Service and food were ok. My friends love this place and I come here to spend time with them, but if I'm being honest, I haven't found a dish here that makes me say, wow. Had dinner with my friend on a Thursday after work and thought it wouldn't be crowded at all. Parked and waited for said friend, in 7 minutes, the parking lot was crowded. We walked inside, they took us to a section on the left and it was like we were at a wedding or something. It was so crowded and only 6 pm! I ordered the calabrian shrimp bucatini, took a bite of the steak and it did not taste right. It tasted like a spongy either Salisbury steak or fake meat. but it did not taste like sirloin tips. I would not recommend that dish and wish I went with the shrimp alfredo instead. We were approached by two different managers during our dinner checking in on our experience, one of them was Veronica. We asked her if it was normally this crowded on a Thursday at 6 pm and she told us there's some sort of pass that they offer once a year where you pay around $100 and you get unlimited pasta for 13 weeks and it ends in November and started end of August. The passes go on sale once a year I think and there's a limit on availability. I think that's pretty cool and would definitely give that a try so I can find out what my go-to dish or combination is here. They are located off the 10 freeway and Central, in the parking lot of the Montclair Plaza mall and there's plenty of parking. read more

Extremely disappointing experience at the Olive Garden in Montclair. After we were seated, it took approximately 10 minutes for anyone to approach us. When we said we were ready to order, we were told, "I'm not the person who takes your order; your server will be here shortly." We then waited another 25 minutes, but our server never arrived. I went to the front and asked to speak with the manager, Taja Dunn. Even after the host went to get her, she avoided speaking with me and greeted another party instead. When she finally addressed the situation, she was rude, dismissive, and gave the impression that she did not care about our concerns. The complete lack of service and disregard made us feel unwelcome and discriminated against. At that point, we were so frustrated that we chose to leave without ever placing an order. This was unacceptable treatment, and management should take this situation seriously. read more

1-Star Review If I could give zero stars, I would. This location was completely disappointing compared to the Olive Garden by the Ontario Mills. First off, our server was slow, and she made it seem like we had never eaten at Olive Garden before simply because we were dressed down and had come from other arrangements. We were just looking to sit down and enjoy a good meal. Then, while we were paying our bill, the manager (African American lady) was hovering over us as if we were going to try to run out on the bill or something. It was extremely uncomfortable and made us feel like we were being treated as second-class customers. The employees were also giving us looks throughout our visit, which made the entire experience even more uncomfortable. To make matters worse, there were flies flying around the restaurant, and one actually landed in our salad. I told one of the employees, and she simply took the salad away without offering to replace it or even saying, "I'm sorry, can I get you another one?" That was freaking ridiculous. Then, to top everything off, somehow a game charge was added to our bill, and it took forever for the server to get the charge removed. And after ALL of that, we still tipped the girl $5! Honestly, I was upset that my mom even tipped because I felt like the entire experience deserved zero stars. Between the way we were treated, the fly landing in our food, the lack of concern from the employees, and the issue with our bill, this was absolutely not the experience I expected from Olive Garden. My mom wanted salad for dinner, what is better than the Olive Garden?? Who does not love the dressing on the all you can eat salad?? who does not love the sinfully delicious breadsticks?? So we go there for the salad and breadsticks, all you can eat, $14.49.... When we order it, the waitress says for $1.50 more we can have never-ending pasta, which includes a salad and breadsticks!!! What the heck, I had the 5 cheese rigatoni... it was very good! Almost al dente, but not close to the mush you get at many pasta chains... Great service and a comfortable booth. UPDATING MY REVIEW: This place has gone to hell. We were served salad without onions or olives and the last of the croutons bag just dumped on top of our salad, crumbs and all. The breadsticks were hard and processed. Bring your own bread. And our soup, it was boiled over into mince meat, so much so that we asked for fresh soup, and it just never was fresh. It was thick mince goop. The last soup my waiter brought to me, after knowing I had asked for fresh soup -- told me it was the last of the barrel and he'd come back if I didn't like it, then laughed and walked away. I paid, and left without tipping, and my food untouched. Customers are treated like trash here. Even the clean white plates smelled a little bit. First time here but this was the restaurant we wanted and the location was best for us, we usually go to Whittier or La Puente. This place is located in a rough dirty area, and very small, the restrooms are so close to the check in area and I'm sure it can get pretty foul at times. I do however give major props to our waiter, he was super friendly and loved chatting with us, very attentive and you can tell he loved his job. The meal was delicious and we had a nice time, unfortunately I will never come back, Olive Garden just doesn't fit the area. read more

Came here on a Saturday night. We thought the wait time might be long at 5pm, we checked in at the front and put down our name. Literally barely sit down outside to wait for our expected wait time of 25 min, I got the buzz the next minute that our table is ready! Place is already packed at 5pm. We waited for quite a bit before our server showed up. Server is very nice though. Food came out fairly fast. My adult daughter ordered an alcoholic drink, got carded it as she should. We went to this Olive Garden and immediately when we walked in the people at the front desk starred at us without any greetings. One of the girls when we got seated ignored her coworker and gave her and us dirty looks. We waited for ten minutes and were never acknowledged by anyone. When we walked out I let the girl at the front desk know we are leaving because no one came to greet us and we were sitting there for a while all she said was "oh". She was attentive. Bred sticks came out amediatly and piping hot. Drink orders were taken right away and came out quickly. Soups and salads came out just as soon as we ordered them. And before we know it our mane dish was ready to be served and it was piping hot. She also keep a sharp eye on our drinks always keeping them full. And we were a large part of ten. Our server Nick was amazing. Super friendly and super attentive. My cup was nearly never empty, he checked on us consistently. He double checked that I wanted everything on the salad (I don't) and even put the dressing in the side, just in case which I appreciated :) When he brought out the food he realized my order had gotten messed up before I even realized and quickly fixed the issue. I came here for lunch today. The restaurant was pretty empty and the host sat me right away. I haven't been to OG in a while and I guess the upgraded the interior. It was ok. The food - as I expected was mediocre. Then again, this is not a Michelin restaurant, so you get what you pay for. However, I was little surprised by the high price. Fried shrimp had some sort of soggy breading and half of the food portion was mixed with fried veggies with same soggy breading. My lunch deal - spaghetti with meatballs had 2 Costco meatball size meatballs with overcooked spaghetti. Keyword. Al dente. The salad was the best part. The reason why I wanted to give 5 stars was because of the service. My server, Treasure, greeted me with welcoming smile and took my drink/food order. Her service was on point in terms of asking me exactly what I needed and when I needed. She wasn't overly chatty, but spoke with just the right amount of voice and professionalism. There was a poop drainage spill outside the restaurant poop all over the parking lot it smelled horrible! Outside and inside while we were eating. We went there for a birthday. The breadsticks were very salty! We went there specifically for the breadsticks and salad. The salad was made from bagged lettuce not homemade! I don't know if this is the new cheap way to make the salad at Olive Garden but this is the only one that made bagged salad. Our family will never be coming back again to this location. we came here to celebrate my grandmother's 86th birthday, and honestly, nick made the entire experience so much more special. he was extremely attentive, courteous, funny, and just genuinely went above and beyond. when you go to a chain restaurant like olive garden, you don't necessarily walk in expecting exceptional customer service, but nick completely changed that for us. it was obvious that he genuinely loves what he does and takes pride in making sure his guests have a great experience. there were so many little things he did throughout our visit that made us feel taken care of, and you could tell it wasn't just because it was a birthday. he was simply that attentive and thoughtful. at the end of our dinner, we actually forgot our cake, and nick literally ran out to our car to bring it back to us. that alone says so much about the kind of person he is and how far he was willing to go to make sure everything was taken care of. if I ever come back to this location, I will absolutely be asking for nick. I really hope someone from his team sees this and makes sure he knows how much we appreciated him. he helped make my grandmother's 86th birthday feel extra special, and that's something we won't forget. read more

I came here tonight with my husband for dinner and we left dissatisfied. Not with the food - the food was great. We were more dissatisfied with the service. We were at table 54 and our server was Treasure. We were sat for 6 or 7 minutes before Treasure (or anyone) even approached our table. When she came to our table, we were greeted by one of the most unenthusiastic and quiet greetings. When you greet a table, please do so with a smile and loud enough the guests can hear you! She was just smiling a minute ago... Again, 6 or 7 minutes in and we're just now getting asked what we wanted to drink. We gave her our entire order on the spot and she walked away. She then came back with the salad and breadsticks and told my husband his bar drink should be coming soon. The salad plates were WARM. Who the hell wants to put their COLD salad on a warm plate? Like guys cmon. Treasure walked away before we could even ask for butter and I had to ask the girl that brought my husband's bar drink IF WE COULD FINALLY GET OUR WATERS. That was just so so wild to me. By the time we received our waters, we'd been seated for over 15 minutes and SERVED FOOD . Luckily the food tasted great. Came here expecting a decent dining experience and left disappointed. The restaurant felt extremely unorganized, service was slow, and management clearly did not seem to have control over what was going on. Staff looked stressed the entire time and the atmosphere was chaotic. Food took forever to come out and simple issues were handled poorly by most of the general management team. The only bright spot during the visit was Jason, who was actually professional, helpful, and seemed to care about both the customers and employees. He was the only manager actually checking on tables and helping staff instead of standing around like Mario Castro does. He seems unfit to run a restaurant and is to harsh to his employees and nobody there that we heard likes working with him at all. It would be 5 stars alone for the service Milton provide but the reason for 4 was the food. I haven't been to an Olive Garden in over 15 yrs easily. Went with girlfriends and their kids. I had the light portion of the lasagna clasico. Perfection portion size but the meat sauce wasn't the best very plain. The salad was soaked in Italian dressing l, a bit too much. Their breadsticks are good but don't get the 5 cheese blend sauce just stick to the traditional one. My friends seemed to enjoy it although I had a friend get a cocktail that she said wasn't great. Overall it's ok nothing special about the food but Milton's service on a Saturday evening (6/14) for a table of seven was quick friendly and very attentive. Wanted my parents to try it out (my mom's first time and my dad's second time, he tried it yearssss ago). We were served quickly as we entered around 11am. We ordered the following: - 1 Shrimp Alfredo (with Chicken & Gnocchi soup) = $21.99 - 1 Chicken and Shrimp Carbonara (with Fagioli soup) = $22.49 - 1 Create-You-Own-Pasta (Gluten-free Rotini, Creamy Mushroom, and added Shrimp; got a salad) = $13.99 + $5.29 (shrimp add-on) = $19.28 SUBTOTAL = $63.76 TAX = $5.74 TOTAL = $69.50 What I love about this place is the endless free refills of the soup, salad, AND yummy breadsticks. We ended up getting 2 rounds and took some salad and breadsticks to go. We had a wait about 15 minutes for our pasta and so we were pretty much full from the bread, soup and salad. The to-go containers are high-quality and you also get a couple of chocolate mints after. Our server (Brittney N) was wonderful - excellent customer service AND she usually stops by frequently asking if everything is ok. She leads by example and you can tell she loves her job. This was by far one of the worst Olive Garden experiences I've ever had. The service was extremely slow, the wait time was over 15 minutes to be seated even though the lobby was empty and while waiting the staff was just standing around avoiding eye contact. Once we were finally seated the bread was stale and cold. My kid ordered a fettuccine Alfredo and it was cold, grainy, dry sauce, chicken was falling apart, and chicken was watery for some reason. read more

I came here on a Friday night and was deeply disappointed. Our waiter was attentive at the beginning of the meal, but as the night went on he was essentially nonexistent. We were served our dinner entrées before receiving bread, and I had to ask the waiter for an update rather than him proactively addressing the delay. When the bread finally arrived, it was crunchy and hard, not fresh as expected. The biggest issue, however, was my chicken parmesan arriving without breading. When I asked the server about it, he told me, "It comes grilled, and if you wanted it breaded you would need to ask for that." I've been coming to Olive Garden for quite some time and have never once had to request chicken parmesan be breaded--it has always come that way by default. Between the lack of attentiveness, poor timing of courses, stale bread, and confusion over a basic menu item, this visit fell well below the standard I expect from Olive Garden Montclair. read more

I ordered two meals to go and ordered extra bread sticks. All of the food was ice cold and the breadsticks were beyond stale. It's not right to give out old stale breadsticks when you are paying extra for them. I don't know what was going on with my order yesterday. I have never had a terrible experience like this at this Olive Garden. I frequently order to go and food is warm and fine. I will reconsider going back to this location. Make this right! read more
