We stumbled on this great restaurant! Perfect for a Sunday lunch!! The owner is friendly. Great atmosphere!

Loved it! It was fresh and thoughtfully prepared Mediteranian food. I came in early on a Tuesday night. The server was attentive in just the right amount. He knew the menu and wines well and took time to thoughtfully answer my questions. The prices were average for the area. I thought they were a tiny bit high but once I got my meal, it really was worth it. My meal with the wine was around $16 without the tip - reasonable for dinner in my opinion. I received a generous glass of wine with my mediterranean platter of hummous, taboulrleh, baba ganoush, and falafel. The portions were more than enough and I ended up taking home enough for lunch. The server and I were talking about the menu and he said the "eggplant" was fabulous. I said I had almost ordered it so he actually brought me out a piece to try. It was a slice of eggplant that had been grilled perfectly with just a tiny bit of firmness. Then it was marinated and served cold. It was delicious. I must admit it was the best baba ganoush and falafel I have ever had in Atlanta. They also served a twist on the olive oil/bread thing by adding balsalmic, feta, and fresh tomatoes and herbs all served with warm pita. The only thing I didn't care for was the music. It was flowery piano renditions of show tunes and pop music. A wee bit reminescent of Muzac. The atmosphere calls for something a little more hip, maybe jazz or wold music... This is by far the best Mediterranean food I have ever had. I'm Puerto Rican but outside of my own cultures food Mediterranean is my favorite! Everything is so fresh, so much flavor, and very delicious! Not only is the food excellent but they treat their customers so well. So polite and kind. 10/10 would recommend. This place made me a believer in lamb chops. The lamb chops in the past weren't great. In fact, they almost lacked taste and quite overcooked. But for some reason, when the server mention it as one of the specials, I decided to try it out. The result was a very moist, flavorful meat with hints of char, on top of rice and with a side of tzinki sauce. It was unbelievable delicious. And expensive. The thing was about 22 dollars. (note to self: watch out for the specials). Putting aside that, I had great service and the egg plant humus was good. The ambiance was nice for being a small place in a mini-mall. I could see myself taking somebody here for a nice quiet dinner. Win. read more

Another good spot near the office for lunch. Get the Greek or antipasto salad, add gyro meat, along with some warm pita and you are all set! The friendly staff has all been there a while and the owner is totally hands on. They do get a little hectic at lunch time but the food still comes out pretty quickly. read more

This is a small Greek restaurant with a seemingly limited menu. Three of us visited this week and all said that, while it was "good", it wasn't one that we would visit again. (We find that's the best way to decide if we loved it--if we would spend money on it again.) The service: When we arrived, there was only one server for the whole restaurant, but she was very friendly and moved quickly, ensuring that people weren't waiting very long at all. The food: Two of us got the Mediterranean platter with falafel, baba ghanouge, tabbouleh, and Greek salad. It was pretty good, but nothing really exciting. My husband got the lamp gyro, and he said it was decent, but not as good as some he's had in other places. Bottom line: Although we generally like Greek food, this place was just good--not great. The service is awesome, though, so perhaps for some it would be worth a try. read more

This is my favorite place in atlanta. The food is made fresh daily and you can taste it in every dish. I am plant based and there are 6-7 dishes I am able to eat. They have an excellent drink selection and oh my goodness the baklava is amazing (if you're into chocolate be sure to ask for chocolate drizzle--SO good). Last but not least I have to tell you about Ash, he is AMAZING. He works his butt off to give excellent service and maintain a positive environment. This restaurant is a MUST. read more

If you're looking for fantastic Mediterranean Food in a relaxed atmosphere, Olive Bistro on Cobb Parkway is where you want to go. I've tried many different entrees and appetizers here, and I can say that almost everything is absolutely delicious and just about as authentic as Greek and Lebanese-inspired food can be in Atlanta. If you're new to this type of food, I recommend the Gyro to start, as even the least adventurous among us know a Gyro (pronounced Yee-Roh, and not J-eye-Roh, rhyming with "eye," Gee-Roh, or Ghee-Roh). The Hummus is also especially delicious, with hints of garlic and lemon, and of course, extra virgin olive oil. If you're familiar with Mediterranean fair, I recommend you dig in with the Lamb Kabobs or my personal favorite, the Stuffed Grape Leaves, Falafel, and Tabouleh (pronunced Tah-Boo-Lee). The Stuffed Grape Leaves are bursting with flavor, the Falafel is unlike any I've ever had with an uncommon spicy kick, and the Tabouleh wakes up your tongue with its zesty freshness. Olive Bistro doesn't get five full stars because although the Lamb Kabobs are wonderful, I found the Lamb Chunks Pita Sandwich to be a bit lacking in flavor and honestly, pretty bland, and the Baba Ganoush was... it just tasted sour to me. Othewise, Olive Bistro is a fantastic place for lunch or dinner, and I will return as often as I can. read more

The hummus appetizer was ok, but my entree - gyro meat served on rice & lentils, with a side greek salad - was skimpy on the meat and the lentils weren't very flavorful. I stopped in on a business trip and found this excellent lunch restaurant! I had a gyro sandwich with a side of baba ganoush. The pita bread was fresh and warm. The baba ganoush was smooth & creamy and the gyro sandwich was very tasty with a nice sauce. I had baklava for dessert which was warm, fresh and delicious. Went here for lunch on a weekday with a couple coworkers. I got the grilled lamb pita pocket and the greek salad. The salad had an awesome spice mix/dressing that really set it apart from other Greek salads that I've had. Everything was well seasoned and well spiced and the waitress was really friendly and attentive. I wish the lamb was cut in thinner slices in my pita but overall it was nice. Went to the Olive Bistro on Cobb Parkway for the first time the other day. Bruce, our waiter, was very helpful and guided us through a lot of the menu items. We loved the tzatziki appetizer. It was served with tomatoes and pita bread. The falafel was delicious, although spicier than we expected. The Tuscan beans were heavy on the garlic but also a standout. You almost wouldn't find it tucked into this little shopping center but it's worth the stop. read more

I am extremely picky about food and very particular about service. This place has NEVER failed me both these aspects. I just stay a stone's throw away from Olive Bistro and have walked there many a times. I love their Mediterranean platter and their chicken rice and lentils. They are generous with the garlic that they add, which makes their food unique and enjoyable. Their tabouleh is just right neither too acidic nor too bland. I had just one instance when their tabouleh was extremely bland and when asked was given a valid reason that it was just prepared and had not spent enough time in lemon. Their Tapenade is the only form of olives that i love. Their tuscan beans is wonderfully flavored with olive oil, garlic and other herbs and it comes topped with one of the best sun dried tomatoes that I have ever had. Some times they go overboard with olive oil for this dish which i don't like. Their rice and lentils with chicken is another thing i love. The rice and lentils is subtly flavored and the good thing is the flavors actually reach the heart of each rice grain. I mean it, its just not superficial. The chicken is not overly spiced and not oily.. Coming from the Indian sub continent, I sometimes find their chicken a bit bland for my liking. For dessert I prefer their Turkish Coffee. The steaming cup of coffee with cardamom is a pleasure for the senses. I find their bakalava too heavy with cinnamon and hence avoid it. The music they play fits in with the theme The only thing I find out of place is a huge photo of charlie chaplin. I have not understood the connection between the photo and the restaurant. The staff here is extremely friendly. They remember my tastes and preferences and I have had the pleasure of some good conversations with them. I like my pita heavily toasted without feta and I have always got it the way I want without even asking them :) These are small things that make me want to visit this place again and again. read more

We ordered thru Yelp 24 so I realize that take out is never quite the same as dining in. However, the food was cold (not just lukewarm) and the price was really high for what we had. It was $60 for a gyro plate, lamb kebabs and some baklava. Was not impressed with the taste either - I love Mediterranean food but this all tasted the same. What is really sad is that if they're going to use some fake gyro don't call it gyro when it's not gyro from a cone. For the price given for this food use REAL gyro... it's such a shame to me! The only reason why I even gave up to three stars is because the baba ganoush and the chicken tabbouleh pita sandwich was really good as well as their tabbouleh salad was really good and they're hummus was okay as well I've had different types hummus being Middle Eastern myself so there's different kinds with different seasonings so it was okay. If you want real gyro make sure you go to a place and ask them if they use it from a cone do not waste your time on this fake meat that they're selling which typically would be sold in places where teenagers are working from high school. read more

After meeting the owner's wife at ANBAYT, I vowed to visit here to get some more of their delicious hummus. I finally made it one afternoon for a snack/dinner. I ordered to take out, although the inside dining area was very inviting-- very low key with a romantic yet casual feel to it. I ordered the spinach and feta phyllo and a side of hummus. The phyllo was sooo good I wish I had doubled up! The hummus was also tasty and I think they gave me extra pita bread in my order ;) The people working there are really sweet too. I'm a greek food fanatic and am always looking for a good place close home. Olive Bistro was not it. The service was good, and that's about all that was good. My spanakopita was very soggy and had a bit of a tart lemon taste to it. My entree was a greek salad with chicken. The chicken was seasoned pretty well and came with a white sauce (not tzatziki sauce) which was good. The greek dressing didn't have a whole lot of flavor. Also, I asked for no tomatoes, but got them anyway. All-in-all, not impressed. read more

Stopped by for a quick Friday lunch. No problem finding a seat, because it was not crowded. (Parking was h@ll though, too tiny of a parking lot for that many stores). Ordered the Tabouli salad ($6.99). He ordered the lunch special Lamb, Dirty Rice, Salad, and Drink ($7.99) I felt that the wait time before the food was served was acceptable, not short, but not overly long either. When the food arrived, the Tabouli was spread out onto a flat plate, served with a side basket of warmed pita bread. The menu listed the Tabouli being accompanied by wheat crackers, not sure why this was changed. I would have preferred the crackers although the pita bread was fresh and warm, if you like that kinda thing, just doesn't really go well with a cold salad. The Tabouli was fresh with quality tomatoes and cucumbers, however it was too heavily seasoned with salt which over powered the dish. I will not be ordering that again. He liked the Lunch Special, with no complaints about its flavor. Our server was a kind, young woman who was nice and very prompt with our drink refills. Upon our departure, we were wished a hearty Good Day by the Host as we walked out. I will enjoy returning to the Bistro and sampling some of their other dishes to see if their tastes improve. read more

Had a great meal here. Ordered take away because I am just in the Atlanta area for the day, didn't know the restaurant layout, and didn't necessarily want to dine alone. First, the food. I had a very nice (though not the best I've had) hummus dip with a generous amount of pita bread (take away had an option to order extra). Next, was a Caesar salad. All of the ingredients were top notch sand quite fresh, with crisp lettuce and fresh croutons. The dressing was a bit runny for a Caesar, but it was very flavorful and tasty. The main entrée I had was the grilled lamb sandwich in a whole wheat pita wrap, and let me say it was fantastic. Very, Very generous in size with lots of lamb meat and seasoned beautifully. Now the location. This is located in a strip plaza, but it is deceiving. I walked in to pick up my food, and the place is a quaint, clean little space with a bar and tables offering a nice ambiance. Went here thanks to Groupon and some friends. The atmosphere is nice enough to chill for a good while ... 1/2 off house wines on Mondays and Wednesdays... just sayin'! The staff = excellent. The food is good I had the gyro salad platter where the meat was so thinly sliced it was just crisp on the edges yet still moist and full of flavor. And the salad portion was generous. Their baba ghanouge (their spelling) dip lacked the flavor I look for with eggplant dishes. It tasted generic. The highlight of the evening: Turkish coffee. Instead of calling me to offer options, the restaurant canceled part of my order and sent the delivery without it. A coworker had a groupon for this place that was about to expire today, so we went. I love Greek food, but this place was a disappointment. Before I even ordered the food, I saw 2 dead roaches in the bathroom. That didn't exactly fuel my appetite. My coworker and I both ordered the mousaka and were joking around about how huge it will be and that we'll have some of it for lunch tomorrow. Well, when it got there, we were both shocked at how tiny it is. Plus the potatoes were undercooked. The hummus was not as good as one of the brands I get at the Farmer's Market. So I decided to use my GROUPON to go check out this place. Me and my friend order the FALAFFEL apetizer and a GYRO. Service was O.K. Food was a little below par. The FALAFFEL Apetizer i tought it was good but the GYRO was just O.K. I never had a GYRO where the PITA was chewy! it seems to me that the PITA Was Microwaved so not a fan of microwaves; overall though it was OK ( meaning 3* ) The reason why i give this place 2* is because the waitress added a 20% TIP to our check. In my opinion she deserved 15% ( Do not get me wrong I do TIP and TIP well if service is spectacular) my standard is 15% regular service 18% service beyond regular 20%+ Spectacular service! well service was just OK. I told my friend i would come again PRIOR my check. I mean it was OK. However when I asked why 20% tip the waitress said: It is just restaurant policy (when using a "COUPON"). I am sorry if ur restaurant has a policy on TIPPING that is just wrong. My service was average so normal = 15%) I normally tip 18% however is the principle the customer is not allowed to make a judgement. End of the DAY I told my friend I wouldnt come back ( after i said i would ) It is sad to me this BUSINESS decission ( YES ONLY $1.00 Difference ) made a huge impact on this place. It is fine i can go and take my business elsewhere. Which is what i felt when i went to this place. If you cannot afford a GROUPON then dont advertise. I love the Olive Bistro! I frequent the location in Cobb the most but have had good experiences at other Atlanta locations as well. I like the cozy space. Mediterranean cuisine is healthy and I have enjoyed various items on the menu. The prices are reasonable, and the gentleman who was the only working the front last evening was great with suggesting what I might like to order based on my questions. Check it out if you really know and like fresh, middle eastern food. Alot of people tend to confuse Greek and Middle Eastern food, so I stress middle eastern, as that is the key food served by this charming bistro. I had mousaka, a very generous portion, with some left over for dinner and a side of greek salad my first visit. The dressing was fresh and tasty with wonderful herbs and the pita was warm and toasty, just right for the dipping into the great sauce on the mousaka.Liked the really good kalamtta olives in the salad. Next visit, I took a friend and my wife for dinner, and this was a very good experience. Great way to try more items with more people. I must say I have been served by both the gentleman, I think he is Bruce and a lovely young lady, and both have outstanding customer service and are quite attentive, without hovering. We shared, hommos, the best, crunchy falafel, so fresh, grape leaves, which were tender and well spiced, and then shared our entrees as well. The tasty, tender, well seasoned lamb wrap was so good and quite a bargain, as most places charge 12,00 for a lamb sandwich. The lamb was fresh, tender and great flavor. We also, split, chicken platter and a gyro. The gyro had great tazaki sauce, love the fresh cucumber taste, and the chicken platter had the most devine rice. The chef is great with spices and today, I had for lunch with more co workers, the trio sampler, falafel and friends and tuscan beans to share, all so good, before diving into an outstanding falafel wrap with more yummy hommos. I just love this food, service and such good prices for this economy. I like the well priced appetizers, and the fact that I can choose a sandwich for lunch or dinner or have an entree. It gives me alot of choices and a way to control my budget. Overall the food is very good (fresh), the prices are o.k. (about 9 bucks for a lunch dish) the portions are not too big, not too small and the atmosphere is o.k. (it's in a strip mall and it used to be a sub shop). It would be hard to complain about the food, but it's not quite authentic in my opinion (spent a few months in Greece). The gyro is served with chips and this should always be served with fries (for example). If the prices where around 5 bucks I would probably visit this place often. read more
