A great road stop. It's been years since I've been in an Olive Garden. The only drawback is it's a bit off the highway, but was worth it. The exterior is jaw dropping with its gorgeous landscape. Parking was plentiful and the walk up to their front door tidy. I was greeted by a hostess and elected to set at the bar. I utilized the restroom which was clean and had proper supplies. My waitress was attentive and took my order. She was so friendly and made my experience so much better. I ordered the endless soup, salad and breadsticks which continues to be the best bargain the chain offers. Soon after my order I received my food. The bread was hot. The salad was fresh and my chicken and gnocchi soup yum! I ordered additional soup and bread and the timing was again speedy. While eating the waitress was kind enough to let me plug in my phone which was very helpful. I travel through this area a few times a year will return. A solid 4 stars. read more

Went in on 2/8 for my birthday dinner and left hungry. I ordered the steak and pasta. The first steak was paper thin and cooked to a crisp. The second steak was completely raw. To be honest I had the best experience I could ask for. I was traveling from out of town to visit relatives who I wanted to take out to eat before we all left because eating out isn't always in their budget. I wanted them to have a great experience. While I can't remember the servers name she is a beautiful black woman who where's her gorgeous natural hair in a pony tail and was working 2 days ago around 3:30. We were a seven top. So my family is very particular and Olive Garden was my first job almost 20 years ago so I remember a lot about their stuff. For instance my tiny mother and thin aunts don't eat much at all and don't see the point in left overs so they order what they can eat. In this case child portions. When I was a server my co workers and I would hate this because it doesn't come with a salad and people think they can eat the salad for free. Which they can you just can't get refills if they share what's on the table that's fine but you don't get a big plate. Lol The waitress was cool with my mom ordering and when my aunt did the server did exactly what she was supposed to do and informed the table the salad was not included up seller and asked if they would like a bowl and salad. She also pointed them kindly to the lunch menu as an alternative as well which comes with salad. Truthfully we don't eat alot and don't like to waste and I ordered soup and salad which also ticks servers off at dinner time especially with the endless refills and she kindly smiled at me and proceeded. My point to this is knowing the rules of Olive Garden as well as I do this server is hands down management material and should be teaching her skill. I tipped her accordingly. My bill was 120 for the table and I gave her 45. She deserved every penny. It just goes to show you that you never know who is sitting at your table and you should never pre judge a table of guests. I know I'm the county you are in you probably see a lot of crazy things and looking at the reviews I can see these people have nothing better to do lol..... My mom, son, and myself went to Olive Garden in Beckley today. First, I must say the food was delicious. The food is always good. I had the Asiago tortellini alfredo, which is one of my favorites. My son had the Tour of Italy, which he inhaled. My mom had shrimp alfredo. We had the shrimp fritto misto as the appetizer. My mom really enjoyed it. Service was really subpar. It took a while for the waitress to come take our order. Our appetizer came out before our breadsticks and salad, which was weird. My mom isn't a huge ranch fan, so we asked for ranch on the side instead of on the salad, which did not happen. Refills were nonexistent. Halfway through my meal, I desperately needed a refill. However, my waitress was busy lolligagging with some older gentlemen in the corner. I tried to eat slower, but that tortellini is really hard to get down when you're thirsty. During the last two minutes of my meal, she FINALLY came over to see if we needed anything and then realized me and my son both needed refills. In those two minutes, I was so parched that I drank the whole glass. Me and my mom split the bill. We both went to the bathroom while my son was at the table and left our cards to pay. When we came back, the waitress had ran my card but not my mom's. Then, we had to wait even longer for her to come back and realize she hadn't ran my mom's card. She did it on the machine because she said she knew we had been waiting a while. Usually, I pay by machine, but I wasn't sure how since the bill was split. We were due to see a movie at the theater that started at 2:20, and we ended up not being able to leave Olive Garden until 2:20. So we left rushed and worried. Consistent menu quality with reasonable prices. The wait staff is generally very prompt and efficient. This particular visit we had an excellent waiter who was on top of everything along with being personable. That will always make our meal much more enjoyable. Food is usually good as most olive gardens are. Today had a small 10 minute wait to get in. Upon getting to our table we had a nice server that came by on time and got our drinks. Our food took forever and server kept apologizing to our table and many others. Had to wait 15 min after our salad came to get any bread. We were there an hour and a half and never got our food. Then had to ask for it to go. Finally got it and had to leave for a game. Our to go bag had no bread and no drinks to go we're offered. Very bad staffing at this location. read more

For today, I could only garnish one star. My wife and I arrived and were seated at 2:50 pm. At @ 2:55 the waitress came to the table to get our order. We ordered a couple ice teas and said we were ready to order. She said "Right after I get your drinks". At @ 3:00 she came back with our drinks and was ready to take our order. We order the "all you can eat soup and salad lunch". She said it was too late, it ended at 3:00 and the system changed over and there was nothing she could do about it. I came to Olive Garden because I love Italian men, anyway, I went to the bar to loosen up my nerves and had a bottle of wine, no problem. I then proceeded to order another bottle, finished that and the bartender REFUSED my third bottle. Being someone who travels to Italy at least 3 times throughout the year, I always have at least 5 bottles of wine in one sitting. Also, I had a breadstick between each bottle, like obviously bread absorbs alcohol. I also do not know why they offered me salad, I HATE SALAD, GROSS!! That was rude. Me and my girlfriend went to good ole OG last night and it was good but not great. With it being a Friday night it was crowded but there was virtually no wait which was good because I was starving. The waiter was a good guy and seemed to his like his job. They did put olives in the salad even tho I asked for no olives but that was just a minor inconvenience. The food last night was fantastic the service was great but the bathrooms were not clean and smelled like pee. This Olive Garden is really disorganized, and slow. 5 of us went there for lunch today. It took about 30 minutes to get two glasses of prosecco because even though it is listed on their menu, the waiter had "never served this before" and didn't know how to open it. We received our big bowl of salad and it was barely dressed. My sister ordered a gnocchi soup that arrived at our table with no gnocchi! The waiter informed us that it "wasn't my fault." 4 of us finally got our entrees while my neice had to wait at least 10 more minutes before her meal arrived. We asked for more breadsticks, and the waiter seemed really aggravated with this request. Sadly, we fared better than the couple at the table beside us. They were there well before us but received nothing more than salad and bread. Apparently, they forgot their entrees. They asked to speak to the manager who apologized and promised to get their food but they told him they were too upset to eat at that point. All in all, a frustrating experience at Olive Garden in Beckley today. I suspect the kitchen is poorly organized and needs a better managerial system. read more

This Olive Garden has a fantastic staff and manager. I stopped here in the middle of an eight hour drive, this restaurant was about half way home. The food was good and our server was great. I accidentally left my purse at the restaurant and drove the rest of the way home. The manager went above and beyond to mail my purse to me, all the way to North Carolina! What a life saver! I'm so impressed with my experience here, not only to have a good dinner, but by the amazing people who work there! read more

Just got off work and went in with my fiancé and is dad at probably around 2:45? We were sat immediately and they said that someone would be right with us. We were gonna have something off their lunch menu (ended at 3). We waited and tables around us filling. All the tables around us that were there AFTER us were getting there drinks, salads, and bread sticks. No one ever showed us to even ask us what we wanted to drink. We continued to wait and no one ever showed up. It was then 3:05 and we were still not waited on. After being sat no one else said another word to us the whole time. Not even a drink. The first time I went to the one in Beckley, WV I got HORRID service. My son ordered soup and I asked the waitress for a spoon...she said "why do you need a spoon?" Ummm...for the SOUP??? She didn't bring the breadsticks, got mad when I wanted parm cheese on my salad...and when I asked for a take out box she said well we only have the small ones left, not on big enough for what you didn't eat...well then bring me two..but the table next to me got a large box for their leftovers. I came in to visit some friends and, on the night I arrived, they said that the new Olive Garden had opened up. Being used to Darden restaurants, I figured why now. It was 22:00 and we just wanted something light. Figured to be in and out in 30/40 minutes. First off: horrible service. Darden restaurants train their employees and make sure they know what they're doing before they employ them. Why these servers and managers were not trained, I don't know. We weren't even acknowledged at our table for nearly fifteen minutes. And servers passed by several times. And the place was not taken care of in the slightest. There were still food particles on my seat when I sat down and I know that bussers and servers are supposed to wipe down the tables and seats while the station's being cleaned. I was an employee for Darden for over a year. Had we let our restaurant be in that shape, we would have been shut down. Granted, had we have left a table to sit there with no one to stop by, our manager(s) would have jumped down our throats. But then, they also would have been by that table to get them started. We never even had a manager stop by and there were three on the floor. I know that it's the first Olive Garden/Darden restaurant in Beckley, but that's no excuse for the staff to not be properly trained. At one point, just to be noticed, I had to say quite loudly to capture the attention of the server (who, by this point, had passed our table 4/5 times), "Pretty bad. 10 minutes and not even so much as a coaster on the table to say that they know we're here." Granted, when our server finally dropped by, she was nice, but very frantic. She had said it was due to having a large part of 9, but that table had left by the time we arrived and the bussers were already taking care of the table. So to sit there for as long as we did without so much as a, "Your server will be right with you" or "You're server's running a bit behind. Can I go ahead and get your drinks for you?" was quite disappointing. The service is better at the steakhouse across the street. Food-wise: Standard Olive Garden food. read more
