A friend recommended that we meet here for coffee, and I liked it enough to revisit within a week. While they offer your standard cafe beverages, they also have several food options including pastries and sandwiches. I tried a cardamom bun that was great, and their chicken BLT toastie was tasty and held up well when I took it to go and ate it later that afternoon. My minor complaint is the ordering system. You order at one location but then you pick up your drinks and food in two separate areas of the cafe. During my second visit, there was some back and forth after I picked up my pastry in one spot, got my drink at another location, and then went back to get my sandwich after it was ready. The staff member seemed a bit peeved that it took me a minute to pick up the sandwich, but when you are moving between two locations for your order items it can take a minute. Located right across from Bryant Park, about 5-8 minutes walk from Time Square. Since it's NYC, I feel the need to let you know that there's a bathroom here. Never went in but it's available. A Danish bakery from Denmark. The only things I got are sour dough croissants to bring back home prior to my flight. They're pretty big and the month I went (end of January), there was a special promotion of $3 a sourdough croissants. It's delicious even after reheating it back home. Flakey yet soft. Highly recommend. A great spot to stop for a break on your feet if you're not used to walking 20,000+ steps/day. Lots of tables and chairs. First day, the servers were attentive. In the morning when they're overwhelmed with customers, they may not be as attentive even though there's more staffs. Pastries on one side and drinks are made across another counter but in the same cafe. You pay at the main register by the pastries. Prices are on the higher end unless there's some sort of promotions going on. It's quite loud inside but that doesn't bother me. If you're a college student, perhaps not stop by here as it is semi-dimmed and loud. read more

I've previously been to the UES location, which I love. We came here on a Saturday after being turned off by the crowds and the expensive food prices at the Bryant Park Winter Village. Not a long line to order but many of the tables are occupied (seemed to be mainly by tourists). I ordered the following: Turkey feast sandwich $13.95 - very good! I love a good Thanksgiving sandwich! The stuffing on the sandwich appeared to have sausage meatballs in it so these were perfect for my baby Hot Chocolate $7.95 - I might consider this one of the top hot chocolates I've had in the city but when I realized what I was charged it became less appealing. I wish I could drink Ole & Steen hot chocolate every cold day of my life! Something about it reminds me of the Dominican hot chocolate my mom makes , and they add a big square marshmallow to sweeten the deal. Literally so super delicious. I also loved their chocolate swirl and fig slice pastries and found myself picking up some more for the plane ride back home! This location offers savory bites and sweet treats as well as cafe beverages and a grab and go bottled drink station. They also have lots of seating for working, studying, or just enjoying your order. Workers weren't necessarily rude but completely indifferent. that alone makes me never want to come back. However, the worst part was the food. I tried their matcha latte and was in utter shock at the lack of flavor. The only thing matcha about the drink was the color. It tasted like nothing but watered down water and milk. I spilt the drink and the worker rudely disregarded me. We felt very bad and decided to get the mousse cake to try something else. It ended up being nothing special. It was overwhelmingly sweet, which overpowered the chocolate taste to the point it didn't even seem like a chocolate cake anymore. Altogether, this place was horrible. Don't recommend. My friend and I stopped in for a coffee and snack in the afternoon because of how yummy their pastries looked in the window and it was definitely a bustling place and might be hard to do work in. But the line moves quickly and the cashiers and baristas are also really quick! Our lattes were pretty good, the cinnamon social syrup was good. I wish there was a pastry menu to read about while I was in line since I couldn't really see the pastries until I got to the front but I did enjoy our pastries and they were unique but overall the taste was pretty standard.
