I was so excited to have found a local shoe repair shop. I was given the option to pay at drop off or pick up. I left 3 pairs of shoes to be re-heeled...I pump & two sandals. Upon pick up today, the pumps were the only well- repaired pair. In fact, my pair of Born sandals were ruined. Marks were left all over the sandals....yet the repairman said they were hard to get off - then retracted & stated the marks were there when I dropped them off. Though he didn't charge me the $12 for this pair, that $12 will not replace the shoes. I will add photos. . I won't be back. read more

I too found the repairman rude and abrupt. I was required to pay for the work to be done when I dropped my shoes off. I suppose he did a good job (I had the heel replaced on a pair of boots) but was a little more than surprised when I saw that the replacement was more of a work boot variety as opposed to a pair of women's leather dress boots! I probably won't be going back there. read more

I live walking distance from this shoe repair place and will NEVER go back, I'd sooner drive for miles than deal with such a rude shop owner. He has the audacity to ask for payment in FULL before he does any work. Then when I picked up my shoes and tried to explain why I wasn't happy he simply turned his back on my and walked into the back. No attempt to correct the situation, could care less. Trust me this is not the place to go, I certainly won't be going back!!!!!!!!! read more

The workmanship was fine, but he was RUDE! I couldn't find my claim stub, but pointed out the shoes, told him my name and phone number which was on the shoes in question. He literally yelled at me for not having the claim stub. The man who used to own the shop (he always brought his dogs) was so nice. This man was nasty and I will never go back there. read more

The owner of this shop was extremely RUDE and started screaming at my husband for telling him about the condition of the sole of my boots ( I needed the heels resoled). He kept screaming at my husband saying "you should have told me.... these are your boots"..... Heck, my husband had no idea what he was talking about, he is the shoe cobbler. Apparently the soles were wore down more than we expected and it was a little more work for the owner. He then kept yelling and charged us 15.00 more dollars for labor. I have never met such a rude and antagonistic business man in my life. He looked at those boots prior to fixing them! I will never go back and please be warned this guy is insane. read more

Disclaimer: This is the first product/service review I've ever been motivated to contribute. You can thank me later. "I wasn't exactly expecting Gepetto when I first walked into this shop but I damn sure wasn't expecting The Soup Nazi. I stopped in one recent Saturday to drop off a pair of old friends for a retread and couldn't believe the reception I received. In less than 5 minutes I was being forced to wonder if I had somehow, by means totally unrecognized by me, offended this man in a manner commensurate with the unmistakably rude treatment I was receiving. . When I returned for the shoes two weeks later the owner was absolutely fuming that I had not been in already. I'm a 40 year old, 6'3", 215lb man and this curmudgeonly cobbler was lecturing me like I was a grade schooler who'd turned his homework in late. Keep in mind now, I had already paid for the work. It's safe to say that a passerby would've thought I had been doing nothing for two weeks but stopping the cobbler's customers at the front door to sell disposable shoes, advocate for the joys of barefootedness and promote the myriad benefits of foot amputations. The cherry on top: My beautiful 10 year old, dutifully and lovingly maintained, black J&M slip ons, that have literally carried me around the world ( to China and back anyway) in style and comfort, had been Frankensteined into a pair of orthopedic shoes. To wit, when Peter slammed my shoes on the counter, I calmly informed him that they were someone else's. Instead of removing and replacing the sole and heel, Peter had ineptly cobbled together (sorry;) a most inelegant and lazy solution, he glued a second sole right over the first. My sleek slip ons now had more sole than my work boots. Here my story assumes a tawdry and lurid theme and is in no way appropriate for the gentle reader. (That's not true, I may be getting carried away.) I demanded a refund and removal of the offensive material. He insisted repair was the only option, and I relented. I was equally unsatisfied with the second effort ( a more childish than monstrous result) but took the shoes and registered my disgust with only an erect, self-righteous glare. Until now. I read a few positive reviews on this thread (loved the guy who said " What, and you expect friendly too?! Oy!) but the overwhelming theme is that some very serious adjustments are in order for this cobbler's customer service approach. CAVEAT EMPTOR read more

I am extremely disappointed when I picked up my husband's shoes. I had new soles put on. On the side of the shoe there was a line of little holes. The owner said the machine did it!! These were $250 shoes that he ruined. He assured me that they won't fall apart. My concern was that he ruined the shoe...He filled the holes with wax and now there are little mounds on the outside of the shoe.....would not recommend this shop at all... read more
