Being from Wisconsin this place gave off perfect supper club vibes and was fantastic. We decided to dine here our last night in town on a Sunday. It was fairly busy but they don't take reservations so I'd imagine they're busier Friday and Saturday nights. The food was great. They're really known for their catfish and have great options for meat/pasta if seafood isn't your thing. Drinks were very affordable. Felt like a slice of heaven from Wisconsin. A cool part is they have water pouring down off the roof which gives a very peaceful and intimate vibe. Staff were great too. Our server was so nice and helpful. Stopped in for something different during our trip. A little on the nicer side as far as restaurant goes- but plenty of people in casual outfits, including us. Didn't feel as fancy as the food they offer. Staff was very nice and attentive. It was a little cold in our original spot and they had no problem moving us to a different area. We were checked in on plenty. A few people in our party shared items. The pasta dishes seem to come in skillets. We shared a chicken parm and had plenty leftover even after sharing. The one thing we all noticed, some things were salty. We noticed the ranch for our salad was salty, as well as the chicken on the chicken parm. Other than that, experience was good with friendly staff and a quiet place to eat. Food wasn't anything to rave about, but we enjoyed our meals regardless. read more

We had dinner here for a birthday and it was an interesting experience. The staff worked his tail off for all 18 of us and no one helped. I had the catfish bites and a loaded baked potato which were so good. I also tried a fried mushroom omg it was delicious. I was surprised that it was good but I guess it's technically the south. Nice little find just outside of the crazy downtown strip of Gatlinburg. We had just arrived to town, hadn't eaten all day and were starving. All places downtown had a 1.5+ hour wait list. Crystelle was very close to our cabin/Air B and B, had decent prices, and no wait.... So we checked it out! Service and our server was wonderful. Attentive without being overbearing and pushy. The ambiance was really lovely. Our table overlooked the creek that ran along the backside of the restaurant (hence the name), and there was a waterfall effect from the roof. It felt cozy. Food: at my table one ordered the burger and a baked potato, another ordered the spaghetti and meatballs and I ordered the Caesar salad with salmon. The burger and potato was good I was told. I tried my mom's dish, the pasta. Those meatballs were super tender and melt in your mouth. I would order those for me! The homemade marinara was perfectly seasoned and not too sweet. My salad with salmon hit the spot and the dressing was delicious. However, the salmon was hammered. Very overcooked! All in all, if I found myself in the area again I'd be back. Steps to the front entrance or a ramp off to the left for wheelchairs or strollers, which is also where the gender-segregated restrooms are. Everything was hit or miss on a Saturday night when they seemed to be under staffed. Misses like a dirty or empty water glass or incorrect side dish were all eventually remedied. The food was okay. Star of the show was definitely the hot cheese curds with a chunky marina. I really liked the tartar sauce on the catfish, but I thought the broccoli was overcooked. The sauce on the salmon is a little spicy btw, but the sweet potato fries were good with salt. Caveat emptor: the Caesar salad was ginormous. If you are looking for some no frills, home style, food this is the place. The fried mushroom app is really good, salads are large and fresh as well. I had the shrimp and rice which was exactly that, some shrimp over a small scoop of rice. It came with a small cup of tartar sauce and cocktail sauce. Cocktail sauce was legit with plenty of horseradish. You get 2 sides so I opted for the green beans and side salad. If your Grammy made green beans these will take you back. It was like a freezer meal. He had a steak that was dry and I had the Southwest Chicken that was tough and tasted frozen. Mac n cheese also tasted frozen. We chose Crystelle Creek because of its reputation and were looking forward to a nice steak dinner. There were definitely some positives. Our server was very kind throughout the evening, the salad was fresh, the garlic knots were excellent, and my baked potato was good. I snuck a bite of my son's spaghetti and meatballs while waiting for a replacement steak and it seemed good. Unfortunately, the steaks were disappointing. Three of us ordered steaks, and none were cooked to the requested temperature. My daughter ordered medium rare and received medium. My husband ordered medium and received medium well. I ordered medium, and mine arrived well done. I've never sent food back at a restaurant before, but I had to this time. By the time my replacement arrived, everyone else had finished eating. While it was cooked better, it was heavily seasoned with garlic salt, and for a $40 steak, I expected much better. I appreciate our server's efforts and don't blame him for what came out of the kitchen. Unfortunately, the meal simply didn't justify the price, and we left disappointed. read more

We went to the restaurant last night to celebrate our 48th anniversary. This is a place we frequent regularly. Last night was horrible. My husband's shrimp cocktail had terrible presentation as the prawns were presented in a small bowl of ice. To add to that, they were very tough. My spaghetti and meatballs were extremely bland and tasteless. The "good cook" must have been absent for the night. The server was very inattentive and nonchalant. We have always had excellent service and food at this establishment in the past. Unfortunately, we want be doing that again. I work in tourism and recommendations place quite frequently. We've been here many times since my initial review, including this afternoon. The past few times, things haven't seemed as good. We both started with the house salad with ranch dressing. We both thought the dressing was good but tasted very salty. When I relayed this to the waitress, she curtly insisted there was no salt in the dressing since it's made in house. How then could it taste salty? That exchange could have been handled better, especially when I initially complimented the dressing before expressing my concern. When our meals came, I certainly wasn't going to complain that the jumbo shrimp, although fresh, were too small to be called jumbo. Nor was my wife going to say anything about the saltiness of the chicken in her fettuccini dish. We really aren't the type to complain anyway. This may have been our last visit here. I give it 3 stars. Kids give it 4. So, 4 it is. Kids got chicken and broccoli Alfredo and loved it. I got burger. Meat was very good. Bun was cold, but I normally peel most of it away, so it wasn't really a problem for me. My son got burger with added bacon and cheese, and they were not stingy with either and he really enjoyed it. I was not a fan of the sweet potato fries. The regular fries were much better. We also got prime rib which was very good. Service was stellar. Ambiance was nice. read more

We had a wonderful experience at Crystelle Creek! We came in after a 7 hour drive, it was late and there was an hour until closing time. You wouldn't have know by the way they served us! They took their time and didn't rush us at all. The steak was cooked perfectly, I appreciate that the server asked me to cut into it while she was at the table to make sure it was how I wanted it cooked. My husband said his burger was good too. Not professional and while the ambiance is kind of cool with the waterfall-outdoor roof, the food is subpar at best. Cheesecurds are SO hot from spices, you'll need to love HOT food or order a couple of glasses of milk. Prime rib is ok, once you remove the 2/3 fat. Salad is a salad. The shorthaired blonde behind the bar is always there and friends with all the locals. If an elderly local hits on you and you politely decline, your service is s*** the rest of the night. Mediocre. Went on Wednesday night. Party of 10 so we had to wait 30 minutes for a table but when we went to tent back, restaurant was half full and they had two tables for 10 empty. Staffing problem? I had the prime rib. Came on a cast iron skillet but the cast iron was cold. And the food was warm but not hot. Granddaughter had chicken Alfredo. She said the sauce was watery, chicken was charred, and broccoli was crunchy. Three people in our party had steaks and all three came out on cold cast iron with barely warm steaks. Sangria was really good. It was close to Rocky Top Sports so closest place to eat. Will not return despite how close it is to the sports complex. read more

Crystelle creek is a lovely Gatlinburg food establishment that offers Italian, seafood and steaks. My family and I were in town from Lousiville for the weekend for our daughters cheer competition. Upon checking places out our first night here this place stuck out. It had a 50 foot lit up tree and was surrounding by lovely water and offered types of food we enjoyed. So it was a no brainer. We made the trip out. I will say this place was breathtaking beautiful. The lit up tree and the backdrop are all post card material. The establishment itself has a nice vibe and is rather large but kind of in a strange L shape pattern. We were able to catch an immediate seat on This late Thursday night in March. Service here was pretty solid and fast. We started with an app of Wisconsin cheese curds. The curds weren't bad but they were incredibly spicy. Crust had nice Golden crisp taste to them and cheese when you wasn't picking up strong spice hints had good flavor. Me personally I went with the Chicken parm. It was not very good. Chicken was rubbery, had a lack of cheese and also had a really spicy flavor as well. Just wasn't very good. My wife got the spaghetti bake and said it was just decent. Spice level on her food was good but she said it was nothing that wowed her. My younger kids got the kids chicken tenders and Mac and cheese. They ate majority so no complaints from them. My oldest got the Chicken broccoli Alfredo. She did not like it at all. She took a few bites and apologized to me and my wife because she was not going to finish it. She just didn't like the flavor. Overall this place is beautiful and we wanted to love it. The food we had on this trip was lacking. Maybe we made the wrong call on wanting Italian from here. Food was good, but not fantastic. They had a great selection of whiskies and moonshine from the ever-present That Which Should Not Be Named Smoky Mountains Company. Wife had the chicken Alfredo pasta...I wasn't a huge fan of the sauce. It was a bit on the bland side and could have used about five more cloves of garlic. I had the steak, macaroni and cheese and onions and mushrooms. Highly recommend the onions and mushrooms to go with the steak, but the macaroni was decent at best. Service was good, with the waiter being attentive to our needs and stopping by a good number of times to check up on us. The roof and atmosphere was interesting--it kinda looks like someone erected a shack on top of a creek at the base of a mountain. We had a large party. The place is beautiful. A lovely environment. We were excited at first. They seated us quickly. Service was slow but we were a large party so we give grace. The filet was cooked perfectly and the Caesar salad was full of flavor and loaded with Parmesan and croutons. We had lots of salads so it did seem odd that the food took as long as it did. 45-50 minutes. We stopped checking the time when we hit 40 minutes. It came a few minutes after that. Whenever we asked about something, he was short with his answer. I guess he figured he didn't have to be nice because gratuity would automatically be added to bill because of size party we had. Food was good, so that was a plus. Martinis were served in a small stemless wine glass, definitely not worth the price as it was only filled 1/2 way, it was more like a shot.
