I must say this is the rudest service I've ever received. The guy literally yelled at me in front of my kids, threw the shoe almost to my face, when I pointed that he did a terrible job stitching the shoe. It's not straight and because of it the loop still is not all the way attached to the shoe. This small stitch next to the loop costed me $18. Please avoid this scammer by all means. read more

This is not the first time I've used their service to hem up new slacks. This time it was 30 minutes or less to hem some new dress pants I needed for a wedding I was flying out to. Every time I go there I feel like I'm part of their family. You can tell they're family oriented. I've gone here multiple times. And even on a time crunch they're able to give me my stuff on time and well done. Took 2 pair of shoes to be repaired. One set needed a new heel. The other pair, the soul of the shoe was pulling away from the heel. Ha my said he would glue it. Well, after one day of wearing the shoes,the heel pulled away from the shoe and I wasted $50. Sorry Hakky, but your services are lacking and there penalty of other shoe repair shops. read more

Hakky has been in Raleigh for over 30 years. They've had several storefronts, but have always been located in Crabtree Valley Mall. I've gone there for everything from shoe repair to backpack/heavy cloth sewing. Over the years, customer service has diminished while prices have skyrocketed. They are no longer the mom&pop shoe repair place they once were. Breaking point was today when they told me a $20 item would cost $30 for a simple one-stitch 6 inch repair. I suggest another cobbler. read more

I had the keeper on a buckle of a pair of sandles come off. The sandals zipped in the back so it was just decorative not functional. He said he didn't know how to repair it since it was short, and I said can't you just sew it, even if you have to sew it on the top it is such a small area it won't show. He humfed and said he would try for $7. And it would be ready in 3 days?! They weren't busy, couldn't he do it in a few hours before I left the mall? Nope, and he threw the sandals back at me and walked away!! I went home and super glued it and it worked just fine. Nasty people and no 30 minute service as advertised. read more

I had the lining glued down at the toe of a pair of shoes, picked up my shoes and wondered why it was only $2 for the both of them. I took them home and put them in the box without checking them. A few days later when I put them on, I noticed some crumbly bits on my hand. Upon checking the shoes closer, I saw my shoes had been scratched very badly and then I noticed a crack on the side of sole. I looked closer and saw my shoes had been broken in two, both of them. When I took them back to ask what happened and why didn't he tell me the shoes were broken? I also reminded him he charged me, didn't tell me they were broken, nor did he just say he was sorry. He said he would not apologize because I broke the shoes. I asked him how could I break both shoes in the exact same place and why would I bring broken shoes to him to repair. He still said I broke them and he would not apologize. I was a customer of this store before it move into the Mall and could not believe the disrespect I was shown. I will never deal with them again and would advise others to go elsewhere. This experience definitely left a bad taste in my mouth! read more
