This was my first time here and I loved it. Casual, buffet style place with very good food. This is not your average buffet place. Several meat choices, including ribs that fell off the bone. Went for small lunch. Had soup and sandwich. The waitress let me substitute the soup for their delicious chicken and noodles. Sandwich was good. Everybody was very friendly and quiet atmosphere. Good plentiful food, most people opt for the buffet with their good selection: beef, pork, chicken and fish choices. Side dishes are good too. Large and adequate salad bar. They have another section for desserts, mostly pies, included in the price = value. The service is always friendly. We have gone during the week and been able to walk right up to our table. Our last visit was a Saturday and there was a brief 15 minute wait. My only cons are, when they're busy the dessert table looks like a war zone: they didn't pre-cut the pies (mostly crust with little fruit/filling) and the patrons had a hard time serving themselves; and $2.29 for a large glass of ice with a little soft drink seems a little excessive, even if it is all-you-can drink. read more

No buffet which is fine. We decided to have the family style which is fine. Family style is all you can eat but don't plan on it because you will have to wait about 25 minutes to get any additional food. Our server was MIA most of the time. We had to ask a young lady cleaning the tables to find her. We waited so long we said just give us our bill and pie which is included with the meal but we were told no because you get nothing to go. I could have ordered a regular meal and had more food for less. Won't be back....EVER!! read more

Tuesday afternoon in September 2014, young couple ages 21-24 This was a great restaurant. We arrived at 3:48 pm expecting to pay dinner buffet prices, but were surprised to find out that lunch prices were good until 4:00pm. It is a bit pricey for us (lunch $9.99, dinner $13.99) but comparable to other Hocking Hills area restaurants. I really appreciated the atmosphere, main buffet, and massive dessert buffet. Nothing was overly spectacular, but all of the food was good. I was surprised by the selection of pies and ice cream. The dessert bar was a large as the dinner bar. We will definitely be eating here again on our next trip to Hocking Hills. read more

Ok, we knew we weren't going to have as many restaurant choices in Logan as we do in our home in Columbus. We wondered, however, if this restaurant might be something along the lines of Der Dutchman in Plain City. Wrong! The 'buffet' basically consisted of fried chicken, green beans, green bean casserole, stringy beef, box mash taters, and a very small salad bar. This was $11.99! I chose the Rueben platter, and I was amazed how quickly it was brought out! Unfortunately, this showed in the pale uncooked fries. I was also unimpressed with the beef - it was tasteless and quite fatty. I really would not recommend this place to anyone. I wish we'd just grabbed some hamburgers from the Wendy's down the road. read more

Where do I even begin with all the things that went wrong with our Easter Dinner. To start with I do not live in Logan so it is an hour drive to get there and an hour drive to get back. I usually enjoy going to this restaurant five or six times a year. But after the events yesterday it will be a good while before I go back. First off, I know they were busy. But when you have to continuously ask your waitress for drinks you are never off to the good start. Especially when you have watched her leaning against the wall going into the kitchen doing nothing and talking with her co-workers. Second , leaving plates on our table for the majority of the meal. Third, back to the drinks, every waitress around us asked their table if they would like something to drink to go, our waitress never even bothered checking back at our table. I was sat with a group of eight, and it was two separate checks one with three and the other with five and a 15% gratuity was automatically added to the check. I prefer to leave my own tip. When we approached the cashier to pay she started to give the other person we sat with a hassle about removing it from the bill because she wanted to leave a cash tip and not put it on the credit card. So the manager was called. I wish I would have gotten her name but I did not. She was wearing a red blouse and had blonde hair. So I proceeded to her register where we asked to have the gratuity removed. So the manager then proceeded to throw a pen and the receipt at me to sign. I am sorry but I expect better manners from a manager. Because of her attitude I only left a small tip. Had they acted with better class the waitress would have received a $20 tip total from both parties that sat at the table. I'm sorry but I am not going to reward horrible service both from a waitress and from a manager. It was about 3:15 pm when we were leaving The last time I checked a tip was not something automatic, especially for a buffet. If she had cleared the table in a prompt manner, and kept our glasses full I would have tipped more than I did, but do not expect a $8 tip when your only duty is to do the two things listed above. read more

My family ate here about 2 months ago & loved it. Their rolls were so good. We went back last night & were very disappointed. The waitress said they were out of & wouldn't have rolls for at least one hour. I asked if we would receive a discount on our bill since 3 of our meals were to include rolls. She said yes. When we received our almost $70 bill there was no discount. I just deducted it from her tip. My husband ordered cabbage rolls & said the sauce was Campbell's tomato soup & they were horrible. The only good thing I can say about our second experience is that the broasted chicken was delicious. Next time we are planning to try Bush's (in Logan also) because from my understanding they also serve broasted chicken. read more

Simply put, it's good. Not great. Not spectacular. Just plain ol' good. No one in our party could really find any fault with the food or drinks. There are some items, of course, that are better than others (the chicken dishes were our personal favorites). The price is pretty decent (around $8-$10 per entree) and the wait staff is friendly. Some people may find it to be better than I did which could be, in part, to the fact that I grew up on great homestyle food and have a pretty high standard for my chicken livers. Nevertheless, if you're in the area and looking for some good, country style food, it's definitely worth a stop. read more

Was hesitant when seeing an Amish themed restaurant away from Amish country. We live in the middle of Amish country so I have been to plenty good and not so good ones. This place gets a thumbs up from me. Buffet was enormous. I was so happy when my husband finally agreed to stop here during our 2nd trip to Hocking Hills. The buffet food was really food. The dessert table had so many pie options. I was in our paradise (get the apple pie by the way. It's worth breaking your diet for). Our waitress was great. Stayed on top of refills and removing dirty dishes. Their gift shop was wonderful too. Are people here really so ignorant that when they see a restaurant sign with a HORSE and BUGGY out in the Ohio COUNTRYSIDE called "OLDE DUTCH" they assume it will be food from the NETHERLANDS? haha really I scoff at you. Olde dutch means AMISH, Mennonite, what have you! If you go to the bulk food store next store you can see an actual Amish girl at the counter. Of course this is just good old country cooking. If you thought otherwise well then, of course, you were FOOLISHLY mistaken. I think of this place as a mix between an Old Country Buffet and a Cracker Barrel. If you like either of those places, you will probably like this. Except, since the Olde Dutch is not a chain you can be assured the food is fresh home cooking every time. I am a vegetarian so there wasn't much to choose from but what I did have from their veggies was great as was their salad bar. My mom assured me their meat dishes were really good. And after a long day hiking in the hocking hills being able to load up at a buffet is great! read more

This is our first time at this restaurant and i was impressed. They have a wide variety of food including some i havent seen at other eateries. Lima beans, fried green tomatoes, brussel sprouts and liver just to name a few. We had the all you can eat buffet for $10.59, lunch price. I was most impressed by their dessert bar. Fresh homemade pies, cakes, brownies and Wells Blue Bunny ice cream. Very tasty. The restaurant as a whole was very clean as were the restrooms. The staff were helpful and friendly. When you are seated you are given a survey to fill out which, to me, is impressive....shows they care about how their customers feel. They also have a large gift store with all sorts of goodies to buy....some made by local artists. We will definitely be back and i highly recommend this restaurant. read more

This was pretty good homestyle cooking. For those of us who enjoy chicken livers, these are prepared nicely and were a highlight! The fried foods were all good. I was a bit disappointed with the chicken and noodles. The ladies of my southern Ohio church made better and in nearly as large quantity as needed for this restaurant. While the desserts that came with the buffet lacked in eye appeal, they made up for it in taste. They were very flavorful, and worth the calories. All-in-all, this is a place we will go again when we are at our Hideaway Hills cottage. read more

Wife and I went there last Saturday evening (~7:30). Has been a few years since last visit. Food was decent but not as good as I remember in the past. Service was good. While paying the bill (at the gift store counter),the Cook comes storming out from kitchen to inform staff in a loud voice that "My kitchen is closed. IF YOU SEAT ANYONE ELSE, YOU CAN COOK FOR THEM." Then storms back down the hallway to the kitchen, passing by my wife (coming out of the bathroom). She comes out and asked me who that was. Says he slammed open the kitchen door and was dropping F-Bombs the whole way thru. Little disappointed that management would put up with a big mouth hothead like that. We where traveling home from a race and stopped on a Sunday night. Nice place, you have to walk through the gift shop to get to resturant. We both had the buffet, while selection was not huge it was sufficient. Everything appeared to be home made and tasted good. The chicken was good, I had a couple of different kinds of potatoes too.
