I have tried lots of mediterranean spots and this place has made it into my top favorites. Rice was incredibly flavorful and fluffy, different than what i've had and I'm obsessed. I decided on the combo plate choosing beef and lamb, with grape leaves and potato salad; this comes with pita bread and dip of choice. Portion for me was full, filling and reasonably priced- i decided on garlic and it was everything I was craving and more. Meat cooked to my medium rare preference, quality had me in disbelief as it was so juicy and had a wonderful bite to it. You can tell of care and quality of meat and how clean it tasted; lamb was not gamey at all (i enjoy lamb naturally but wanted to note this for my friends with sensitive palates & those looking to try something new). Grape leaves were yum- i'm always looking forward to those and I never had potato salad with a lemon/garlic dressing combo so I was pleasantly surprised to try and fully enjoyed the light and refreshing flavors that it provided to my meal. This is a nice spot, very accessible to anyone looking to grab and go for lunch or sit and enjoy their meal. I felt their commercial was very misleading. The staff could definitely be improved upon. We're not going back primarily because of Food sub-par, I've had all the items that I ordered there at other Mediterranean restaurants without a problem, their Humus tasted like it had peanut butter in it we ordered a little of everything on the menu and the only thing that was up to par where the grilled lamb chops, served on a bed of what we both agreed was Rice-A-Roni. I brought my leftovers home and they're unedible. I can't believe that I was so stupid, to trust the information given in the commercial on Facebook. We were the only two people in the shop and my girlfriend got her grilled pork chops and Rice-A-Roni, we bought soft drinks and 20 minutes later my food still has not arrived. We purchase appetizers hot and cold and I sat there for the better part of a half hour waiting for my food to arrive, while she sat there refusing to start eating her hot entree. It claim to be authentic fresh daily on the little clip, but I'm starting to think the reason they're hummus tasted like peanut butter is because it was slightly going off? The falafel was hard overdone and basically my kids would love to have them to throw at each other in the den. The ambiance; there wasn't any it was like the Jack in the box even though it was represented as a mom and pop operated authentic business. As we waited for our food, we couldn't help but notice there were over it doesn't location on the menu listed. The two guys English was challenging when asking pretty basic questions about a dish. *This is a warning to the wise, Daphne's is far better, Luna is far better I'm talking heads above this. 5 stars for our new favorite Mediterranean spot :) Clean restaurant. Casual dining. Customer service was nice, appropriate. Had a small appetite today, I opted for the chicken kebab bowl, hubby ordered the beef shawarma wrap. The chicken kebab was yummy, juicy , the rice had great flavor, slightly fluffier than rice pilaf texture which I enjoyed very much. It came with a side of garlic sauce, garlicky and perfect! Absolutely phenomenal food. Falafel wrap was light and flavorful, fantastic texture on the falafel and crunch on the veg. Was checking out the plaza and noticed they were about to close, so I was just leaving when Karim beckoned me to come in. He informed me that he was closing shop for the day, but was enthusiastic for me to try his food if I was interested. His enthusiasm really struck a chord in me and I had to say yes. Our go to spot for take out Mediterranean food. The grape leaves are freshly made, the hummus is homemade and the pita is warm and fluffy. What gets me every time is the rice. It's addicting. Had noodles and is fluffy and seasoned perfectly. Chicken or beef kebab is our go to. But they have vegetarian falafel too. Bowls are smaller and maybe better for lunch but we like leftovers. There's nothing special about this plate and I was surprised that it lacked traditional flavors. The rice was a bit mushy so they must have used too much water when cooking it. The salad dressing was very light, but the ingredients themselves were fresh and crispy. The babacanoush was okay and lastly the kefta appears to be a good quality meat, but it was bland. Really terrible shawarma. I came here on Eid Al Adha because I was craving shawarma. Got the beef shawarma, which was inedible. The bread was ice cold to the touch. The meat was also cold and looked like it was cooked in a normal pan. Worst of all, they put raw white onions in it -- something that should never go in a shawarma. I also ordered fries that they completely forgot about even though there was only one other person in the whole place. I ended up not eating more than 2 bites of the shawarma and tossing it. I will preface this by saying we have eaten at Georgie's probably a dozen times and have wholeheartedly recommended them to others. Not sure if the upcoming name change means that ownership has changed already, but today's experience was extremely disappointing. 1) My text said order would be ready between 2:20-2:25. I received a text at 2:28 (while parking) that my order was ready. We walked in and a man from the kitchen just said "I'm not late, YOU are late." I thought they were joking so I laughed, but he just repeated that he made the food on time and repeated that I was late. Alright. He then told me to confirm the order. I asked if he meant the contents so I started repeating my order, to which he just said "please confirm when you're at your car." Thoroughly confused, I grabbed the bag and left. I'm assuming he thought I was a DoorDash person, but it was a very odd exchange. 2) One of the wraps ordered was a chicken tarna wrap, but what we received was a chicken kebab wrap. No worries on this mix up, it still tasted good. The falafel in the other wraps was fine, not as great as it's previously been but not our main concern. 3) Main complaint: my husband always orders the same thing - beef kebab bowl with fries and garlic sauce. I'm posting a picture of what we received because this was unbelievable and what can only be described as a kid's meal. This was $14.50?! A handful of fries, dry and overcooked kebab, and no garlic sauce. The portion size is a quarter of what it used to be and the quality is subpar. Sold. I stumbled on Georgie's via Postmates. They currently offer a BOGO Chicken Shawarma delivery deal that was too good to pass up. This meal includes two sides, a plate of rice, sauce, pita, and shredded shawarma. I ended up choosing the Mediterranean salad and rice as my sides - mainly because I didn't read the description. I also ordered their falafel appetizer. Girl math, purchasing a BOGO means that you've got extra money to spend. The entire meal was superb. Each dish could easily feed me 2-3 times. I was really excited to try this place because of the high reviews but it was a really bad experience. There was no one at the restaurant when we walked in and that should have been my sign. We ordered the 2 chicken skewer plate with double of the Mediterranean salad and a side of the lamb kabob to try. First, all of the meats were extremely overcooked. Dry, salty, could not cut through and tasted burnt. I was wondering why they said the chicken would take 20 minutes and that's definitely because it was just being overcooked. Also disappointed the cashier said the Mediterranean salad had lettuce in it. I knew that was incorrect because they usually don't and it was the worst salad or really mixed veggies I have ever said. You can see how heavily doused the veggies were with sumac. It was the saltiest thing I have ever had and unfortunately couldn't eat it. Rice was below average. All of this was brought to their attention just to help them and we were cooked another chicken skewer 5 piece that was the same. Would not recommend. A new Mediterranean spot that opened up in HB and I got to check it out recently for lunch! Georgie's serves up tasty Mediterranean food with great portion sizes and good prices. I ordered the Beef Shawarma plate and chose the Baba Ghanouj and Potato Salad for my 2 sides and I waited less than 10 minutes before my order was ready. I also got garlic sauce on the side. It was delicious and the pita bread that also came with the plate was fresh and warm and paired well with the garlic sauce and baba ghanouj. The beef was flavorful and not dry and the rice was buttery and rich. The potato salad was one of the better ones I've had and I would get it as a side again. Overall, I had a great meal and good service. The interior was clean and well-lit with screens showing the menu. We ordered the chicken shawarma plate with dolma and spicy hummus, 3 meat combo with lamb and chicken with tzatziki, spicy fries, and baklava. The entrees came with one piece of pita each and yummy garlicky lebneh. The vermicelli rice is fluffy and flavorful, the meat is tender and flavorful, the grape leaves were outstanding. Husband devoured his plate plus the walnut baklava. The portions are generous; this was dinner and will be lunch tomorrow. It's tucked in between the Gen Korean BBQ restaurant and Einstein Bros bagels. The wait time wasn't bad, about 10 minutes, but it's because all the food is made fresh to order. I'm glad I double check, the ground beef kebab was a mixture of beef n lamb. I'm so disappointed lately every Middle East restaurant served such cheap cut of beef that they were 100% not edible. They just opened this spot in OC and I am so stoked! I can't believed that they have moved to OC. They got many location in LA and finally they came to OC. It is located by the 405 freeway on Beach Blvd. I passed by this plaza all the time because there is a Walmart close by. On to the food. Everything was freshly made. They even made their sauces in house. I had the bbq beef, kabobs and chicken. Everything was flavorful. The cucumber yogurt was refreshing.
