Stopped here for a late dinner. We got to Duluth a little late, with no reservation we ended up waiting 15-20 minutes for a table as it was a busy Saturday night. Once we were seated we knew what we wanted and ordered everything right away. Our waiter was very attentive and nice. He checked in on us and always made sure we had everything we needed and asked for. I ordered *Strawberry Bellini *CYO Pasta - angel hair with five cheese marinara *Salad *Pumpkin Cheesecake (to-go) The drink was good, the strawberry they topped the drink with was a little sad but the drink was good so that's all that mattered. My pasta was good as it was the first time trying the five cheese marinara sauce. I added crushed pepper for a little spice. The salad and breadsticks are always good. The pumpkin cheesecake was good!! It was topped with a little caramel. I love cheesecake so can't go wrong with that. Overall everything was good.

Something like a three or four, this mountain top Olive Garden. Everything was pushed out buffet style so there was no timing whatsoever. Bread sticks weren't warm. Good thing I ordered extra pepperoncini and olives because portions were so meager they showed up with less than the normal amount elsewhere. That extra sausage link looked like a dried up mummy's dick. Was ugly but tasted good; that's what she said!! Spaghetti needed extra marinara. Needed. ... but the hostess and server were both friendly. Not knocking that.

Where do I start with this place? Upon arrival you see the beautiful architecture of the building starting with the rock masonry formation in front and then the elegant doors out front. It looks inviting and somewhere you'd want to bring a date or the whole family. As you walk in your immediately greeted by the staff with friendly smiles and great eye contact. Off to the left as you walk in is a beautiful area of the restaurant that features beautiful masonry, soft leather booths looking out towards Central Entrance, and on top of it all this area has a full bar. As my beautiful bride and I sat and went over the menu there it's come to my attention that the menu has changed a bit but still has a great selection of items to choose from. We decided to go with an appetizer starting with the Shrimp Fritto Misto which is Over a half-pound of shrimp mixed with onions and bell peppers, hand-breaded and lightly fried. Served with marinara and spicy ranch. I can tell you, this was absolutely delicious. The spicy ranch was my preferred dipping sauce as well as Cassies too. For our entrées I had the unlimited Salad, Soup, and breadsticks. For the soup I had both the chicken & Gnocchi, and the Zuppa Toscana. Both are amazing. In the Zuppa Toscana I swear the broth could cure any cold you might have. Cassie ordered the Salmon with Broccoli which was cooked to perfect, it just flaked off and tasted amazing. Cassie ordered with my meal the Amaretto Sour which if it was a hot day this is exactly what you would want. Reminded me of sitting on the pier next to the ocean in California. It was super sweet so if you like sweet alcoholic beverages this is the drink for you. Now that the food is out of the way let me tell you about the service. Our waitress, Sophia, was absolutely amazing. She was very kind, greeted us right away and got us both waters right away. My Cassie usually has a hard time choosing what she wants right away so we ordered our appetizer which came out relatively quick but like ai said, tasted amazing haha We asked her questions about the drink menu and when she didn't know she ran right away to the bar to find out the answers and hurried back to us. We felt bad for making her run back and forth but she was very kind about it. Anyone who comes here would be thankful to have a waitress like her. She is very customer oriented and was a joy to have at our table. This isn't our first time at Olive Garden but we love our experience whenever we are here. Hopefully they build one in our hometown. Thanks to everyone to making our date night special. We will be back! #olivegarden #food #foodies #datenight #arrenschroyer #schroyerfamilydaily #finedining #italianrestaurant #duluthmn #review #minnesota #minnesotarestaurant #dining #diningout #salmon #gnocchi #salad #breadsticks #greatservice

CRISPY BRUSSEL SPROUTS Sweet and spicy soy glaze with sautéed red peppers and scallions. These were a little too heavy on the sauce for my liking, but otherwise very good. If you're not a fan of sweeter flavors, this one may not be for you. BUFFALO MAC & CHEESE Cavatappi pasta tossed in a creamy mac sauce, topped with crispy buffalo chicken, blue cheese crumbles, and onion straws. We added bacon and chicken, and this was a top pick for us! The buffalo sauce had the perfect balance--not overly spicy, but enough flavor to complement the creamy mac and cheese. CPB CO. FISH AND CHIPS Craft beer-battered haddock served with Northcoaster fries and house-made tartar sauce. Another top pick for us! The fish was crispy, flavorful, and perfectly fried. Honestly, one of the best fried fish dishes I've had in Minnesota. Unfortunately, I can't report on the beer as I'm not a big drinker...Sorry! Overall, a fantastic experience with great food, welcoming service, and plenty of variety. Definitely one of my favorite spots in Duluth!

The beer selection was a little smaller than we expected, but there was still a nice variety of styles, so everyone in our group found something they enjoyed. They also have a full bar with specialty cocktails. The food menu was surprisingly large with lots of unique and fun options to try. The only small downside was that the Brussels sprouts were still a little undercooked for our taste, but everything else was excellent and more than made up for it. Excellent brisket, fish n chips, and build your own burger! The garlic aioli and IPA mustard sauces were definitely memorable. Overall, it's a great spot for good food, craft beer, and a fun atmosphere located right on the pier. We'd definitely come back!

Drinks, followed by poutine 5 minutes later, then food about 10 minutes after that. We were all done within 30 minutes! The food was fantastic, too. Delicious poutine, with oozy gooey squeaky cheese curds. I had the smoked fish salad; it had the right amounts of everything and felt like a distinctly Duluth dish. My husband had the fish and chips. I had a bite of his fish, and it was perfect, with great batter and flavor. I would happily come here again on a visit. I can see why this is a city institution.

When we arrived a bit after 7PM, we had quite some trouble finding parking and ended up having to park a couple of blocks away after circling for 20 minutes. Walking in, the place wasn't too busy, perhaps 50% capacity. We were interested in ordering the fried cheese curds, but the server told us they weren't battered in house, so we passed on them. Smoked Fish Salad (Market Price, $18.99) - This is a pretty salad - all ingredients are arranged in rows along the dish. Mixing things together is a bit of a pain, but I appreciate the dressing on the side to add to preference. The dressing is an interesting blend of mayo and other ingredients, perhaps BBQ sauce, that make it slightly tangy and very sweet. There's an undertone of smokiness throughout, which tastes somewhat like liquid smoke rather than the dressing actually being smoked. It is on the sweeter side of dressings. Other than greens, there's a row of wild rice, dark and snappy, completely broken cultivated rice. There's also a bit of house smoked trout, nice and smoky. (4/5) Classic Wild Rice Burger ($16.99) - This is one of the tallest burgers I've seen in quite a while, mostly due to the inclusion of fresh vegetables including onion and tomato, and alfalfa sprouts. For some reason instead of using larger tomatoes, they use small roma tomatoes, including three small slices. They also used red onion that's chopped into a variety of different shapes instead of whole slices. It's really strange - I guess this saves on cost? Unfortunately smaller pieces means things fall out while eating. The patty is larger than the bun. It has plenty of broken wild rice bits giving some additional crunch and that signature wild rice taste. It's charred on the griddle well and it keeps its structure, not falling apart or becoming mushy at any point. I love how it's distinctively a rice burger and doesn't try to be a meat substitute. Two slices of American cheese are melted on top that gives some fattiness to the dish. The bun is toasted without butter and there's a flavorful garlic mayo spread on the top. It would be nice if they had also applied the sauce to the bottom bun as I found the patty to not have enough moisture or fat incorporated. The burger comes with some thin commercial fries. There aren't any issues with the level of fry and they are otherwise unremarkable. (4/5) Fitger's Brewhouse serves some solid good old fashioned Midwestern American food. Not much else to say.
