Olive Garden does not disappoint. We do take-out mostly and do enjoy dining in occasionally. Our order is always complete and delicious. Not one time in the past 12 years has Olive Garden forgotten one thing. We come home with the salad dressing, croutons, and whatever else we ask for. We went there just last night and my hubby commented that Olive Garden is the only place in town we bring home dinner from that has never once missed something. Like last week went to Ruby Tequila's. She forgot a whole entire meal. Ruby's has great great hot sauce, but 8 out of 10 times, we get home without tacos, cheese dip, a whole meal, no rice and potatoes but everything else. it's irritating and i'm out $36. I ordered the Valentine's Day special over the phone after waiting 40 minutes on the phone. The lady that answered assured me that I could get the special without chicken, and advised me that my order would be ready in about an hour. I get there after the time, wait in line for another forty minutes, just for the lady to say that she lost our order. She finally found it, but said it had chicken. I told her that I wanted it without chicken, and she said they couldn't do that. When I said what I was told, she advised me to leave. This whole ordeal for measly pasta is ridiculous. We went in right before closing, no other costumers were there, my wife left her purse and went back the next morning to get it and they told her they didn't have it. After she left they called her asking what was in her purse and she told them her wallet with cash and a few other things, they asked how much cash and my wife wasn't sure the exact amount. She went back to get it and there was $2 cash left when she had over $120 at least. Also her credit card was there but somebody took the information cause later there was a $75 transaction made on it from somebody else. Last time I went there was a bug crawling on the wall near where the servers come out of the kitchen. I lost my appetite but what was worse was seeing the server Half heartedly trying to smash it with her shoe- missing each time. Today my Sister & I including my Nephews went to have lunch here and it wasn't very busy. There was a server by the name of Joel who held the door open for us as we arrived . We were then seated but now the disappointment. We sat and waited to be acknowledged for a good 7 or 8 min before I finally decided to get up and see if anybody was going to serve us. There were 2 servers who walked past us never saying anything and the same 2 were serving others around us but still not even a hello. I am a server myself and I know this is not acceptable. At least let the guests know you see them instead of ignoring them. The same server that held the door open for us walked past us and come to find out his shift was already over and he got back on the floor to serve us. Joel is the reason I gave 5 or they wouldn't of gotten 1 and also the Manager whom I forgot to get her name was very gracious and took care of a few things on our ticket. I went there with my husband for soup and salad. We sat at the bar, and this was about 3:30 pm. We were not greeted when we sat down, and it was almost 10 minutes before our bartender took our order. We ordered our salad with tomato on the side because I am allergic. She brought the salad with the tomatoes in it. The lady sitting next to us got up and got us some silverware because our waitress didn't bring us any. My bowl of chicken gnocchi soup was half full and had a total of 3 gnocchi in it. When I asked for another bowl she grabbed my bowl set it on the bar and proceeded to take care of drink orders before getting my soup. She never once apologized for her mistakes, and I never saw her smile and not once did she say thank you. How sad that after a long day at work you can't go and get good service from what used to be my favorite restaurant. read more

Arrived around 1:45 in the afternoon. Hostess got our name wrong, so we almost didn't get seated. We ordered up front but waited an hour to just get our appetizer. We eventually got our food, but it was tasteless and looked like it had been sitting out for a while. However, our waitress was very nice and did her best to make up for it, including having our appetizer taken off the ticket and serving complementary wine, but I don't think we will becoming back for a while. Ate here today (06/06/2017) with my boyfriend, our server Peyton was one of the friendliest waitresses we've ever had! She even offered us wine samples. She recommended the lasagne fritta, which was delicious! Boyfriend had the shrimp scampi and said it was really good, too. We decided to eat from The Olive Garden for my daughter's birthday celebration because it was her favorite place to eat. Unfortunately she left this world 5 years ago. I place the order online and it said it would be ready in 25 mins. I was there to pickup in 25 mins. But I sat in that parking lot for 45 mins. before they brought my order out. But it wasn't my order it was someone else's. And the girl offered to put it in my backseat, so if I hadn't checked it I would have gotten home before realizing it wasn't even what I ordered. We had lunch here today and I was very happy with the food and service. Our server was very good, he spent time with us, was very observant and kept the salad coming and the soup full. The only down part to this visit were the bread sticks. The first order was cold and didn't have the usual Olive Garden flavor. The second order was better but still lacked that flavor. What a disappointment AGAIN! I ordered the appetizer of calamari, gnocchi soup and salad. The first order of calamari was cut approximately half an inch thick but they were very small ringlets so it didn't take much to cook them and when they arrived they were hard. So I asked him for another order hoping that they would be a better cut of calamari but apparently they have switched to a inexpensive cut and it's very difficult to get them cooked correctly so the second order was also refused. They asked if I wanted to third I said no this is the quality I would expect from McDonald's if they serve calamari and not what I expect from Olive Garden. I ordered two sausage links and I came to the table looking good. I cut them approximately 1 inch thick. The flavor was a three out of 10 and the consistency was like Vienna sausage. I asked my server both of them if they have changed sausages and the main server said that she thought they might have because somebody else had complained about the consistency also. Needless to say I didn't eat them either. She brought the soup to the table she had spilled it all the plate and was apologizing as she set it down on the table I reached for the spoon it was covered and soup all over the handle so I asked for a new spoon and she did not return 10 minutes later I got up and asked for a plastic spoon from the bar. About that time I was unwrapping the spoon and she showed up with a metal one. I'm not impressed and probably won't be going back to Olive Garden in Amarillo quite possibly anywhere I'm very sad and I love their salad and breadsticks and still like the soup but The lady who waited on us was bartending that night and picked up three tables. She was running all over the place and never got any of us served well. Fortunately my friend had taken me to dinner and when he asked me about the tip I said I'm not getting involved. And I didn 't. This place is a favorite of our family, and today proved why. We went there with our son for dinner. We were seated promptly and waited on within minutes. Our server was extremely friendly and accommodating. We ordered a customized Tour of Italy to split (my husband and I) and it was brought to us already split. We had fresh salad, fresh hot bread, and our drinks were refilled without us having to ask. It was a terrific dining experience. There is no doubt we will be back in the near future! read more

The manager actually went out to buy something that they'd run out of, for us, which is SO unusual and exceptionally nice. Literally the worst restaurant experience I've ever had. My family and I stopped to eat here passing through Amarillo on March 8th, 2020. We got there around 8 pm and had a 15 minutes wait to be seated for a party of four. The whole restaurant was closed down except for one section which had 6 tables. Our server didn't meet us until 8:30, he got our drink order and we didn't get our drinks until 9. My family got all waters but I asked for an unsweet tea. I got a half full glass is tea and it was sweet and I told the server and he said that was the last of the tea and they won't make anymore. My dad asked for the peppers and onions to be off the salad and the salad came out wilted, slime, wilted and had a couple of onions. We asked the server about the onions and he said he picked them off bc when he asked the lady that makes the salads to not put them on she said no to him. Who's to know if he did that with his bare hands or not. By this time it is 9:30 and we were afraid of getting sick off their food so we told the manager and left. read more

The food today was excellent as it always is, but today a waitress accidentally spilled a drink down my back. She went out of her way to help clean up my shirt and then the manager came and made sure I was taken care of completely. My husband and my grand kids were then served an excellent meal which all of us enjoyed thoroughly. When the check came, they not only deducted my meal, they deducted two more meals. I went here with my family this past weekend and the wait and service was prolly the worse I have ever seen. They told me it would be a 30 minute wait for a 10 top but they took a whole hour. They kept sitting other 5-8 size parties and kept telling me they were waiting on a table. Seems like they are not sure of how to accommodate parties this large. The food is overpriced and subpar. The food comes from frozen and the cheesecake was still frozen. There was paper on the edge of the cheesecake when it was served to us. Only gave one star because I had to give something. The staff is outstanding however when I was in the restaurant a few days ago a manager was sitting in the par with a bunch of paperwork. When I glanced at the name tag I believe it read Paul. Was quite disappointed when we later saw the same name on the rock in front of the building stating gm next to it. The staff was busy and the host were on a wait and all this "gm" did was sit in the bar watch the tv play on his phone and went through some papers. Any time someone asked him for help I noticed he would send them to get another to help them because he was "too busy". Some leader in the company. I have been to a few Olive Garden in my time and never thought the company would hire such a lazy gm. Get up and be a leader for your crew man. And put in place a office not near guest. My wife and I went out Saturday night and arrived at about 6:15. We were told or it would be about 15-20 minute wait and we were seated within that time. The person that seated said we were in the area where the good waiters were which is always good to know. We had been seated about 15 minutes when I finally got up and went back to the hostesses and asked if we could get waited on and assured me that someone would be by shortly. About the same time a guy came by and said he couldn't get any service either. We waited another 10 minutes or so and I told my wife I'm not putting up with this crap!
