My wife and I were on vacation in Lenox looking for a nice lunch spot when we came upon Olde Heritage Tavern. This place was bustling with tourists and locals eating on a deck shaded by umbrellas. This has an old fashion pub charm with an attentive wait staff. Their lunch special for Thursday's is freshly roasted Turkey Reuben with sweet potato fries which I highly recommend. The kitchen also makes a Corn Beef Rueben. My wife ordered the Bbq pulled pork sandwich which was equally as tasty. Perfect place for a cold Stella Artois and hot sandwich. Perfect inside lounge/horseshoe bar w ample seating, pool table & TVs to watch the game or just sit back w friends. Variety of chicken wings and the Quesadilla Mexican style w grilled chicken, cheddar, grilled peppers & onions, black beans & side of guacamole & sour cream was good, solid bar food w healthier options & vegetarian things too. Sorry to write such a poor review- I've visited twice in the last month. The first time we never received our appetizers and waited for ever for our drinks. Our waitress said there was a problem with the printer. We also asked for water several times which we never received. Today we arrived at 1:45 order drink and lunch 20 minutes later he drinks arrived. At 2:45 we asked if our food was on its way. The waitress who happened to be the same one said there was a problem with the kitchen printer. Five minutes later I received a raw burger and ice cold fries, my daughters grilled cheese and fries were also cold. The waitress just sort of shrugged and said "oh". A young man checked on us and was super apologetic. He brought us a new order of fries that were warm but barely cook. He at least made a solid effort which I appreciated. As I was finishing my margarita I realized there was no chance In Hell that it contained alcohol. The other adult at the table tasted it and agreed. I only drank it because again we were denied water after requesting it. We could only laugh at this point. The waitress dropped our check on the table and asked if I wanted a box for my uneaten meal. The bill was 48 and change. The waitress brought us $47 dollars in change and said she didn't have change and still owed us $3. Hopefully management can fix the kitchen printer and deep fryer. I always tip well and am usually a very understanding patron having been a waitress for years but feeling like I was shorted on my change didn't settle well with me. read more

We drove from Logan to Lenox and arrived about 8 PM. Was happy to see the Tavern served food till 9 PM. This was our introduction to Lenox and it didn't disappoint! Krista, our waitress, was so friendly! John, the owner, also came over before we left to chat. He has owned the Tavern for 17 years and that says a lot. This is definitely a place where the locals gather and that always adds to the friendliness. We felt right at home. I had the clam chowder, which was excellent! (So good that we returned the next night so I could order it again) Also had a sandwich wrap that was good. This is the perfect place to unwind and enjoy good food and drinks along with the local atmosphere. We're booked to return to Lenox again next year and the Tavern will be our first stop again after checking into the Cornell Inn. read more

Such a disappointment. We just wanted to grab a bite before concert and our hotel sent us here. Seemed like a great spot. Sat outside. Waitress was very friendly and attentive -- 2 stars for that. Food was pretty bad. Fish "tacos" were not like any I have ever had. Fish tasted old. Very strong fishy taste. We live near the ocean and know fresh fish. Everything was covered in gloppy sauce. Stopped in Lenox to get lunch at a different place, but that restaurant was bursting at the seams with people waiting. So my hungry family zipped on over the tavern for a tasty lunch with no wait. My husband's burger was cooked perfectly. Not many places actually serve a medium burger when he orders a medium burger. It came with tasty curly fries. I had a chicken tender wrap. Not my first choice, but they we're out of fish for the fish tacos. The wrap was really good. I think they may make their own chicken tenders. They aren't the same super breaded and fried tenders most places have. The staff as also very friendly, attentive to guests, and courteous to each other. Our drinks were good, the food was fine but the fact that we had to wait for our waitress for more than 45 minutes to settle the bill really put us off. I even went & talked to the bartender for help to no avail. We had in our group a few elderly ladies and that made the wait even more painful. Unpretentious dining in Lenox. Sitting at the tremendous communal outdoor table watching passerby's while sipping a cold draft was somehow so right. The table itself was a thing of beauty, rough hewn edges and a smooth massive top and the tree trunk itself as the pedestal. Everyone at the table in good spirits on a fine early summer day. Had a quick meal there after a show at Tanglewood. The place looks, sounds and acts like a decent pub, but the food is fantastic and more upscale than your typical pub grub. The fiance had a garden burger which while standard stuff (pretty difficult to alter/screw up one of these) also came with some of the best fries I've had in recent memory. I had a small pizza with cheese and hot sauce (forgot the actual name of the dish) which was perfectly sized, just the right amount of crisp, and really rather tasty. I also noticed that they had one or two more upscale specials, for those with a more discerning palate. The wait staff were friendly and pleasant although we did have to wait a little longer than average simply due to the crowded atmosphere (we were there at about 9:30 PM on a Saturday.) The pub itself is clean, with a decent amount of tables, some loud music playing and some big flat screens on the walls. Didn't have a sports bar feel, but it would be a good place to chill out and watch a game, and have a few beers. All in all, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place for a casual lunch or dinner. Desperately Seeking ESPN. Spending a glorious weekend in the Lenox area sampling the culture, fine dining and autumnal glory of the Berkshires region- the boy & I hadn't thought ahead to where we might be able to post up to catch his beloved Gators playing on Saturday afternoon. Go Go Yelp App. Olde Heritage was one of the only things that popped up for sports bars in the area and it suited our needs just fine. With a couple of televisions scattered throughout the dining and bar area broadcasting the games of the day- we easily grabbed a seat and settled in for a couple hours. With only college football and cocktails on our to-do list, I can't speak to Olde Heritage's grub. I can say that if you're in the market for cheap cocktails and a friendly atmosphere, this place has you covered. The drinks list looked a bit like what my friends and I might have come up with after a long night out in college. "Uhhh what do we have....A Diet Fresca? Grape vodka? A fruit rollup? Ok cool!" But when they're charging next to nothing for heavy pours (between $4.50-$8 for pretty much any drink you'd like) the prices can't be beat. Our waiter was friendly and quick with the next round- never giving us eye rolls when we got rowdy cheering for a good play. He even jumped in and chatted about Florida sports for awhile. Just fantastic!! I was only there once and it was a great find. No nonsense food prepared perfectly. I had the salmon club wrap and sweet potato fries served fresh and hot. Oddly enough the cole slaw was the thing that caught my attention. How rare is that? I even paid for a second helping. The drinks were cheap and very inventive. I came here last night before a show at Tanglewood. It had good reviews and seemed like a decently priced place considering the area. Upon entering, I saw a sign right at the door letting patrons know to seat themselves. However, when I tried to sit at one of two open tables, a waitress rushed over and told me I had to put in my name. A party that entered after us was also confused by this whole situation and since the staff was not really attentive, they almost got seated before us. In fact, they would have been seated first if we didn't speak up. I tried to put that aside since it was busy. We were sat at a table meant for 2 people that had a third chair stuffed under the table where our legs should have gone. After ten minutes, we moved the extra chair ourselves. Our waitress had no idea what cider was when I asked if they had "cider, like woodchuck or something like that," said she'd ask what the bar had, but never did (I figured it out). Forgot my water as well. We ordered burgers which thankfully came out quickly. They weren't very good. My boyfriend's fries were gross. Greasy and soggy and inedible. He spoke up to the waitress, who then said "...ok." Huh? It got to the point where I couldn't wait to leave. I was also roped in by a review that mentioned the large beer selection...what a joke. They offer the most cheap domestic beers I've ever seen at a bar, I guess. But nothing more aside from 2 or 3 slightly more interesting beers on tap. This place is cheap but you get what you pay for. Unless you're coming in when it's very slow to sit at the bar for drinks, don't even bother. I was so disappointed and we both left hungry. read more

Poor service. Miscommunication over my order. Server (Abby/Abbie sp?) insisted she knew what I ordered when the wrong order came and was, shockingly, confrontational and defensive about it. She exhibited unprofessionalism to the core. Additionally, there was some argument happening between our server and other servers that made them tense and affected their (poor) service. Great example I'll use at my next team meeting for why it's essential to address conflict off the public floor. Hopefully other restaurants in Lenox will prove less sour. read more

1 star is for location only. Everything about this place was horrible. We went there because it was literally the only place open at 3:15pm and we were starving. I don't even know where to start. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. We walk up to the place and there is no obvious location to stand where you request a table. We stood where we thought you should stand along with a few other people who were equally confused. After a while it was obvious no one was going to come over to us so I walk up to the waitress and asked to be put on the waiting list list. She seemed annoyed that I had to nerve to disturb her, but took my name. I asked if this list was for both seating areas. She said no, you need to go inside and ask about that area separately. Seemed silly to me, but I went inside. Exactly the same experience inside. No place to stand, no one walked over to me. Had to seek out a waitress to put my name on the list...again. I went back outside thinking I would never hear from her again. After standing outside for 20 minutes someone finally came over and asked if we were waiting for a seat. However, not before they seated a group of 4 people that literally just walked off street and jumped in line in front of us. Completely rude and the staff seemed oblivious to it. The place was dirty, napkins on the ground and bits of food scattered around. Not a good sign, but we sat down anyway. The waiter was nice enough, but my other half noticed that he was wearing really dirty shorts. Totally not appropriate dress for a waiter. I ordered a burger and she ordered a small pizza. The burger was almost raw and was disgusting, completely falling apart. The sweet potato fries were some machine made tasteless mess. The pizza was worse than what you would get at a crappy gas station at 2am. Likely a super cheap frozen pizza. Just awful! Stay away from this place! read more

Having spent 3 summers patronizing the Heritage, I have to knock them down to 3 stars (probably, it should be 2...but I can't bring myself to do that). Why? Because it is next to impossible to get a drink at this bar. I tip very well, I am reasonably patient (I've worked in restaurants and my Dad was a bartender for many years), and I've come in here with some frequency both during the day and at night. Yet, I can never get a drink in here. I am always, always frustrated at how long it takes. I've stopped wanting to come here because of it. And that makes me sad. read more

Does lunch time = nap time in Lenox? (On Memorial Day weekend?!) NO place was open!!! Heritage open with outdoor seating = Fantastic...at first. My partner had a Bloody Mary and it was G-O-O-D! I don't even like Bloody Mary's, and I kept stealing sips of it. Lots of horse radish and 'oomph'. The kind of Bloody Mary that puts a bit of hair on your legs. Yum! That's about where the 'fantastic' ends. Wings...OYE. Firstly, we ordered them as appetizers, but they arrived WITH the meal. The BBQ sauce must have been squeezed out of a bottle. The flavor was off, and the quality of the chicken...lets just say I was picturing a ginormous utility-sized bag of frozen wings that had been in the freezer since...last summer. They were awful. Any place with "Tavern" in their name should have better wings. Heritage Burger was just OK. The Cajun fries were nicely seasoned but a tad on the soggy side. Partner said his tuna melt was good. The biggest problem by far was the service. SLOOOOOWWWW. Our poor server, Gabby, was clearly handling too many tables. She was actually really sweet and apologized repeatedly to everyone for the delays, and it clearly wasn't her fault as she seemed very efficient and definitely had her hustle on. They really needed another server out there. Poor management? Then, as we were waiting (and waiting...) for our check, an elderly woman waiting (and waiting...) for a table with her daughter complained about the wait and made mention of the heat, and was promptly offered a seat at our table...while we were still sitting there! Mind you, I would always gladly offer up my seat to any older person, or anyone in discomfort, but this woman seemed fine, and it just created an awkward social moment - sharing our table with these 2 complete strangers who promptly ordered 2 chardonnays and didn't even thank us or make eye contact. We accepted defeat and just surrendered the table, and waited off to the side for our check. The woman who gave away our table with us still at it offered us 2 beers on the house, but we declined. I love the Heritage! Whether it be to grab a few drinks with friends or a bite to eat - you can't go wrong. Spinach and Artichoke Dip to Die for. Great Potato Skins. Sandwiches, Pizza and more.
