They do not pass on the cost that large HVAC companies do (like advertising) to their customers, so you always get the best deal. They have been working on our AC's for over 10 years. Our systems are 20+ years old and still work wonderfully because we get twice a year maintenance done by Farrell Mechanical. It also has helped us catch things before they become huge problems, and our repairs have always been reasonably priced. These are salt of the earth people who are not trying to upsell you or rip you off. When you call them, you will always get a person, it doesn't matter what time of day or night or holiday it is. If you are looking for an excellent HVAC specialist or for someone to clean your air ducts (for real) or install air quality products, these are the people to call.

We had expected it since the existing system was nearly 20 yrs old and an outdated R22 system. Brett was prompt on getting out there, very straightforward on what the problem was, a condenser failure, and what my options were for replacement. He came back with his recommendations on what system we should go with and was very clear as to why he was recommending it, which helped me to understand his train of thought and whether that met my needs. He and his team were also very quick to replace the unit and accommodating with the daughter, who's currently living at the house. I don't hope to have any HVAC issues in the near future, but I know who I'll call when I do.

The Ferrin Brother's had an appointment with me on Friday morning. They did not show up. I…read morerescheduled for Monday morning, they did not show up for that appointment either. They finally showed up about 2.5 hours after my appointment time on Monday. The technician looked at my ac unit for about 5 minutes before telling me I had a bad thermostat. He did not do a full inspection to get a proper diagnosis the first time. I calle the company back and spoke with Colby who told me it would be another 80 some dollars to have the technician just take a look at the a/c unit again. He told me that he would talk to the technician and he would call me back later if he wanted to. That wasn't acceptable to me so Colby had the owner call me. The same technician came back out twice. So by the third time on Thursday, he fixed the problem. This time he found the problem in the attic. After he had left my home, my kitchen light was left dangling from my ceiling. We called the owner of the company to take a look at it. When he got here, he claimed zero responsibility and blamed the kitchen light on bad light installation. The owner Justin left my home saying, "you had $400 worth of work done for $195, you are on your own. Don't call me again". I paid $195.00 for a thermostat that cost them maybe $45.00. I paid for a thermostat on the first visit, when after the third visit on Thursday, we had discovered wasn't even the problem. When they did find the problem, there was no need for new parts... The drain line was backed up so he emptied it. Hardly $400 worth of work. I don't ask much from a company, I only want my initial problem fixed the first time, and not more problems created. I have no respect for this company.

If you have AC needs, a home warranty, or both, skip K&K…read more I had a very disappointing and unprofessional experience with K&K during a home warranty AC service call. The system was diagnosed as having low refrigerant and likely a significant leak, with poor cooling performance and a very low temperature differential. The report recommended full system replacement. While those findings can indicate a serious issue, the recommendation to replace the entire system was made without documenting the actual leak location, performing a leak isolation test, or clearly identifying which component had failed. When I called the office for clarification, I spoke with Danny, who became defensive when I asked questions about the diagnosis and why repair options were not being considered. During that conversation, he told me to "stop acting so crazy" simply for asking for clarification on the findings, which was unprofessional and inappropriate. Danny was also confused regarding the home warranty process (see attached invoice from K&K) including statements that I would need to pay K&K directly, which contradicts the home warranty company. For context, I obtained a second opinion from another licensed HVAC company, which recommended a more measured approach including leak testing, refrigerant recharge, and evaluation of individual components before considering full system replacement. At a minimum, I would expect clear documentation of diagnostic steps, confirmation of failure points, and professional communication when recommending a major system replacement. Based on this experience, I would strongly advise other homeowners with home warranty coverage to get a second opinion before approving full HVAC system replacement recommendations from this company.
