A friend and I went here for breakfast today about 9:30am. We got right in with no wait which I was surprised about for a Sat. morning. We hadn't been in a while and couldn't help but notice all the "No's" they had posted around the place. No bathrooms unless customers, no outside drink, no more than one debit/credit card per table, no splitting, no half-orders, no substitutions, etc. We weren't waited on immediately but when we were greeted I ordered an ice water, no lemon my friend ordered a coffee. I was brought a bottled water which I was charged for when in the past i just got a glass with water and ice. In looking at the menu i realized the prices had gone up and for an omelette large, it was the same price as a 3-egg one for MaryAnn's but homefries were extra it only came with toast. We both got breakfast sandwiches instead and when asked if we wanted homefries she said they're extra so we declined. I got Canadian bacon as their bacon is always way over done and greasy. What we ordered was fine and tasted fine. My friend needed a box for her food and she got a refill on her coffee (she only had 2 cups altogether) we were visiting as people do when they go out to eat and with no line and TWO empty tables the older waitress working came to our table slapped both her palms on the end of our table, leaned down and said, "ladies, we need the table." How RUDE! they did NOT need the table as there were two empty. We were simply enjoying our water/coffee (which my friend did not get to finish) and not being loud or disruptive and we were asked leave. Really? I have lived in this town longer than that rest. has been open as has my friend. You do NOT treat people like this and they have LOST our business and our families will no longer patronize it either. This is a small biz in a small town that made a BIG mistake. We were very upset and not wanting to cause an uproar we just paid and left. Our waitress just said "Thanks" when we gave her the bill with ONE debit card and did not apologize for their behavior. When we had finally finished paying we saw a couple waiting at the door again there were two empty tables and now 3. We had been in the establishment an hour and 10 mins. approx. It had not been an hour since we finished eating but a bit over an hour since we walked in. Apparently we didn't see the sign about the tables having time limits. We have gone here for years off and on and will not be back and Marie, who does not live in town just rudely and for no reason, ousted two longtime residents, needs to retire or cost them more business. The food is mediocre at best and the service is usually sub-par and after this there is no reason to return. read more
