Pizza is really good but tonight I ordered a take out pizza. I was told it would be 45- 1 hr. When I arrived in 1hr my pizza wasn't ready and when I questioned the attendant, she remarked that it takes this long for a take out and that it would be ready in about 10 min. , I finally got my pizza 20 Minutes later resulting in a take out pizza taking 1 hr and 20 minutes. This in and of itself is ridiculous but when we got home the order wasn't even correct. We ordered a thin crust and it was anything but one. Really disappointed and will think twice before returning to an establishment that I have frequented for over 20 years, with recent mixed success. Coming from Michigan, we were trusting what others said about Oley's. The family gave it 5 Stars. First, the staff were great. Glasses full, orders taken and suggestion were very good. Second, the Garlic Knots were probably an Italian version on manna from heave. Lite, warm, great flavor and fresh. I would recommend them to anyone. Finally the pizza was super. Crust is good and thin with an edge that is thick but doesn't take away from the center of the pizza. The toppings on the Meat pizza were heavy duty. It is a carnivore's delight. The Margarita pizza was vey good also. Tomatoes were delicious with basil and garlic. So yummy!! Unanimously, we will be back!! read more

This is a one of a kind type pizza. Very high quality made. The large deluxe is a masterpiece. Personally I can only eat one piece, 2 I'm totally over stuffed. They do a huge takeout. Some of the best pizza you can get anywhere in The Fort. Sit down dining available, but I've always gotten take-out. The double crust deep dish is awesome. Be prepared to be stuffed after 2 slices. My husband grew up in Fort Wayne and his family still lives around here. Though there isn't a whole hell of a lot to do in Fort Wayne, you can be sure that we set aside at least one lunch/dinner to pay a visit to this place. As you will see referenced in other reviews, I am not a big fan of pizza. Throw all of that out the window when it comes to Oley's. I LOVE OLEY'S. My husband loves their double decker pizza (it's HUGE, he can usually only eat 2 pieces before feeling sick) though I'm completely content with their single layer "normal" pizza. Then again, there's nothing "normal" about something that tastes like it came from heaven. We've also been known to down a pitcher (or two...or five) of beer while we're here and for a little hole-in-the-wall pizza place, their bar isn't all that bad. I always get a salad to start out my meal and though it isn't anything special, it's pretty tasty. Service is generally pretty good (it's a really small dining room), but the pizza does take a while to make so you'll wait for your food awhile (which is why we've gone through so much beer in one sitting.) One huge downfall is their weird hours. We still can't figure them out. They're open for approximately 2.5 hours on Saturdays, I swear. (This is an exaggeration, but seriously, don't get your heart set on Oley's until you have a chance to make sure it's on the schedule. We've done that before and it seriously almost brought me to tears.) We're simple people who always choose things like pepperoni or sausage (or, SOMETIMES, we get BOTH), but they have a ton of selections. If pizza isn't your thing, they also have lots of items to choose from on the menu (which is always my first line of defense), but, coming from a non-pizza lover, I've gotta say - you need to at least try a slice. The next time we'll visit Fort Wayne will likely be for Thanksgiving and I would gladly for-go the Thanksgiving feast for a dinner at Oley's. It's THAT good. read more

$8 lunch pizza buffet WITH drink?!? Shut up and take my money. Pizza is surprisingly well above average, and I really liked the sandwiches too. The food is generally a bit heavy, but it's a pizza buffet. I'm not stopping here in between training sessions for a marathon. The decor is definitely "no frills" but I'm only there for the cheap, good eats. My coworkers tell me of some kind of monster 10 lb pizza you can call in and order. I knew that we would have to wait 1 hour and 45 min. for our pizza to be ready so I arrived at my scheduled time and still had to wait another 30 minutes for my pizza then when I got home with it it was the wrong pizza. Honestly, I've had Chicago pizza, and I would take Oley's any day of the week over it. The double crust deluxe pizza is just full of toppings, cheese, and flavor. You shouldn't be able to eat more than two pieces---this stuff will fill you up! Just to note this place is worth the wait---once seated, you will have to wait at least 40 minutes for your food. I like the bacon club pizza but single crust. We also got double crust and we liked the single crust better. We also had some garlic knots with cheese dipping sauce and the dipping sauce was really good. The service was really slow and they forgot one of our items but the food was really good. read more

I cannot say enough about Oley's Pizza. They are known for their double crust pizza (crust, cheese, crust, toppings, more cheese). However, their single crust is phenomenal as well. Try the house dressing - dip your pizza in it. One of the better kept secrets is their sandwiches. I like the hot ham and cheese. They use the same cheese as their pizza and they put it on a garlic buttered bun. Again, dip in house dressing and you won't be sorry. Everything tastes wonderful. You can tell that they don't cut any corners. They have a cozy bar in the back room that feels like you are down in someone's basement. It reminds me of a place you would find in Bloomington or another college town. Nice cold beer to go with your pizza. The service is wonderful and friendly as well. It's good pizza one of the best things about it is that it's local, hot, fresh, and perfect for when I'm really hungry. It's all made to order. Like any good pizza, it's a little bit salty. This was our first time at Oley's. We recently moved to IN from FL and we have our favorites when it comes to pizza. We have been looking for that one place that we could call "our favorite pizza place", we'll, we found it! Oley's Pizza was outstanding. Placed a carry out order As expected a 45-60 minute wait. It was over an hour. Our garlic knots were not included but my husband noticed they were missing. After he got home, we realized my meal and our breadsticks were not included. As we know service is spotty here, we probably should have confirmed while we were there that they had managed to put our entire order together. I've been here several times for lunch. They have a buffet that has been great in the past. Salad bar is simple, but effective. This time the pizzas on the buffet at noon were rock hard crusts, cardboard like and well over cooked from sitting under the lamps for hours. This review is coming to you from an avid pizza lover. Moreover, I am a Chicago style in the Chicago vs New York style so I may be a little biased. That being said, this place is incredible. From the food to the atmosphere to the service. We started off with the garlic knots which were absolutely delicious. (Side note: they're almost more delicious cold the next morning...) We also ordered a deep dish stuffed pizza, an Oley's favorite, and it more than exceeded expectations. For a pizza to be great it needs to start with great crust and with deep dish I think it's sometimes hard to get a crust that isn't reminiscent of cardboard. The crust was perfect, the toppings weren't too heavy for the structure and were most importantly fresh and flavorful. The atmosphere was perfect. It's the pizza parlor that has been around since anyone can remember with low lighting, wood panels and intimate booths. Probably the best feature, though, was the service. Lovely was our service and she more than lived up to her name. We smiled all through dinner and ended up moving to the bar just to laugh with her some more when dinner was through.
