Ever since that last meal at CITIR in East Boca, I've been craving a casual Turkish spot closer to home. Then I remembered Galata Kabab & Pide--a place we visited maybe five years ago. Quiet then, and still quiet now. Practically hidden in a sleepy plaza with only one neighbor: a medical call center. Blink and you'll miss it. Inside, it's serene--almost eerily so. The kind of silence you don't expect from a restaurant. But then you notice the music. Not pop or Turkish radio, but soft, lullaby-like instrumentals playing gently in the background. It's almost hypnotic, the kind of soundtrack that makes you exhale and slow down. You could probably fall asleep in your chair if the food weren't so good. Jay, the owner, is originally from Istanbul. He's been running Galata for eight years now. The space used to be a pizza joint, but he's turned it into a minimalist Turkish kitchen that focuses on what matters: kebabs, lahmacun, and pides. The menu isn't huge, but every item feels considered. Jay butchers and grinds the lamb for the kofte himself. The chicken? Marinated for 30 hours. Everything is cooked fresh, seasoned just right, and served without pretense. It's the kind of place where the food does all the talking. There's also a little Turkish grocery area in the back--cheeses, yogurts, pantry goods, cookies. Nothing flashy, just honest imports for people who miss home or are curious enough to explore it. It's not a scene. It's not loud. It's not trying to be anything it's not. It's just good food, soft music, and a guy named Jay quietly doing it right.

Galata is a hidden gem! I ordered a chicken wrap and a chicken pide. The flavors in this wrap were on point - the chicken is char-grilled and wrapped up with grilled onions and tomatoes. They really seasoned everything in this wrap well. They have crushed red pepper and oregano on each table to add extra flavor. The chicken pide was also delicious! The chicken was a spicy chicken sausage. It reminded me of an Italian sausage or chorizo but not as greasy. The crust was thin, light and had a perfect crunch around the edges. The pide was topped with melted mozzarella and spicy chicken. It was enough to share and too much to eat by myself so I took my leftovers to go. It warmed up nicely and was just as good the next day. The restaurant is run by only a few people but they all do their jobs well. They are friendly and courteous. I asked several questions and they were happy to answer all of them. They also take pride in what they serve - bringing drinks out on a special serving platter and each chef brings out the dish they cook directly to the table. I also ordered a Turkish coffee which was a strong cup of coffee served in the cutest little cup. I did feel that the chicken wrap was a little pricey at $15.99 but overall I felt great after eating a healthy, flavorful meal.

I found this amazing gem Monday night as I was planning dinner for my family. It was a rainy day and this restaurant was on my radar. Parking was easy and plentiful outside. I was greeted immediately upon entering and placed my order. I looked at the items in the small grocery market section while I waited for my order to be prepared. Everything was cooked perfectly and arrived quickly. The owner packaged everything up and was incredibly sweet ensuring I had everything I needed. He also spoke about his store and I could feel the pride he has over the food he serves. What a gift it was to meet him. The food: was AMAZING!!! Fresh, seasoned perfectly, delicious!!! My kids ate more than they ever do, and they asked to go back! That's a win in my book! I ordered two chicken kabob plates that came with rice, grilled veggies, and salad, along with a chicken salad. Everything was delicious and fresh. I brought home some cookies and chocolates that we all enjoyed also from the market. I highly recommend visiting if you are in the area.

The best Turkish Pide in Miami. All made from scratch, the dough is light and doesn't bloat you, if you're gluten sensitive. The taste is amazing on all Pides! Service is great! I love coming here with my kids to watch a soccer game as well!

My bro and I went here Wednesday evening. It was pretty empty, just us, then a solo diner showed up later. The restaurant is extremely clean and has a family owned vibe. I feel they do most business on Uber Eats and Doordash. The service was EXCELLENT, the food was BEYOND AMAZING. The salad that was included, was one of the BEST I've had in my life, so fresh, like the vegetables were picked today on site. The rice, there's something SPECIAL about the rice. Everything was so DELICIOUS and I felt GREAT after consuming. This place will now be included in my rotation. I shall return. Oh and there's a Turkish Grocery on site. Try the Figs.

We actually stopped in Saturday, I had unplugged for the weekend to spend quality time with my wife, but I knew I had to review this establishment. We started off with a tea, it was the best quality and was served traditionally. I would recommend it! The Mixed Meat Platter was exactly what I wanted it to be...the salad completely complimented the plate and was in no way an after thought. The highest quality of rice was used and the meats were flavorful and juicy. The Mozzarella and Egg Pide, this was actually the first time I have had this dish, was awesome. No additives needed! The crust was perfectly crisp and not overly dense. The combination of eggs and mozzarella as a filling took me back to my Navy days and a breakfast we had in Singapore. It was not over done, simple yet elegant and well put together. The deserts were great and the coffee was an excellent pairing to help cut the sweetness. If you visit, order them both. While they look similar, they are unique of each other! The staff was friendly and welcoming, the atmosphere was rustic and homey, and we did do a little shopping in their "store"...we will return soon and try different things and I will update when we do.

Holy handful, such good food. Starting backwards, that's the best baklava I've ever had. I've tried it maybe 10x In my life and previously I'd describe it as edible. I've never liked it because in my opinion it's dry, a little sweet like honey but not a savory kind of sweet, just an annoying kind of phyllo pastry with honey and nuts. This is something I'd come back for though. It's hard to explain but please get it if you come here. It's the best dessert I've had in a year minimum. I found this gem from Yelp, which rarely disappoints and it sure didn't this time. The main part of the order I picked up was a "mozzarella pide" (with mushrooms). They've mastered moderation. It wasn't too bready or cheesy, or had too little or too much mushrooms. It literally was the perfect balance of everything. I grabbed some of their assorted treats and from what I've tried so far they rock. I'm not that experienced in Turkish dark chocolate but it's Alejandro approved! I'll definitely be back.

Galata is a great place to stop by if you are craving for some halal pizza or Mediterranean. We tried their Chicken Pide and it was just as delicious as it looks in photos. You can call it pizza small bites and it's decent size for party of two. Our next item to order was a mixed grill which came with kabob and chicken and some rice and salad. It was well cooked but could be better in terms of quantity. Overall a great place nice and super clean. The staff and manager were amazing and very welcoming which is why I give this place a five star. It would be great if they can add more items like halal steak and burger to their menu which would definitely draw more folks to this place

Galata Kebab & Pide House This restaurant has increased the Florida standards for Turkish cuisine in a very good way. This place is the real deal for kebabs and pides. Reminded me of my multiple visits to Istanbul. Off the grill items are a must try as well pides. They also have salads and pizzas. Things we ordered: Mixed grill- This consisted of flat round koftas and juicy/tender chicken pieces with rice and fresh salad. Chicken Pide- The ingredients were chicken, mozzarella and that awesome bread it was part of. Oh my, I'm already dreaming of getting this again. Right out of the oven, they do a fantastic job in making this. Service- It's a subtle laid back service with you ordering the food at the counter or at the table if you like. The owner is calm and collected with a warm personality. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. And this restaurant makes me want to go back to Istanbul for the fourth time in the near future. Side Note- The name: Galata is a cool tower that overlooks the beautiful city of Istanbul.

This is one of the best Turkish restaurants I've been to. As you know I love mostly family owned businesses over traditional restaurant chains as I believe the heart and soul is poured into every plate. This is what I experienced yesterday. Parking is not that easy but worth it. We didn't have to wait to be seated, arrived around 12:30 pm. We ordered the mixed grilled platter and the Pastirami pide. Platter: great size, salad comes with authentic dressing and rice chicken and lamb meatballs. Tasty, cooked well, the only thing I didn't like was the grilled tomato there but because I don't usually eat those. Order this. Pastirami pide: amazing. You can clearly tell there was heart out into the flour of this plate. Cooked to perfection and look even better. Tasty, hot, well oven baked. Way to go Prices are good. Service was fast we didn't have to wait. It's more of a casual look than elegant so to chill its good by I would recommend for a date. I went with some coworkers and it was perfect.

we loved it.. first time here.. looked like a small hotel , but the food is really good.. Kebabs were so good.. loved it so much that we came back again.. meat lovers will surely like it.. For veggie they had less though.. and thats why the 4 stars.. I wish they had more options for veggies .. Pide - looked small in the pic, but as u can see my pics, they are BIG :) we also had the turkish tea and tasted good.. Overall a good place and we liked it so much...

The service was really good too. We received water almost immediately after being seated, and our server came by shortly after. The manager stopped by throughout our visit to provide recommendations, and he was really nice. It made the experience feel more personal. For our appetizer, we ordered the Baba Ghannouj, which complemented the pita bread really well. It was our first time having it, and we did not know what to expect, but it was great. It was really flavorful, and we finished it wanting more. For our entrees, we had the Lamb Chops and the Seafood Tagine. The lamb chops were great. It was not a huge portion, but the meat was flavorful and cooked well. The presentation was also really nice. The Seafood Tagine looked great, and the sauce was incredibly flavorful. Everything about the dish worked well together, and we felt that all the flavors complemented one another. There was a good harmony between the ingredients. For dessert, we ordered the Kunafa, which was another first for us. We had never had it before, but the description really sold us on it. It was really good. This is the kind of dessert that is best shared since it is a little heavy. Toward the end of our visit, a belly dancer came out to perform, and it was really exciting. Desert Heat in Suburban Florida…read more Coral Springs is not exactly known for culinary danger. It's polite. It's manicured. It behaves. And then you walk into Falafel Gourmet and suddenly you're not in suburbia anymore -- you're in a little Middle Eastern oasis hiding in plain sight on State Road 7. First thing that hits you? That glass case of baklava. Not two sad trays. Not corner-store pastry vibes. A full shimmering lineup of honey-soaked, pistachio-loaded, syrup-dripping architecture.
