I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner here. I had driven all day and decided Italian sounded good. It's a nice place. Comfortable. The service was good. Jordan was attentive, pleasant and knew his stuff. I was hungry and ordered a salad, calamari, chicken with veggies and pasta and a beer. Normally no problem for a hungry Aussie. Wrong! The salad was a meal in itself. The calamari was a meal in itself. The main course was more than enough by itself. But, what the hell, I gave it a darned good shot. The value was excellent and, I am sure, the chocolate custard cheesecake would have been wonderful but anyone who had eaten all the above (including 4 bread sticks) then managed to eat dessert isn't normal. Went for dinner with my daughters and wife for my birthday on New Years Day. Our server, Jackson, was great. No problem with him, but food was very stale and old tasting. Olive Garden has always been a fave restaurant when traveling across the U.S. Until we went to the one Amarillo TX. The staff was in full on "turn the tables mode". Instead of the usual greeting and taking of the drink order followed by the bread routine, the waitress greeted us with the salad and the bread and then asked us to order our meal. We felt this was anticlimactic to enjoying a relaxing dinner in any way shape or form. The wine was brought promptly after this hurried greeting. I like butter with my breadsticks and asked for it. I was told the restaurant had zero butter pats. There had to be some form of butter in the kitchen whether it was in pat form or not I didn't care, I just wanted butter on my bread and was told I could not have it - disappointing is an understatement. The waitress repetitively visited our table to ask if anything else was needed, totally disrupting any form of relaxation or ambience we had hoped to have at our dinner time. We felt completely rushed like our enjoyment of dinner time did NOT matter to her or the restaurant. I have had longer and more enjoyable doctor visits then I had at this Olive Garden. So called ahead today to see how they where doing dine in. The lady over the phone would not give us any information. So we drive up there to see what we need to do. You go in and there's a lady sitting right at the door. Taking phone numbers, then they tell you to wait in ur car until you are texted to come in. I have a wheat allergy. Although the waitress helped me find my options and how to view their gluten free menu then went on and on about how you need to always tell them fully gluten free or they'll put it in the same water, didn't do just that. I received my "gluten free" pasta and it had all kinds of other pasta mixed in. I HAVE A WHEAT ALLERGY. I can NOT have that mixed in or made in the same water. So she came and took it and said that she FORGOT to tell them it was gluten free. Really? After you JUST explained to me how important that is to do when ordering. THEN she stood at the table talking practically the entire time we were eating. It was very uncomfortable. We couldn't even enjoy our food with her standing there. When she finally would leave my husband asked for a manager which she saw and come running over to our table and stood there until the manager came then we couldn't even talk to the manager with her hovering. Then when leaving she grabbed and hugged me. It was very awkward and uncomfortable. I don't even know this person nor had they been my server before. This OG hit the spot. We stayed at the Hampton Inn 1.5 miles West and placed a rather large order online about 20 minutes from the hotel. I dropped my family off to check-in and went straight to the OG for pickup. The online ordering interface is sharp. The food was ready promptly as promised at 8:20. The lady at the bar diligently checked the order to ensure nothing was missing which I appreciated. I was on my way in 5 minutes and back at the hotel with my family waiting at the lobby tables of the hotel. We had a great dinner super fast and efficient after a long drive. The To-Go option here works well and saved us a lot of time. We had a nice meal so our kids could then get in the pool and get their wiggles out and then to bed so we can get up for another long day's drive back to Houston tomorrow. Nice job, OG! read more

Then at the end I was filling in the survey and she snatched it from my hands and gave herself a great review. We didn't even have a chance to say anything. Don't ever order the CHEESECAKE it is like taking a spoon full of sugar someone needs to learn what cheesecake is. Came for a family dinner and ended up waiting while 5 waiters just walked by and looked at us. When one finally came to the table almost 20 minutes later there was no apology for the wait and just that she was going to make things as quick as possible to get us out of here.. actually said that.. we did not say we were rushing. I've eaten at the Olive Garden for many years, but I'm sorry to say this will probably be my last unless I hear of some improvements. We had an unbelievably long wait for our table, even though we were there at 11:30am. When we were seated, our table was not wiped very well and my flatware was dirty and sticky. Our waitress was having a difficult time remembering we were there. Our bread sticks were hard and dried out. We asked for fresher bread sticks and the next batch was not even warm and they were so salty you couldn't eat them. When my food arrived, it was tepid at best. There was so much garlic that you couldn't taste anything else. As for the atmosphere, well there is nothing like getting a whiff of something wet and moldy while eating. read more

Ok, I'm not a giant fan of Italian food, but I'm a stickler for good service. I like to find certain waitstaff that is awesome and have them as servers when I visit the place they work at. Let me say...James G, Joe and Donna @ Olive Garden are amazing. However, James B is a whiny snotty brat who has the audacity to tell another waitress how he was upset he got a $2 tip from a lady who's bill was $40. He actually said he wanted to walk up to her, hand her the $2.00 back and say he didn't need it that bad! I was livid...James B had waited on me and my daughter once before. His service was so bad I had to ask the bartender (who happened to pass by) for help! (If I have to request the same thing 3 times, I ain't gonna be happy). Came in on a Sunday night with my young son. We were seated right away, and our server got us our drinks quickly! Our food was great, even though it took a bit for what I thought were simple pasta dishes (especially since the table next to us , that sat a good 15 min after Us got their appetizer and meals before we got ours!) Our server was great & very attentive- although- I don't know her name. Now for what I thought could be improved..... The bathroom was gross. It smelled, it had paper towels everywhere and toilet paper on the floor. The paper towel holders were empty- and there was a huge roll of brown paper towels on the wet counter soaking up everyone's mess, that I then had to clean my hands with. Gross. As I walked out of the restroom into the small hallway there was an employee who looked like she was hiding on her cellphone, huddled in the corner. Why not just go outside? Since there are not many vegan or even vegetarian friendly restaurants in Amarillo open on Monday night I decided to just go to Olive Garden. I assume you all know what the food is like. Completely fine and predictable Italian food with delicious breadsticks (which are accidentally vegan!). This food was no different and they gave very big portions so overall satisfied with the meal. My review is mostly about the covid updates. I will start with what they were doing well. You weren't allow to wait in lobby and they texted you when your table was ready. The tables were spread out with many blocked off and cleaned before use and they used disposable menus. All of which I appreciated. However the reason I docked 2 stars was the lack of masks by the staff. The hostess didn't even have a mask on and our waitress was wearing a mask but didn't cover her nose. Most of the waitresses and staff I saw had their masks on improperly and many just had it around their neck and weren't covering their mouth or nose when they were interacting with customers (what is the point of the mask then???). read more

Never received any service. Visited on May 11th. Went to the bar area where 3 waitresses were standing back talking. There were two guest to my left and two to my right. I was never served. Waited patiently as Payton stepped forward and asked the guest on the left if they needed more salad. Then she asked they lady next to her if she needed anything else. The other waitress. No name tag asked the guest to the right if she wanted parmesan on her soup and then walked away from the area. Payton left to go clean a table. (I approached her to ask her name. The first three did not wear name tags, however the one drinking did) I went to the table area to asked for a manger. Shelly never came out. I went back to the bar are and saw a different waitress drinking what looked like tea. I encountered 4 waitresses that could have helped me. Since I couldn't get dinner for my family at Olive Garden I left and went to 1000 neapolitan pizzeria. I honestly can't give you one star. During my visit I said loudly I'm I invisible. as we walked into the restaurant we were immediately feeling un welcomed from the stares of the host, we then tried to order food and our server Deborah was very rudely explaining to us how we were not allowed to share a salad? She then continued to tell us how every other time we had eaten there someone was supposedly breaking the rules by letting us share. After she walked away she brought the manager who was very nicely explaining how other servers seemed to have broken the rules by letting us in the past share a salad. After being offered one salad with no free refills(when the menu says free refills) we then took our business else where. All we did was ask for a couple more minutes to decide, she then brought the manager. Tonight's service has been exceptional! Cody is the best waiter Ive had in a while. He was 100% on point! The food is always scrumptious. My husband got the portobello ravioli and it was a nice change from our usual. I stuck with my norm, chicken and gnocchi soup. It's an Italian chicken and dumpling an never disappoints. The breadsticks are always a hit. The main event of the night is the limited edition seasonal pumpkin cheesecake. However, Cody just informed me all the pumpkin cheesecake is frozen. Super sad day. I'm going to have to take my 5 stars down to 4, since this was the main reason we came here tonight. Otherwise, I've been completely content with our experience this evening. read more

I ordered online at this location and gave it a try. When ordering online, they give your a tentative time that the order will be ready and during this order I arrived a little early so I went inside to see if it was possibly ready. When I went inside, hostess directed me to the bar area since that is where the to-go food is at. I saw that my food was already bagged and ready to go and sitting on the bar counter. I'm glad I got there because I'm not exactly sure how the food would have kept from getting cold sitting out on the counter if I had waited till the expected arrival time. The bartender confirmed the order with me by pulling out all the items and repacking them in the bag. When I got home the food was still warm and the order was just right. This is my first ever review but the lack of Professional restaurant management at this Olive Garden demands addressing! We are traveling by car -4 adults, 4 children, from Colorado to TX hill country. Arriving in Amarillo around 9:30 pm, tired and hungry. 45 minutes prior to arrival I had registered online for the wait list. I also called ahead to update the number in our party from 6 to 8 (online only goes to 6). They assured me there'd be no problem since it had been slow all night. When we arrived they said it would take 10 - 15 minutes to set up our table. I explained that we had called ahead and were on the wait list - she confirmed that and called me by name. (So why wasn't the table ready???). When seated we waited another 10 minutes before our server appeared . He was very, very friendly and seemed eager to help us. By now it's 10:00 and we are very tired so the adults ordered soup and salad except for one. Kids all ordered from kids menu. Should be simple we thought. Apparently, they had run out of soup but no one told us that. By 11:00pm we had still not received any of the kids' orders or our soup and entree. We had devoured the bread and salads and realized we weren't so hungry anymore - just ready to get to the hotel. We located a manager asked for help - she located our server and sent him to the table again. That's the last we saw of her. They finally brought out the kids' dinners and the one entree which apparently had been ready a while and were no longer hot. We were told that there was an issue with the soup and they were making a new pot but the potatoes were too hard. We never got the soups. We ended up boxing up the meals and leaving. An adjustment was made to the bill for the adults' soup meals. The server was apologetic and kind but it was clearly a case of poor management and inexperience. I definitely do not recommend this particular Olive Garden, although I have eaten at many that are awesome! read more

Hostess was nice and accommodating but that was only to lure us in! Took too long just to receive sodas, then took forever just to get salad/bread sticks. Breadsticks were over cooked and hard. Once the food arrived it was mediocre at best! Server ordered wrong food so of course we had to wait for replacement. Chicken Alfredo pasta was over cooked and hard. The stuffed chicken was well cooked, had a great flavor and the server kept the drinks flowing. Saving grace was Andies mints. They never let us down, not once. read more
