Where to start, the food was nothing special. The salad bar is the same that you can get at any Shoney's or Golden Corral. The hot bar had a few different choices that were good to try. Desserts were limited to cakes or pies. My real negative here would be the people. No, not the wonderful waitress that was friendly and seemed to enjoy her job, but the masses of white styrofoam wielding, pushy, and rude buffet take-outers. I understand the concept for a business to want to move product but to ignore the welcoming atmosphere for the customer that is taking the time to sit down, enjoy food and conversation, and not to mention are the ones that provide tips to its employees is a complete downgrade of service and hospitality. I don't choose to go to a restaurant where I need protective gear just to get a plate of food. They might as well add a drive-thru window instead of the back seating or gift shop that no one even bothers to occupy. If your looking for cheap take-out then you can't beat it. If you want good food and good atmosphere then choose somewhere else if it's around the time for the after work crowd. read more

Excellent buffet and dessert bar Service was excellent and what great selection of good food

We had the buffet, lots to choose from but some things were better than others. The hostess had no idea what she was doing and wasn't very happy to help us. The waitress, howecer, was so sweet! She refilled drinks and cleared our dirty plates quickly and often! The pies were very good! read more

Had dinner here today with my family celebrating a birthday. We had a group of 15 but that was no problem! They quickly found us a table even though they were very busy. We had the buffet and there was plenty to choose from and the waitress was very friendly and even did a great job singing happy birthday to my wife! We will be back again! read more

I absolutely love this restaurant. It has a very nice feel to it. Very clean...even the rest rooms. A bit pricey for the buffet, but I felt it was well worth it. Food was at the correct temperature, wait staff was awesome and the dessert was amazing. Well worth a visit! If you fill out the card they give you, they send you a thank you post card. There is a gift shop attached to, which is an extra added bonus. Would not pass up the chance to go back to this establishment! read more

I am sorry but this place is a no go. Too pricy and the food is not any good. I went with my mom and son and not one of us had any thing good from the buffet. The chicken was cold and they did not keep up on the refilling of the food. Mashed potatoes were cold the stuffing tasted like Stove Top. The service was good the place is very nice but they need new management or somebody who knows how to cook. The waitress gave us money off because it was so bad but the bill was still too high. The Olde Dutch is ok. Their buffet is rather small for the size of the restaurant, although the food is good and the servers are friendly. They offer banquet rooms as well. Plus there are other attractions right close such as mini golf and an antique mall and of course Walmart. read more

We are two Southern transplants currently living in NJ. Suffice it to say, we miss Southern cooking. While passing through Ohio on a trip, we decided to stop at The Olde Dutch Restaurant for dinner. We are so glad we did! The food was quite possibly the closest thing we have found to home-cooked, Southern style food since we moved. The restaurant was clean and the food at the buffet was constantly being tended to by the staff. The dinner price was also very reasonable, especially considering what we are used to in NJ now. If we ever have need to travel through the area again, we will most definitely return to the Olde Dutch Restaurant! read more

I would not go here on a holiday. We had a group of 10 for Easter dinner. They told us they did not take reservations and could not tell us a good time to come but they would take our name and a time. When we got there they had no record of my call and said we'd have to wait at least an hour. You have to stand right by where they take names to hear your call. On Easter you can order buffet only; &16.00. All canned vegetables; not worth the wait. read more

This Amish style buffet was clean, well stocked and the food was good. If you like comfort food this is the best Amish style restaurant in central Ohio. The buffet includes a great dessert area with 6 or so different pies and 10 ice cream flavors. If you get there before 4:30 the buffet is $4 less and truly a 5 star meal. read more

First of all the customer service wasn't that good. Our waitress was very energetic, first she talked when asking If me and a friend are twins(we look nothing allike) then, she ran around the room screaming about how her shoes didn't fit and laughing and throwing her head around. She asked us if we wanted refills like three times within 15 minutes then we didn't see the rest of the time. Some of the waiters where very rude, they gave us dirty looks. One waiter named Tanner was nice but that's it. Next, the seating was very awkward it looked like we were at an after funeral party. The food was okay I guess. Not worth 15 dollars per person for a buffet. I did leave full so I guess that's good. I did not see a male restroom, therefore I saw an old man in the women's room( no shade) he probably just needed to take a shit. Anyway, the had goats and deer outside which was cool. Expect the mean goat that kept trying to ram its horn up the others buttholes. Also I put a quarter in the animal feed machine and it literally actually gave me a single piece of corn. read more

EXCELLENT SERVICE! The food was decent, plenty of variety. Even as a vegetarian I found enough to eat on the buffet! But the service made it great. EVERY young lady that works there was over the top nice from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. HORRIBLE! Just as the review stated below--we were thinking this would be like Der Dutchman--homemade/old style/amish cooking---boy, were we wrong! It was absolutely disgusting--from start to finish! I recently visited this restaurant with my family.. I really enjoyed the "homey" environment and found a great selection of food on the bufffet. The homemade chicken and noodles are really good. My husband and I visited your restaurant on father's day, June l6. The food was excellent, the service was slow do to the fact that it was a busy day. The waitress was very sweet. We ordered a whole Dutch Apple Pie to take home, when we got home and opened it, it was cut in small pieces which would normally go on the buffet that way. Was very disappointed! If there wasn't any other ones left we should have been told so. If we would have purchased that for company it would not have been a good thing. Pie was not as good as Der Dutchman. read more

My girlfriend and I decided to stop here for lunch around 12:30 on a Sunday. In the past I once bought a slice of pie to go but never ate here. I recently read some mixed reviews on here about the place and I noted several bad reviews about the buffet. Because of those reviews I was going to get an entree until I saw the buffet. It looked good - damn good! So we both decided on the buffet. Let me tell all of you - do not listen to any negative review. I am a foodie and needles to say I appreciate good food. The buffet at the Olde Dutch was the best meal we had in the area (and that includes the Millstone & The Lodge). There was a very nice selection and every food item was well stocked and severed at the right temperature. The broasted chicken was some of the best chicken I've ever had. It was juicy and the skin was amazing. Other standouts includes: the creamy mashed potatoes & gravy, turkey, the mini meatloaf meatballs, the fantastic rolls, and more. Then there's the desert. There's an ice cream bar which we didn't partake. The real prize was all the delicious pies. We tried four different kinds (three fruit, one creme). The blueberry pie came out warm and was just fantastic. I was so stuffed I didn't eat anything till past 7 that night. The price was $15 per person (some people said it was a couple dollars cheaper during the week). It was more than worth the price. We will definitely be back!! read more
