good things about this Mom and Pop Polish restaurant and wanted to give them a try. Upon entering I noticed that there are two sections. On the left side of the store you have all imported Polish goods for sale like pickles, sauerkraut, pickled vegetables and candy and more. There is a deli counter upfront where you can buy homemade kielbasa and other Polish meats, sandwiches, and cold cuts. On the right side of the restaurant there are some tables for dining and you can walk up to the front and place your order. You're greeted by some friendly Polish women. It looked like a mother and her daughter's who worked there. It was a Monday and one woman was making stuffed cabbage for the Tuesday crowd in the back. I was watching her hand make each one while I waited my turn to order. The lady in the back smiled at me. They have all types of hot entrées like potato pancakes, braised beef, Polish sausage sautéed with onions, noodles mixed and sautéed with cabbage, a type of Polish gnocchi is the best way to describe it and more. They also sell five different types of pierogies and you can even get the Polish sausage a.k.a. kielbasa on a sandwich with onions. I wanted to try several different dishes.I placed my ordered for braised beef, 4 potato pancakes, 5 cheese, onion, and potato pierogies, noodles with cabbage, and Polish sausage with onions. I shared everything with my mom. A nice woman brought us the food to our table. Near the entrance they have a large jug with lemon water you can help yourself. There is also Polish Merch for sale. They sell several types of homemade breads, imported Polish drinks, beers, etc.. I must say this is the real deal. The braised beef is a must. It was so fork tender it melted in my mouth. The potato pancakes were excellent large in size, crispy on the outside and soft and pillowy on the inside. I added sour cream on top of mine. The sautéed noodles, and cabbage was delicious it had some kind of spice that added to its goodness. The Polish sausage, a.k.a. kielbasa was outstanding. It had so much flavor.Next time when I come, I'm going to try it on a sandwich. Someone next to me ordered that and it looks so good. The pierogies were good too.. I was so full I couldn't finish everything and gave my mom the leftovers. There is free parking out front and on the side. I would definitely recommend this place if you want authentic homemade Polish food made from scratch with love.

This was a true neighborhood deli that offered several options for every palate. One side is an old fashioned deli market with cold cuts and strawberry preserves with a strong emphasis on real Polish keilbasa and smoked krowlewski cheese - both were amazing and highly recommended. I wondered into the adjoining side and noticed plenty of hot meals including pierogi and stuffed cabbage but my eyes were focased on the crispy potato cakes. I ordered one for $2.50 and sat at a small table to enjoy my treat with a cup of complimentary water mixed with fresh lemons.

This little market has home made pierogis, stews, stuffed cabbage and more! Their deli counter has a wide selection of kielbasa and deli meats. (I recommend the cherry smoked kielbasa!). They also have a prepared food counter and tables to enjoy on the spot. The market has a good selection of Polish beer in cans and bottles, mineral water, wines, cans and jars ranging from mustards to red cabbage, even herring, refrigerated and canned, jams, chocolates, and more! They also have fresh European bread. The staff is quick to offer help, and samples from the deli if you're overwhelmed by the selection! Our Christmas Eve dinner was assembled almost entirely from this market this year.

We haven't been here in a loooong time. However, I met the somewhat new owner, Bianca, at the pompano Dog Park, and my husband is Polish, so we stopped in today for lunch! Greeted by a very nice lady (Bianca wasn't there), and we sat down at a lovely table. Wow, what a nice job Bianca did on the interior! Lighter, brighter, tables, impact windows, and cute little touches. Les got a plate with a few different items, and he said it was all delicious. I got the five assorted perogies, delish! A great value for yummy all homemade food. Also, there is a deli conter, Les got some kielbasa to take home, and we had some leftovers as well. The shop also has many Polish specialties to purchase, mustards, beer, chocolates, etc. We'll be back, thank you!!!

The best Polish deli in the area! You would think this is a Speak Easy for the best Polish food, it's so good!!! I drove right past the place even with the gps. Believe me, once inside you will be amazed at the food they offer. Their potato pancakes were heavenly. Fresh made and still warm, I ate them plain. Their Rosas donuts are amazing, It's worth the drive just for those donuts. Are they open now? I also bought some potato salad and Polish hot dogs. I served the hot dogs to co-workers and they loved them. The Belinki have a nice snap to them. Their dark rye bread was fresh and flavorful. Itoasted it for breakfast with rosas jam. They sell hot food to go and they have a few tables in the front of the store. Stuffed cabbage is one that I plan to try next time I'm in the area. The staff were friendly and helpful. They made great suggestions. I can't wait to visit again.

I think it was called Polish casserole. Tastes great.

Found another natural vegetarian dish that tastes great. Worth tasting it. They seem to keep it interesting with new menu items.

Their old location was bomb and this one is a dud…read more In my humble opinion, the pompano store rocked. 80% of their items were fair priced and 20% were great bargains! They always encouraged me to come back, and I did. Quality is OK day-of. Most of it needs to be eaten quickly. For instance their watermelon or mangoes wont be good after a week. That's fine but $5.99/small melon or $1/mango are almost as bad as publix. Not quite but almost. Where's the deals? If its expensive, Where's the high quality? I respect their game and wish them luck but sadly its a closed chapter for me. Its not that im not going to return out of spite, but I wont be returning simply because there's no point to. Theres no deals or anything amazing anymore. Best of luck

They used to have beautiful fresh fruits and vegetables, a nice freezer section. I even bought a tomato tree here once. I don't come often since it's not close, but every once in a while when I'm going to Costco, I'll just drive down a little bit further and stop in and pick up some things. I was so disappointed today. They've gotten rid of 99% of freezer section and they have the old cases for sale, so that's the end of that. Today they had long tables of garbage thrown on top and I'm not quite sure what it was, but people were digging through like it was some flea market garage sale. The entire store has changed and in my opinion not for the better. I was able to pick up a couple of avocados at 3 for a $1, a bag of potatoes so I can make mashed potatoes for Thanksgiving, some tomatoes, and that's about it. I did notice that they had a table full of hot pickle tomatoes that expired 9/20/2025 so that did it for me. I don't understand why you would put out food no matter what price it is, after the expiration date. The other thing that bothered me was the 4% fee for credit card. I know as a fact, if you have the right credit card processing you pay 1.9%. They also had a tip jar at the check out...for what... so the salaried employee can slide your purchases across a scanner and you can put the items in the bags you bring. No one packs your bags here and they don't even have plastic or paper bags. With all the fees, the prices aren't any less than TJs or Aldi. I know now, I don't ever have to drive down here again.

At times, I would walk throughout the store and discover interesting items to enhance meals at home, such as making an oven fried fish filet sandwich with artisan bread, remoulade sauce, and salad greens. At other times, I would grab bottles of water priced at $0.79 or a small bottle of milk to make oatmeal. Huge store, fabulous variety of fresh fruit on the salad bar and of course I love the purple cabbage, cubed celery chunks, snow peas, etc.... They even sometimes have the heated enchiladas - tofu scramble spicy with veggies - and half off occasionally - always a TREAT! The bathrooms being renovated was a MESS - one UNISEX bathroom for Men & Woman - hummmm. Poor decisions that sometimes need the KINKS worked out ... it is over now though. Whole Foods was always for THE COMMUNITY - but that has changed over time with different ownership & management brings NEW IDEAS and ways to SAVE MONEY. This is a VERY LARGE store where you can move around with your shopping cart with ease - SUCH A PLEASURE. I did purchase Chef Christy's I-MLEAN LLC Raw Vegan Bakery Products here as well when they were keeping them in the refrigerated area. Why they changed that I do not know. One day I finally brought it to Mark's Attn (the manager) that all product seemed to disappear off the shelves - see the pictures uploaded, the only product left was CINNAMAN ROLLS one day, still unrefrigerated. I explained what I witnessed that week and told him they need to be refrigerated. He is the one who told me 100 days FROZEN and 45 days REFRIGERATED - I realized he told me the wrong thing - I could not read the TINY PRINT without my glasses. I would eat lunch or dinner there often - I had no kitchen nor refrigerator, etc... and I needed to eat healthy for my Diabetes. They were very kind here - Miguel was the bakery manager at the time. He told me they had problems with the VENDOR who delivered Chef Christy's I-MLEAN LLC products. Mark could not tell me who that was. I did inform them of the turn of events in Ft Lauderdale with papers I had created of the Timeline of Events. I unfortunately had a FOREIGN OBJECT in one of her items - in my mouth while eating my ORANGE TWIST - most frightening. I made sure they were aware of that.
